Why is team structure important?

Team structure matters because it helps you manage your teams better. When you organize your Senior, Reserve, and Youth teams, it becomes easier to handle them. This not only simplifies player transfers but also optimizes training.

When you start with a new club, a recommended first step is to transfer all players from your Reserve Team and Youth Team to the Senior Team. The previous manager might have made mistakes, and depending on your tactics, you might find that some of these players are a better fit than the current Senior Team members alone. Keep reading to understand how to manage each team and plan for the future accordingly.

Senior Team

Your main team is super important, and I’m sure you’re aware of that.

In your club, the top-notch players should be part of this squad—the ones you want participating in your competitions.

The best way to organize your Senior Team is by looking ahead. Aim for a team size of at least 44 gracze (lub przynajmniej 22 Lub 33 if you can’t reach 44 but have 33 Lub 22 registered for competitions).

Since football allows 11 players from each team on the field, it’s a good idea to multiply that by 4, making it 44.

This strategy ensures you not only have your starting lineup but also a substitute for every position. Plus, you’ll have backups in case of injuries and young players you want to train alongside the experienced ones. This makes it easier for them to develop to the standards you expect and become part of the team’s social groups.

Here’s an example: One of my backup players got a long injury, but luckily, I have two others ready to step in until he recovers.

For the last 11 youth players, it’s okay to loan them out, but make sure to attach the “Can Be Recalled” clause. This gives you the flexibility to bring them back if needed.

This setup provides depth for rotation in case your players get tired, reducing the risk of injuries.

Avoid putting anyone on this team up for transfer. Dlaczego? Because these are the players you’ve identified as important, and you don’t want to sell them. If you decide to sell a player, move them to the Reserve Team and bring in someone else to replace them.

Even if they get upset about being in the Reserve Team, it doesn’t matter since you want to part ways with them anyway. It might even encourage them to leave willingly. Just be sure that you’re certain about selling the player.

Reserve Team

This is where you keep all the players who aren’t ready for the Senior Team or the Youth Team.

It’s like a simple team used for storage. You can also make money if you find good-paying fixtures or if the Reserve Team is in a league that gives rewards.

You can even fill this team with good players and loan them out to make a profit. If you don’t plan to loan them, selling is another option.

Think of the Reserve Team as your transfer list.

Youth Team
