This happens when Plague Bats collide with a wall and naturally reach the end of their lifecycle. It’s important to note that these deaths are not attributed to your actions. Следовательно, these occurrences, where Plague Bats die by colliding with a wall, do not count as you killing them. Поэтому, there’s no need to restart the level when this happens.
