Attacking
Attacking is the complex action of pressing the left mouse button, or a bumper on the controller. If you want to get fancy, there are charge attacks, down strikes, charged down strikes, and jump strikes. Charge attacks are basically useless. They leave you completely open to get combo-ed, when instead you could do a simple 2 Lub 3 hit combo which allows you to back off or block if you start losing or getting hit. Down strikes and also pretty useless. They are just normal attacks, but you attack down. Good for hunting lizards, bad for clubbing cannibals. Then charged down strikes. I have no words to describe how useless this thing is. You might as well just not attack and let yourself get hit, because doing a charged down strike usually results in you taking a lot of damage and losing a lot of stamina. Then there are the jump strikes. These things hit HARD. They extremely situational, but they can 1-2 shot cannibals and make them explode into little meaty bits. There are of course stealth attacks, but those require time, effort, energy, and most importantly brain cells, of which I have very little.
Bloking
Blocking is also extremely simple. Hold right mouse button or a bumper. Zasadniczo, if you don’t wanna take damage, just press the block button. Block stat does kind of matter, but honestly, blocking reduces damage and that’s all you need to know.
Dodging
Dodging, unlike all the others, is both not a considered a full mechanic, but also the most difficult and effective out of all of them. The way you dodge is you jump backwards or side to side. If you start getting combo-ed, you cant dodge or pull back, so you got to dodge before you start getting hit. It prevents all damage, and requires very little stamina, but you got to get very good at it.
