This isn’t a step-by-step walkthrough. Em vez de, I’ll provide some general tips and tricks that could prove useful throughout the game. I’ll also highlight synergies between crewmates that I’ve discovered. I won’t cover the basics like controls since the game explains that well. My aim is to create this guide with newer players in mind, but even experienced ones might find some insights they hadn’t thought of. I won’t dictate the order for reviving crewmates, assuming you can access their info screen (available after the second mission). Please check that before delving into the synergy section. Com isso dito, vamos começar.
Pontas
Dica #1: Frequent Memory Captures
Remember to capture memories regularly. While the game reminds you to do this, it’s common for newcomers to only save when prompted. Capture memories after setting up your actions in Shadow Mode, immediately after they succeed, before crossing a guard’s line of sight, and both before and after taking down a guard. Some challenges may limit memory usage, but don’t hesitate to capture memories often. It prevents progress loss and is an integral game mechanic.
Dica #2: Understanding Alarms
Alarms work differently in this game compared to previous ones by the developers. Alarms are localized, and reinforcements are only called if a guard with a bell is alerted. Às vezes, it can be advantageous to trigger an alarm, as it places guards in unusual positions, creating opportunities to eliminate them during the alarm. Ensure you have someone ready to revive your characters if you intend to use this strategy since they are likely to take damage.
Dica #3: Persistence is Key
No matter which crew you select for a mission, there’s always a way to complete it. Don’t be discouraged if you encounter difficulties later in a mission; there’s always a solution, even if it’s not immediately evident. The exception is when pursuing specific mission challenges, but by then, you should know your goals and can prepare accordingly.
Dica #4: Diversify Your Crew
While it’s tempting to stick with a favorite crew for every mission, changing things up is an essential aspect of the game, and you’ll even be rewarded for it later. Experimenting with different crew members can lead to unexpected synergies and new ways to handle guards. Familiarity with the entire crew, rather than just a few members, can be valuable in later missions.
Truques
In the section above, we’ll discuss techniques that can be employed to dismantle guard setups in the game. These methods may require some practice or a shift in your approach but can be highly beneficial. We’ll also cover character-specific tricks later on.
Trick #1: Distract Stack
This tactic works best when executed in Shadow Mode. Start by setting it up and then sequentially deploying distractions on guards, ensuring that each distraction occurs right as the previous one finishes. Por exemplo, you can use Afia’s time stop followed by Teresa’s Ashen Judgement immediately after Time Freeze concludes. Utilizing the hotkeys in Shadow Mode can streamline this process.
Trick #2: Non-ability Distractions
These distractions are particularly effective during the day but can also be employed at night. They include creating footsteps in sandy or muddy areas, extinguishing unlit torches at night, using a tied-up ally, or causing accidental harm to allies. These methods can disrupt guard positions and do not solely rely on the characters you have in your party. They become especially crucial as you tackle more challenging scenarios later in the game.
Trick #3: Prognosticareful
Prognosticars are formidable adversaries in the game, requiring at least two crewmates or environmental elements to eliminate. When the first crewmate distracts or attacks a Prognosticar, it temporarily immobilizes them without alerting nearby guards. Portanto, if you have a means to eliminate a Prognosticar from a distance, you can set up a close-range distraction or attack (that doesn’t trigger their awareness) and then immediately follow it up with the ranged kill, ou vice -versa.
Trick #4: Heads Up
Normalmente, you can only observe the field of vision of one guard at a time. No entanto, with a bit of patience, you can discern the extent of their vision cones by watching them for a moment. Adicionalmente, by observing their model, you can determine where the guard is looking based on the direction their head is pointing. This knowledge can be used to sneak past or eliminate threats when guards are not actively looking in your direction, even if their viewcone isn’t currently active.
Synergies
Aqui, we’ll explore some crewmate synergies that can enhance your gameplay experience. Some of these synergies become even more potent once the crew members are upgraded. Let’s take a closer look:
Gaelle and Quentin
This synergy is quite straightforward. Gaelle can shoot crewmates into specific locations, and Quentin can use his fishing ability to bring crewmates to his position. Por exemplo, you can shoot Quentin up a wall, and he can then fish Gaelle and another crewmate up to his location.
Pinkus and Gaelle
While not a major synergy, Pinkus can effectively take control of a guard and bring them over to Gaelle. This essentially provides Gaelle with free ammunition by converting an enemy into an ally.
Quentin and Teresa
Quentin’s fishing hook isn’t limited to downed enemies; it can also be used with crewmates’ objetos. Once Teresa is upgraded, any crewmember can pick up her bolt, and this includes Quentin. He can use his fishing hook to retrieve her bolt from a distance.
Teresa and Pinkus
Similar to the previous synergy, Pinkus can operate undetected, making it easy for him to pick up Teresa’s shots for her, particularly after Teresa has been upgraded.
Afia and John
Afia and John have a couple of ways to complement each other. They can bypass guard viewcones using Blink and The Below, and they can also use these abilities to teleport onto guards and eliminate them. This allows for taking out Kindred or guards who are observing each other with minimal risk. Afia’s Time Freeze is precisely long enough for John to execute a kill using Anchor Up and return to The Below before the duration expires, particularly effective against Acolytes.
Toya and Quentin
Building on what was mentioned earlier about Quentin’s ability to interact with crewmates’ objetos, this applies to Toya’s paper doll as well. The doll can be placed on the ground where Quentin was, potentially in the path of a patrolling guard. Quentin can also swiftly extract Toya from a dangerous situation, and she can teleport back to her previous location if she places a paper doll there first.
Suleidy and Pinkus
These two may seem like an unlikely pair, but they actually work together remarkably well. Pinkus can distract guards, allowing Suleidy to slip past undetected. Suleidy can also use her Wander Dust to send a guard into a corner, making it easier for Pinkus to possess them. Their abilities complement each other more than you might initially think.
Afia and Suleidy
While a smaller synergy, Suleidy’s bush creation can serve as perfect extensions for Afia’s Blink range. Afia can Blink from bush to bush without being detected, and Suleidy can easily extend the distance that Afia can travel undetected.
There may be more synergies yet to be discovered or experienced. If you have a favorite combination that isn’t listed here, please feel free to share it in the comments.
Character-Specific
Afia:
- Higher tier guards are less affected by her Time Freeze.
- Her Grand Blink upgrade only has one charge per mission, so plan your strategy accordingly.
Toya:
- Toya’s teleport range to his paper doll is infinite, making it a versatile tool for both offense and escape.
injetar:
- Suleidy’s Cover Seed bushes briefly attract guards’ attention as they grow, potentially disrupting their view cone patterns.
Gaelle:
- Once upgraded, Gaelle’s melee takedown becomes as fast as those of Suleidy and Toya, making her more versatile.
- Gaelle’s abilities are well-suited for no-kill runs, as most of her abilities do non-lethal damage.
Quentin:
- Quentin’s Golden Head shines, making it visible from any distance in a guard’s view cone at night.
- The duration of Quentin’s Treasure Rod is the same whether triggering environment kills or not, so it’s always fast.
- Fishing up tied-up or unconscious enemies with Quentin’s rod does not count as a kill, making it useful for challenges.
- Quentin can use his rod on merely knocked-out enemies without tying them up first.
- He must wait until dying or knockout animations are finished before reeling in downed enemies.
Mindinho:
- Pinkus cannot be detected unless he performs something specifically suspicious, like firing his host’s gun or interacting with certain objects.
- Even Prognosticars and Iudexes can’t detect Pinkus when he possesses someone.
- Tracks made by Pinkus while possessing someone are not suspicious.
John:
- When using Anchor Up on a Prognosticar, John stays in the Below for the duration, and he cannot be spotted by other guards.
- Using Anchor Down within a guard’s view cone will cause the guard to lose sight of John, making him ideal for avoiding alarms when upgraded.
Tereza:
- Teresa is most effective when upgraded, as she won’t have to retrieve her bolt after every shot.
- Her crossbow shot has a long kill or knockout animation, but another crewmember can interrupt it and speed it up by tying up or carrying the body.
General Knowledge
- Higher-ranked guards are mostly immune to most distractions, but tied up or dead allies will always prompt an investigation.
- When pursuing challenges, ensure you read the instructions carefully. “Matar” means the target must be dead; knocking out and tying up won’t suffice. Por outro lado, be cautious about tossing tied-up enemies into water or canyons, as it counts as killing them.
- You can replay all missions after finishing the story, so don’t worry if you miss something initially. Some challenges can be completed accidentally during your first playthrough.
