Larian Studio's, in their latest hotfix #18, has made an unexpected change by reorganizing the .exe files of Baldur's poort 3. This action has resulted in the disruption of many mods that rely on the script extender or the mod fixer.
For those who have been affected and are seeking a solution, I’ve come across a fix after extensive searching online.
Let op: Implementing this fix will restore the game to its state prior to hotfix #18. Echter, it’s important to understand that the changes introduced in hotfix #18 will not persist once you revert. If you’ve already played with hotfix #18 applied, it’s uncertain what impact reverting to a previous version may have on your saved game. It’s advisable to backup your saves before proceeding to ensure data integrity.
How to Fix Mods After the New Update
To rectify issues with mods following the recent update, volg deze stappen:
- Press Windows + R to open the run prompt.
- Enter the following line to access the Steam command console in your Steam client: stoom://open/console
- In the Steam command console, input the following command to download the bin files from before hotfix #18 (ongeveer 50 MB):
download_depot 1086940 1419652 8231067205656009020 [<delta manifestid>] [<depot flags filter>]
- Once the download completes, locate the downloaded files in your Steam client installation directory. Bijvoorbeeld:
D:\Steam\steamapps\content\app_1086940\depot_1419652
- If desired, back up your BG3 bin folder to ensure no issues arise.
- Overwrite the depot bin folder into your BG3 install folder.
Make sure to maintain the correct file structure. If prompted to overwrite, proceed accordingly. This step should restore everything to how it was before hotfix #18.
