The developer of Throne of Bone has released a new update for the game on . Here are the new things that you should expect to see or change on this new update. This information was curated directly from the official announcement on Steam.
Hey folks!
The patch today in the main branch hits a bunch of the reported gameplay bugs. Thank you for your diligence reporting those!
Additionally, in the Beta branch, you can unlock up to 7 levels of additional difficulty in Cursed Mode! Winning with any character will unlock the option to apply curses to a run. Win on a cursed run to unlock the next level of curses!
What’s the Beta branch? It’s an opportunity to try features not yet in main branch, and provide feedback before they reach a larger audience.

Frank
Was: 5/4 “Combat Start: Increase your Magic Mastery by the highest level among your stored minions.”
Now: 3/5 “Increase your Magic Mastery by the highest level among your stored minions.”
Stein
Was: 6/7 “Combat Start: Increase your Poison Mastery by the highest level among your stored minions.”
Now: 5/7 “Increase your Poison Mastery by the highest level among your stored minions.”
Last week’s nerf was implemented in a feel-bad way, as their abilities would fire after spells. Now they are passive abilities, as they were, except they are still not “support” abilities.
Everseer
Was: “Combat Start: Set my Health and Attack equal to the greatest among Related minions.”
Now: “Combat Start: I gain Health and Attack equal to the greatest among Related minions.”
Everseer has been reworded to match the more generous nature of the ability’s current effect:
Bug Fixes
- symbiosis did not buffed benched minions
- #330 virulent zombie seems to trigger on opponent spells
- Maligned Spirit triggered on opponent’s magic damage
- #391 Squashbuckler was returning her to the battlefield even if she died prior to her combat start ability
- #401 Abilities like Tiny Ghost should fire during noncombat phase, even if benched
- Soul Sorceress / hungry shadows interaction: Soul Sorceress still allows you to use hungry shadows twice, but each kill will increase the damage by 1, not 2 (the “reward” was double triggering for EACH kill)
- #408 Cannot “Continue Run” if you return to menu during necromancer select.
- #422 #431 Infernal Meteors was not triggering for opposing summons
- #426 #450 Deadwood doesn’t trigger InfernalMeteors,
- #427 perfected gourdfather didn’t spawn perfected gourdheads
- #437 Energy echoers do not work in the “extra fight”
- #444 #454 Lethal Fallout was applying Poison for any magic damage, regardless of source
- #445 [REDACTED]’s lore was not unlocking.
- #446 #434 hostile singularitus affects player in bonus battle
