Nioh Complete Edition – Hino-Enma Boss Guide and Tips

This guide will show you how to beat Hino-Enma in Nioh. This encounter will first happen in the Kyushu Region mission Deep In The Shadows.

If you discover a way to use it to your advantage early in the game, she is vulnerable to the Lightning element.

Since she can inflict Paralysis as a status effect, wear the best “Paralysis Omamori Charms” you have to decrease the duration of its impact.

For the same reason, it’s useful to have a shortcut for the “Antiparalytic Needle” to quickly remove Paralysis if you get hit by the attack.

In Combat

You can use any weapon or stance you like, but I’m sharing tips as a Katana user.

Throughout the battle, she switches between two phases, either being on the ground or flying in the air.

When she’s on the ground, she switches between:

1. Performing a 2-3 hit melee combo, especially with a kick variant. It’s safest to wait until she finishes the combo before landing your own hit. There’s also an alternative combo using her parasol, and similarly, it’s best to wait it out before attacking. Attempting to block is not recommended, even though it’s possible, as she can drain your Ki. If accidentally caught in it, try to avoid the blocking route.
2. Unleashing a paralysis blast. Listen to the voiceline she says before it to time your dodge to the side. If you’re close enough, you can run up to her and land a hit after dodging. If you’re too far away, it’s better not to be greedy. If the paralysis lasts longer than desired, you can use “Antiparalytic Needles” to cure it.
3. Employing a long-range wing spin attack when you are further away. This move can be reliably blocked.

Later in the fight, she introduces a grabbing move. If she is close to you, she reaches forward quickly; you can roll to evade it. Zo niet, she will run towards you to perform the grab. If successful, she steals health and inflicts significant damage. Echter, if she misses, you have an opportunity to deal damage.

While airborne, she employs:

1. The same paralysis blast as in her grounded phase. If you couldn’t roll out, gebruik “Antiparalytic Needles” to counter the paralysis.
2. Shuriken throwing, but if you keep moving, they often miss, and even if you get hit accidentally, the damage is not significant.
