If unlocking the door doesn’t work, make sure Police Officer Douchebag is following you closely. Sometimes, the door might require both you and the officer to be in close proximity to open. If the issue persists, proceed to the next instruction.
The PhysX Config Fix
Option 1:
Turn off PhysX and turn on multithreading support in the settings. You don’t need any unofficial patches. The only thing affected by PhysX is the coat of the character called Dudes. It’s not a big issue, and you’ll experience fewer crashes if you disable it.
To stop the game from using “PhysX” and to turn on multithreading, follow these steps. Locate the autoexec.cfg file in “<path-to-game>/p3/cfg/”. Open the file with a text editor, and add the following lines:
physx_enabled 0 r_threaded_particles 1 r_threaded_renderables 1 snd_mix_async 1
Option 2:
Are you playing without fighting? Avoid using the Tazer and opt for the Fart Gun instead. If you’re not pursuing a pacifist run, attempt restarting the level from the autosave. If that doesn’t work, the only solution might be to start a previous mission.
