Want to win a Totale oorlog: Warhammer III battle where you’re outnumbered 10-to-1 and get the “Obliterate the Odds” prestatie? Check out this guide for an easy method to nail it every time in a new campaign!
Starting a New Morghur Campaign
To kick off your guide, you’ll want to make sure you have the “Call of the Beastmen” DLC and access to Morghur Shadowgave.
Starting with the campaign setup, initiate a new Morghur campaign within Immortal Empires. Voor de eenvoud, I tackled this on Normal battle difficulty, but feel free to adjust to your preference as it should still function effectively.
As you hit turn 1, make your way northward towards the province capital of Bilbali, and then conclude your turn there. It’s crucial to avoid heading south towards Margritta at this point, as it houses a significantly tougher battle due to the army garrisoned within the city.
As you transition to turn 2, execute a bold move by disbanding your entire army except for Morghur, and promptly launch an attack on the settlement. Met Morghur’s siege attacker trait, you’ll bypass the need for any siege equipment, allowing for an immediate assault.
The Battle
In the campaign, Morghur boasts a remarkable ability called “Aura of Vile Transmutation,” which continuously inflicts damage on all nearby units. What’s intriguing is that unlike similar effects, Morghur’s ability operates perpetually without the necessity of being engaged in combat.
The crux of this strategy lies in positioning Morghur strategically under the overhang by the settlement gate, where he can steadily deplete the health of the units stationed on the walls above him. It’s essential to ensure that Morghur refrains from attacking the gate directly but instead remains stationary under the overhang. By setting the battle to maximum speed, you’ll witness the gradual retreat of the weakened units from the walls, making way for fresh replacements.
As the AI potentially relinquishes its hold on defending the walls, Morghur, even at level 1, possesses formidable resilience with 75% missile resistance coupled with regeneration. This enables him to effortlessly dispatch the remaining low-ranking melee units while the missile units opt to maintain a distance from within the city fortifications. Vervolgens, breaching the gate and entering the city should provoke the melee units into engaging you directly.
With the melee units addressed, the focus shifts to dealing with the lingering missile units. Gelukkig, adopting cover directly beneath the low wall also proves effective against these units, allowing Morghur to drain them safely from below.
Upon neutralizing a sufficient number of the remaining archer units, the remaining enemy forces typically retreat, securing victory for your campaign.
Problemen oplossen
Why didn’t this achievement work for me when I did a different battle?
- The achievement mistakenly states “Win a battle while you are outnumbered,” causing confusion. Winning with just a few units against a larger force won’t trigger it. Liever, you must emerge victorious in a battle where the odds are overwhelmingly against you.
What if I don’t own Call of the Beastmen?
- If you lack the Call of the Beastmen DLC, vrees niet. You can still achieve this feat by employing a single formidable character, such as Skarbrand, who can sustain himself in combat. He’s a prime choice from the base game for executing a one-man doomstack strategy.
