This guide outlines how to fish in Amazing Cultivation Simulator, as well as the mechanics and potential benefits of fishing.
Foreward
This is a guide on fishing in ACS. It may mention other aspects such as artifact crafting, refining, travel, and food management, but will not cover these topics in detail. The guide is currently in progress, and may not be finished when you read it. If you have any questions about fishing you want to see answered in this guide, feel free to leave a comment.
What to Expect
Fishing in ACS isn’t particularly resourced intensive, but there are a few things you’ll want to consider before you get really invested.
This section covers the resources, requirements, and effort required for fishing in ACs.
Fishing in ACS isn’t very demanding, but there are a few minimum requirements. Potrzebujesz:
- Someone who can fish. The only thing this person really needs is to be able to stand (conscious and unflopped), and a free gear slot to carry a fishing pole. Arms and eyes are optional. For long periods of fishing, someone who doesn’t need to eat can also be helpful.
- A fishing pole. Any element can catch some kinds of fish, certain fish will require a specific element. The higher the rod’s tier, the faster the user will hook fish. You can make a fishing rod with bamboo and processed materials at the handicraft bench.
- A body of water or blood. This body of water will require at least one space that is bordered on two adjacent sides by water/blood. Water and blood is interchangeable within the same body of water and can support another water or blood square despite being of a different type.
This picture shows some of the smallest water placement combinations that can be used to fish. Squares with a green checkmark can be fished in, while squares with a red X cannot.
There are also a few things that can make your fishing experience more ideal, as opposed to a hectic mess. Done improperly, there is also a chance that fishing can result in your sect becoming a smoldering ruin. Idealnie, you also want:
- A guard. It is possible to fish up demon beasts of whatever level your reputation attracts, and depending on the fishing hole’s location, they might have an immediate inroad to the center of your school. Make sure your guard is able to quickly and reliably kill any fished up demon beasts.
- A storage spot. Small fish qualify as ‘meat’ for the purposes of sorting criteria, and large fish can only be sorted into storage areas with the ‘only large fish’ box checked. Configure these ahead of time to make sure your storage piles are not suddenly inundated with piles of assorted fish.
- An illuminated fishing rod. Illumination will cause the rod to automatically reel in any fish it hooks, removing the constant attention requirement from fishing.
How to Fish
Now that you know what you’ll need, it’s time to learn how to fish.
This section will cover the mechanics of fishing, and the fishing minigame.
Have your fisherperson equip their fishing rod. It should take up one of the spaces in the miscellaneous gear category; this is the same gear category as pickaxes and acupuncture needles fit into.
You should see a new button appear along the top of your fisherperson’s basic information panel. This button will have a green fishing pole icon. Click that button, and click a suitable space in a body of water. Your fisherperson will queue fishing as their next activity.
Do not speed up time, and do not unselect your fisherperson. Hooking fish happens in relation to real time, not game time. Once you have waited several seconds, you’ll see a flashing brown fishing pole circle icon appear above your character’s information panel. This will only appear while the information panel is on screen. Click the flashing button.
Your fisherperson will play a catching fish animation, and then hurl their catch onto the ground nearby. Fish of the same type will stack in the same pile, so don’t worry about the ground being covered in individual fish. The caught fish will engage their spoil timer at this point.
If an event window pops up, Następnie gratulacje! Your fisherperson caught a large fish! These large fish will not stack, have to be manually unbanned, and will have a weight associated with them. You can track the heaviest catch weight on your fisherperson’s stats panel.
If you wait too long with the game unpaused, the flashing button will disappear and the fish will get away. Nie martw się, you do not need to recast the hook. Your fisherperson will continue fishing and will hook another fish in a moment.
If you fish up a demon beast, have one of your cultivators beat it up. You will get the loot associated with a demon beast, so this can be a good thing. If you do not have a guard nearby, then remember to remove the fishing pole from your fisherperson’s corpse so you can give it a shot with another unlucky soul. Remember to cry at their funeral so their family doesn’t realize it wasn’t an accident.
You might also fish up a Yaoguai. These yaoguai are at a cultivation level dependent on your sect’s reputation, and will act as invaders. If they survive long enough, they will try to steal your things and retreat, so have your guards take care of them.
Your fisherperson may also fish up random materials and wildlife. These are pretty straightforward, treat them as you would any other loot or wildlife. Fished up wildlife is not initially aggressive, but may become aggressive depending on their typical wild behavior.
