This guide will show you all the details that you need to know about the Season of Revival in Sky: Children of the Light.
What is a Season?
In Sky, we have something called “Seasons.” Seasons are like special times in the game when we get new things to do and cool stuff to collect. They last for about nine to eleven weeks, and in a year, we usually have four of them.
The best part is, everyone can join in and have fun during a Season without paying anything! But if you want even cooler stuff like fancy outfits, special dance moves (if the Season has them), and the best rewards, there’s a thing called the “Season Pass” that you can buy.
Oh, and one more thing to know, if you’re playing the demo of Sky on Steam, the shop where you can get extra stuff is turned off for now.
Season Pass Benefits
Just a little reminder: If you’re playing the demo of Sky on Steam, you can’t use the shop right now. But here’s the cool part – if you have another device like Android, iOS, Switch, or Playstation, you can buy the Season Pass there and still use it in your Steam game.
When you get a Season Pass, it lets you get extra cool stuff in a season. There are two ways to buy it. You can get one for just yourself, and it costs $9.99 in dollars. Or, there’s a bundle for $19.99 that’s super neat. It has one pass for you and two passes you can give to your friends as gifts. So, you can choose which one works best for you!
If you give a pass to a friend, remember you can’t use it for yourself, but it won’t go away at the end of the season. It’ll stay with you for the next one! However, you need to be friends with someone for 72 hours before you can give them a pass.
When you buy or get a Giftable Pass, you immediately get 30 special candles to start the season and a cool pendant with the season’s logo to wear.
For those with the Season Pass, there’s an extra candle waiting for you in your Homespace every day after the game resets. Plus, you can unlock some very special rewards that only come during the season, including the Ultimate Rewards!
Now, what are these Ultimate Rewards? They’re like the most special prizes you can get during a season. While the normal seasonal items might come back later, Ultimate Rewards won’t. They’re really unique and cool, so people really want them. You can only buy them using something called Seasonal Hearts.
Seasonal Currencies
During a season, you can find two special types of currency: Seasonal Candles and Seasonal Hearts. But here’s the thing, when the season ends, any of these special coins you didn’t spend will turn into regular money. So, Seasonal Candles become regular Candles, and Seasonal Hearts become regular Hearts. It’s like turning your special coins into everyday coins when the season is over.
Seasonal Candles
Seasonal Candles are a bit like the regular white candles you can find in Sky. You can use them to unlock cool things like dance moves, fancy outfits, music sheets, and props from the special Seasonal Spirits.
If you’re playing for free, you can get 5 Seasonal Candles every day, but if you have the Season Pass, you get 6.
There are 4 Seasonal Candles that you can find by taking on and finishing the quests from the statue in the middle of your Home Space. And if you’re ever having trouble with these quests, there are guides available to help you out.
Another way to get 1 Season Candle is by finding 4 bundles of candles in the quest realm each day. Sometimes, there are special events where you can find double the candle bundles, which means you get 8 in total. When you forge these bundles, you’ll get 2 Season Candles. The locations of these candle bundles are also shared in Daily Quest videos, so you won’t miss out.
Season Pass holders can also pick up 1 Season Candle from the Statue in Home Space every day after the game resets.
Seasonal Hearts
Seasonal Hearts are a special kind of money that you can only get if you have a Season Pass. You’ll see them way up high in the Seasonal Spirits Constellations, and getting to them takes a whole bunch of effort. Before you can get these hearts, you’ve got to buy everything else with Seasonal Candles.
These hearts are super important because you use them to get the very best stuff from the Season Guide.
Season of Revival
The Season of Revival marks the 19th time that Sky has undergone a seasonal change. It introduces a fresh realm for players to explore, making it particularly exciting for those who are new to the game.
This season pays homage to the older seasons of Sky, appealing to the sentimentality of experienced players, while also ensuring that newer players have an enjoyable experience. The focus of this season is the rejuvenation of the Aviary Village, a neglected part of the kingdom.
By accomplishing Seasonal Quests, players will actively contribute to the reconstruction of this long-forgotten Village. Throughout this journey, they will encounter Guides from the bygone seasons of Sky, adding an extra layer of nostalgia to the gameplay. Furthermore, a range of new cosmetics will be accessible to all players, with extra options exclusively reserved for Season Pass holders.
People who’ve finished the Hidden Forest level in Sky will see a big portal pop up in the water at Home Space. If you go through this portal, you’ll reach a new place called Aviary Village. When you check it out, you’ll find old and broken shops, a map shrine that doesn’t work, and some ruins that look like Home Space, with matching portals. You can’t really explore much here unless you finish the first Seasonal Quest from the Hopeful Steward.
Season Guides
The Hopeful Steward is like our Season Guide for the Season of Revival. Each week, they give us a new quest that helps make the Aviary Village a busy and fun place. You have to do the quests one by one, in order. If you got a Season Pass, you can use Seasonal Hearts to get amazing rewards from the Guide. And sometimes, you can also buy extra rewards with regular candles or hearts after finishing quests.
Quest 1
For the first quest, when we start it from the Hopeful Steward, they tell us to go down the main path in the Village. There, we’ll see a statue that we need to burn. When we do that, a character from a past season called the Rhythm Guide appears. They’ll signal us to follow them into a shop. This shop has been neglected and is all messy with dark plants. Our job is to clean it up!
After we get rid of the dark stuff, we see a little scene where the Rhythm Guide fixes a salon chair. To finish the quest, we sit in the chair. Make sure to leave the shop and then go back to the Hopeful Steward to complete the quest. When we do that, the Salon opens for business, and we can visit the Seasonal Shop!
Aviary Village Shops
As of now there are only 2 shops open in the village, both can be visited after completing the first Seasonal Quest.
Seasonal Shop
Available after completing Quest #1
A shop filled with mannequins. From here you can purchase Seasonal Cosmetics and take a look at the Ultimate Rewards. F2P and Season Pass players can both find fun cosmetics to wear!
Hair Salon
Available after completing Quest #1
A shop owned by the Rhythm Guide, sit down in their special chair to try on and wear different hairstyles. You can wear available hairstyles that you don’t own while staying in the shop.
Seasonal Spirits
Seasonal spirits can take many forms, and while usually these spirits look like typical spirits you’d find in the game, for this season they take the form of mannequins in the Seasonal Shop. From these mannequins, we can buy the new Seasonal Items!
Some items have a special Revival Logo next to them, which means only Season Pass holders can get them. If you’re a free-to-play player, you won’t be able to collect these items. But don’t worry, items from these mannequins will come back as Traveling Spirits, but it might take many years for that to happen. When they return, they will probably cost more regular candles, hearts, and ascended candles. You can learn more about Traveling Spirits by checking the Wiki.
Now, for all players, you need to collect Season Candles to unlock the basic rewards from spirits. If you have a Season Pass, you can unlock the connected item for free right after you get the basic reward. At the very top of each mannequin, there’s a Seasonal Heart. This heart is special for Season Pass holders, and you’ll need it to unlock Ultimate Rewards later. To get to this heart, you first have to unlock all the basic rewards from a mannequin.
