This guide explains a trick to join a secured Palworld server when Palworld version 0.1.2.0 was released on January 19, 2024. Para começar, make sure you have the IP address and port number of the server you want to join.
Issue Overview
In the current version of Palworld v0.1.2.0, released on January 19, 2024, there’s a problem with the Community Server listing. This issue particularly affects connecting to private password-protected servers. When attempting to connect to a community server, the system loads a list of 200 servidores. Searching for a specific server only scans through this initial list. While you can load 200 more servers by clicking the “Display next 200 results” botão, finding your desired server becomes random due to the extensive number of servers.
If you opt to connect directly using an IP address and port, you can bypass the server list, but encountering password-protected servers poses a challenge. The connection method designed for non-community servers, not listed on the community server list, does not prompt for passwords. Consulte PocketPair’s server setup documents para mais detalhes.
This guide introduces a workaround to specify a password for a direct IP connection. The server owner must provide you with the IP address. This is only required for the initial connection, as subsequent connections can be made using the “Recent Servers” listing.
It’s worth noting that PocketPair might address the server listing issue without a game update, update the game to prompt for a password in direct IP connections, or eliminate this workaround at any time. If any changes occur, please leave a comment to share the information. Before reporting the issue yourself, check if others have recently reported it to avoid spam.
How to Connect to a Password Protected-Servers
To connect to a password-protected server via a direct IP in Palworld, siga estas etapas:
- Open Palworld and click on “Join a multiplayer game.”
- Selecione “Community Servers.”
- In the bottom box, replace the default “127.0.0.1:8211” with the server’s IP and port.
- Observação: 127.0.0.1 is your own computer’s IP, e 8211 is the default port for a Palworld server.
- Choose any server with a lock icon next to its “World Name,” as if you were joining it. You won’t actually join this server.
- If you can’t find a server with a lock icon, clique no “Display next 200 results” button and check the next set of results.
- When prompted for a password, enter the server’s password from Step 3 e clique “OK.”
- On the next prompt asking if you want to join the server, clique “No.”
- Clique “Conectar” at the bottom next to where you entered the IP address in step 3.
- You should now be connected to the server.
- The next time you want to join the server, it will be listed under the “Recent Servers” seção. Simply find the server in the listing, connect normally, and enter the password. No workaround is needed as long as the server is still on your Recent Servers listing.
