This is a general guide for the game World Seed during the early days of Early Access. Things are subject to change and this guide in the future may not be as valid. For now this may serve you as a general understanding of the game and how to effectively play it. These are my opinions about world seed and how I view the game, view at your own discretion.
I hope something of note helps you better understand what and how to play the game World Seed. We will be covering Game Play Basics and this can be considered as a Walkthrough.
Ogólny
I will add general game tips or knowledge here that may not fit into the other categories listed. This section will be the most edited over time if and when applicable.
GS = Gear Score
HS = High Score
WS = World Seed
Inv = Inventory
Char = Character
Tile = The place where you’re currently standing, inside a single hexagon
Center = Middle of the seed, crafting resides, the arrow on character feet point to the center
Seeds = Allow you to teleport to a region of said type of seed. Requires seed type for map type.
Hour Glass = Every hour the word changes and resets randomly for each seed
Tiers = I, II, Iii, Iv, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X
Some tiers are colored and I am still trying to figure this one out and what they mean.
This game is a big grind for GS, becoming strong you’ll hit a higher HS Rank. The first one to 1 million gets a cool prize from the developer. Remember World Seed is a repetition and casual game. Something to do overtime and not overly complicated. Keep grinding away to increase that GS even little by little at times and other times in chunks. Fighting for some better gear to take on better/higher mobs for the same result just higher numbers.
Ogień, Natura, Ziemia, Woda, Błyskawica, Frost, and Void are all the elements in the game. Attunement means that you’ve made something or all of your gear attuned for said element. Each element has a region in the game. So you’ll want to attune your character’s gear for each element or region to be most effective.
Some starting racial traits grant you bonuses and negative effects depending on which type of character you choose. It’s not wise to take a Dwarf who has a racial attunement for Fire in the Frost or Water regions. This does not mean a Dwarf can never but statistically you’ll want to keep your Dwarf mostly in the Fire region for the best attunement or alignment.
All characters have a negative -25% trait with void and start with the same HP to level the playing field. So choose a character you like the best or if you’ve played before and know what regions you’ll mostly like to play in.
Food for thought the basic starting region is nature and a nature or fire character might net you the easier starting points. Later you will have the option to obtain more than one character, must pass silver or HS rank of 99 for your first opportunity.
Starting tips:
- You may move tiles without skulls and continue without interacting at all
- Skull tiles require combat so be ready
- Further from the center, the more difficult the tiles become
- Higher the Tier of the tile the more difficult the tiles become
- Adventure out and gather a lot of materials to put into storage to craft later on
- High Tier Tiles; priority is materials w/ elements, skrzynie, then gather materials, if none take coin (if you can not beat the tile in a fight which more than likely will be not)
- Dismantle everything to learn how to craft it and later dismantle again upgrade the GS if higher
- Na początku, HP and DMG bonuses are your best friend for stats on trophies and gear
- Stay in the center area to fight and adventure out to collectAs the game stands right now you’re able to have more inventory than the space allows. So you can carry an indefinite amount of items. I feel later on that the developer may add a restriction to this. If you’re over the limit you can not move and maybe find more ways we can increase our inventory limits. Some dungeons drop a lot a lot of items. You’ll always come out of a dungeon full. Maybe more backpacks will be added later or I think a limitation to this mechanic may be added. Na razie, don’t abuse this mechanic too much because once it gets fixed up properly you don’t want to be suffering from it.
Crafting
CRAFTING: When crafting if you combine three of the same item type and tier, like materials or trophies, you’re able to upgrade it to the next tier. So combining three Tier I wood will net you one Tier II wood. Take note that when crafting lower tier materials into higher tier materials this way you have an RnG chance to get a free elemental upgrade into the next tier.
Also take note that when crafting let’s say an armor piece you’ll need to use the same tier in-order to make said armor. So if you desire a Tier III armor, you need all the materials to be Tier III as well for each slot. For instance if it requires iron and wood, both iron needs to all be Tier III as well as the wood all needs to match for the Tier III.
Now if you use elemental materials on said armor, regardless of tier, you have a chance for it to produce an armor piece of said element. This is how you can get elemental armor for each region type. Fire protection will not proc in the Water zone and is only useful for the Fire zone tiles. Having elemental protection will net you gains in damage and damage reduction.
The Gear Score or GS of an item is the number is displayed in between the dragon icons on the center of the image displayed.
On this armor the GS is 5, take note that GS is the main grind of the game. This indicated how strong your equipment. High Score or HS is how strong you are. Each piece of said gear adds to a total gear score. This single piece of armor as aforementioned has a value GS 5 for Tier I Steel Cuirass. The armor value is 25 and will increase with higher GS. The Stats such as 10% Armor etc may or may not change depending on the said item/gear.
Dismantling
DISMANTLING: The way dismantling works in World Seed is every time you dismantle a piece of gear you will obtain part of the materials that were used to craft said gear and the knowledge to craft said gear as well.
You will want to dismantle everything you find at the start in-order to start growing your crafting list. You will also want to dismantle items you already have but at a higher GS or Gear Score in order to gain the knowledge to craft said item at higher levels.
So if you found a Tier I Iron Chest at GS 13 and dismantled it, you are able to craft all Tiers of Iron Chest at GS 13. If you later find let’s say Tier III Iron Chest at GS 9, this will not net you any gains. However if you find a Tier III Iron Chest at GS 21, dismantling this, you are able to craft all Tiers of Iron Chest at GS 21.
Rynek
Rynek: At the start the market offers some items available to you that you’ll want to purchase. First thing first when starting a new character you’ll want to grab the best Tier Bag. This is the only Tiered item that the Tier actually matters. This will allow you more slots in your characters backpack or inventory space. Tier I +1 slot, Tier II +2 slots etc.
So to start find the best bag on the market you’re able to purchase. Right click the said item, it moves to the bar on the right, pay for said item with coin, it then moves to your inventory. Once it’s in your inventory right click on it to equip said item. Currently you’re only able to have one bag per backpack to increase to slots of inventory space one may carry. Always look in the market here to upgrade this item.
Also notice the green arrows on the images displayed, this annotates an item is strong than you currently have equipped. I highly recommend you visit the market often and take said items to dismantle. It will allow you to learn new crafting knowledge to craft more items. Once you’ve learned a craft you find more items, maybe even here in the market, to increase their GS or gear score.
Later in the game the market here will allow you to purchase more characters for you can create parties to roam the world seed. You will need to progress your HS or high score to 99 or silver or better for these options to open up. The market also works off of your current GS or gear score, so if you’re current GS is 21 it will offer items near the GS 21 zakres.
Questing
Questing: The questing area allows you to take upon new quests for rewards while exploring world seed. The quests refresh five new quests every hour. Based upon your current HS or High Score this will determine what types of quests will be offered.
The GS or gear score of rewards is determined based off of the furthest HS high score. So the strongest create you defeated will determine the gear score rewards for the quests overall. This is a good way to upgrade your character into new gear to progress your GS rank. Yes by doing quests.
The quests also take form in what region or element you may find the quest to be completed. So if it shows a lightning bolt it’s going to be in that area of the world you may find those creatures to kill. Keep searching for the type of creature on or in the element displayed region. May the quests ever be in your favor and the rewards just for the cause.
Enchanting
Enchanting: You will want to have a gear set for each region or element and attune your character to fit that region. In-order to do this you will need to craft gear with materials aligning for the elements they provide. Some times those elements offered on said raw materials will not net you the proper gains you need to be properly attuned.
This is where enchanting comes into play and effect. You can bring gear to the enchantment area and enchanted gear provides attunement for said element of choice. Remember the core focus of the game play Fire will not proc or assist you in Water. You must have a Fire element attuned set and a Water element attuned set to be most effective in each one of those said regions.
Enchanted weapons and shields provide a Chance on Hit effect.
