Like Socialism but not the United Sordland Party? Here is a complete walkthrough to make Sordland into the Democratic Communist Republic complete with Communist Party leadership!

This is on version 1.1.8. For the prologue, the important points are:

1. Start rich or middle class. I recommend starting rich just to have more money overall. This is necessary because you will need at least 4 wealth to lobby MP’s for your consitutional changes later on.
2. Join the Red Youth as a youngster, 확실히.
3. Support Soll over Alphonso. Only that vote and how you interact in the intra-party competition matters. You can sit on the sidelines then support Soll or just support Soll throughout the prologue. The important thing is you oppose Alphonso due to his market reforms. I recommend blaming the crisis on him on TV.
4. Promise to enact democratic reforms.

You can take any degree and any amount of cowardice. 몸소, I like to take History because it means you have an actual history with Deivid Wisci rather than a weird one where he’s just your professor. You can also let the refugees through. We won’t be dealing with the unrest anyway, so there will be no coup, but still be diplomatic around the military.

제1장: President Rayne

Turn I

Promises should look like this:

To be specific:

• Promote Planned Economy
• East diplomacy
• Keep immigration relaxed
• Term focus on health OR education. NOT Law & Enforcement NOR Military. 나중에, we will give more funding to health and education, keeping law & enforcement at the same level, and defunding the military.

일반적으로, dialogue options don’t matter too much unless otherwise specified. Overall throughout the whole game though:

• Defer to Iosef’s expertise (despite defunding him, ㅋㅋㅋ)
• Be diplomatic with everyone.
• Be feminist with Monica

I find that this makes things a little bit easier than otherwise, although I’m not sure if it makes a difference.

These are the actions you should take this turn:

• “write a more democratic Constitution with the reformists”
• agree to meet with Marcel Koronti (we’re going to need to be a little corrupt to make sure everything works as planned)
• Veto Electoral Campaign Finance Bill
• “Promote a planned economy as we promised.”
• Invest in a mega-infrastructure project
• Build the L-1 high-speed rail project. Do not be fooled by Lileas Graf in these conversations. She is not a communist, she is just nostalgic for the days of Soll. Her concerns about the Agno-Sords will be covered by a trade deal with Agnolia.
• I recommend investing in Arcasian company. This will double your money as long as you don’t end Turn IV with a -3 government budget. I like to put in -3 personal wealth because I like to be rich. Just make sure that your final wealth will be at least 4. You can also use Tusk’s bribe next turn for this.
• Don’t sick the guards on the reporter!

Turn II

These are the actions you should take this turn:

• “Franc, turn down that racket and open the door!” is the quickest way to get Franc to open the door.
• Don’t jump to conclusions about United Contana funding the red yutes.
• I don’t recommend promising security funding here. If you do fund security, it won’t really help you too much and you’ll have to privatize education.
• Trust the general staff, you’re a man of your word, and Sordland must stand on its feet. Make sure Rumburg knows Sordland is observant and ready.
• React to the situation by visiting affected towns in person.
• Be diplomatic with Tusk and take his bigger bribe (we both know you can do better than that) if your wealth is still at 2 and you didn’t invest OR don’t take his bribe. Honestly your choice here since Tusk will not lead the Oligarchs for most of the game. Personally I like to take the bribe and then give it to Serge to fund his child’s education.
• Provide stimulus checks to the people.
• Take Marcel’s deal. He will be this term’s ‘good billionaire’ 안타깝게도. Antagonizing both billionaires without funding security more AND getting the secret state police leads to capital flight and therefore a wrecked economy and we don’t want that!
• Pick the Sordish State Corporation for construction regardless of Tusk’s bribe. He won’t lead the Oligarchs forever anyway and he doesn’t really care that much for some reason.
• Attend the funeral of Bernard Circas and let the red yutes in without a security detail. Hold your own umbrella!
• Be open to trade deals with Agnolia and Wehlen and supportive of relaxed immigration. Be open to diplomacy with Valgsland.
• Close the consulate in Dome. We can antagonize Rumburg pretty hard in this run without worrying about a war as long as we don’t start the Sordish war machine since we’re joining the CSP.
• We’re keeping vetoes so don’t agree with Mr. Ricter on that (probably doesn’t matter so much)
• End the meeting with Hawker AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. We are not starting an emergency decree run.

Turn III

• Feel free to tell Franc about you past and how a communist revolution is necessary.
• Ban the Young Sords – this actually doesn’t help the country at all, but it is important for the political compass at the end.

Now that we’re on the constitution, here are the changes you must implement:

1. Limit vetoes (3/5 override)
2. Remove Supreme Court’s vote
3. Anything BUT The President may not be impeached. 몸소, I recommend The Assembly and the Supreme Court may impeach because it looks democratic BUT good luck getting both those organs to agree on that.
4. Confidence vote required OR Assembly nominates ministers. I recommend a confidence vote.
5. Do not change the threshold. THIS IS IMPORTANT. If you change the threshold to be lower, the popular front will not form and the Communist Party will have no chance of getting elected.
6. Do not change presidential decrees – important so we can put Soll in prison.
7. Anything on term limits. I like two terms since it cements this as not-Soll, but I’m not sure if it’s necessary.
8. Judges can be impeached by the Assembly – this is necessary because, without it, Soll won’t be convicted.
9. Abolish honorary membership – This makes Soll able to stand trial.

• Be diplomatic with the business council and Mr. Tusk but don’t promise him a tax cut.
• At the budget meeting be diplomatic, but don’t lie.
• Increase health funding, increase education funding, maintain law enforcement funding (or increase it, but privatize education later), and decrease military funding.
• If you end up increasing security funding, DO NOT FORM THE SECRET STATE POLICE (don’t fund Lileas Graf). If you form the Anti-Corruption Police with Morgna, DO NOT POINT THE ACP AT THE OLIGARCHS (we need to keep Koronti out of jail) (You can still point them at the Oligarchs but you’ll have to cover for Marcel and then Ms. Morgna will resign at the end while complaining about the wrong reason). If you point the ACP at the Old Guard DO NOT ARREST LILEAS. We need her to run against us at the primary so we can boost the Communist Party.

제2장: A New Sordland

Turn IV

• Sign the Workers’ Rights Act
• For the regional investment you have 2 actual options if you want all depressed regions to end the game as green; invest in Bergia and then the Morna port later for green infrastructure and yellow production OR invest in Lorren and then the Sarna Agricultural Zone later for yellow infrastructure and green production. 몸소, I like to fix infrastructure. Don’t invest in Agnland since the trade deal with Agnolia will take care of it.
• With Monica, be very feminist and don’t be like Crona. Let her make a speech.
• Give the SSC more funds so the railway can be done on time.
• Increase taxes for large corporations and balance with a decrease of taxes for small businesses.
• Put that little girl in the boy’s program, admire Soll’s portrait, don’t privatize education; reform education.
• With Gloria Tory “try to find some common ground,” said the Justice impeachments will benefit the party, and don’t give concessions. Then when she gives her final condition, be like Crona and take Monica off the schedule at Benfi. 죄송합니다, dear!
• With Albin Clavin, promise him the VP spot (something else). You’ll never give it to him, but it’s the only way to get his support. During the speech don’t talk bad about the Old Guards or whoever just talk about democracy or whatever.
• If your budget is now at -3 이하, restart the game. The next turn will immediately trigger a trade war that tanks your investment and your budget.

Turn V

• Accept United Contana aid.
• Veto the Religious Harmony Bill
• At Petr’s party, I recommend investing in Anrica FC. It helps your popularity just enough I think. This isn’t a necessity, I don’t think.
• When Iosef confronts you on accepting UC aid, say desperate times or Sordish citizens in mind.
• Say Sordish citizens come first, but keep immigration relaxed anyway lol. Say the work for Sordish citizens continues.
• At Benfi be apologetic with Monica and don’t interrupt her outburst. At the end of it say she’s right, but please finish your speech.
• Promise Monica you’ll work with her on women’s rights.
• Do not build Rumburg fortifications. Waste of money since they won’t attack anyway.
• Tell Iosef to keep an eye on the communists you’ve accepted into the country. Be very apologetic about how you defunded the military.
• With Wehlen, negotiate your way down to half-participation in Operation Bear Trap and accept that trade deal. The Bluds will accept one (1) collaboration in genocide but no more!
• With Agnolia, take the trade deal but decline the alliance and the claim over the island. Don’t piss off the PM by overpowering his handshake or giving him a dog. Try to get on his good side even (give him a sword and drink vodka).
• During the speech do not say you will put Soll on trial. Address the opposition responses however you wish.

Turn VI

• Do the ride-along after the ceremony, thank whoever, ride with whoever.
• Remove conscription and agree with everything Iosef says about it. Try to be lenient about the Wehlen mission.
• During the economic meeting, talk about the projects of infrastructure and production.
• If you invested in Bergia earlier, build the Morna port. If you invest in Lorren earlier, build the Sarna Agricultural Zone.
• Do not privatize healthcare, focus on improving rural care.
• Be a realist with Mr. Ricter. Promise him proper credit (그 의미가 무엇이든). Feel free to ask him about that time he nearly tried to sell the country to Arcasia, but you don’t have to.
• Award the Morna port/Sarna AZ contract to the SSC (this time they don’t need extra funding).
• Use the extra education money to build new rural schools.
• Ban creationism and mandate evolution.
• 경비 4 wealth to lobby the assembly.

제3장: Victim of Changes

Turn VII

• In the call with Koronti your first instinct may be to cut him off, but hear him out and take his favor! This will ensure no unrest in the future and you can keep Petr as VP which helps keep your popularity at the level needed.
• Tell Lucian all about your call with Koronti and go down the nationalization path.
• Fully nationalize Bergia Steel, but leave Heart of Sordland alone. This ensures no capital flight and no unrest during your term (as it’s always astroturfed by the Oligarchs). Keeping Koronti as a ‘good billionaire’ is a necessary sacrifice for this term, 그래도.

• Veto the Unified Education Language Act.
• At the assembly it doesn’t really matter what you do. I recommend talking to the MP’s, getting Gloria to speed up the voting, and leaving Soll alone. Take Serge’s good luck charm if you can.
• If you followed this walkthrough perfectly, the vote should be 225 ayes and 26 nays.
• When Mr. Ricter comes, decline the offer for an alliance.
• Grant the Rumburg Whistleblower asylum. This ultimately doesn’t matter due to our joining the CSP, but it’s funny.
• Do whatever you want at the movie premiere. Tell Soll to eff off is my recommendation.
• At the Day of Descension confess to something innocuous (NOT BRIBERY), grab sceptre with left, 무릎을 꿇다, touch sword with right, hand sceptre to archpriest, and pass sword to disciple.
• Send Franc to whatever school you want. Personally I like sending him to the land of communism.
• Trust Iosef’s assessment, get Valgland on your side (don’t say get a rightful place in CSP), and begin negotiations with Valgsland.
• There are lots of guides on how to deal with Edmonds. 이것을 위해, since Morgna is here, this is what you have to do:
• Talk with Ms. Morgna about anything. 몸소, I think it’s fun to bring up that you’re a communist with her.
• When the waiter comes, tell him you’re waiting for someone.
• Stand up for a handshake
• Have Justice Edmonds order before you and then copy her order (salad).
• Ask her about the situation in the Supreme Court
• Ask her what she thinks about the proposal
• “We need a proper balance of power.”
• “We need a better democracy.”
• Respectable Justices like her are against the Old Guard.
• Ensure new processes are respected and executed in transparency.
• Ask her to help, 제발. Do not ask her to accept a bribe or get to the point.
• The judiciary shouldn’t have legislative powers OR the Court has been stopping constitutional change.
• DO NOT TELL HER YOU’RE A MALENYEVIST. You can say you aren’t one or you’re a democratic socialist, but she will not pass the Marxist’s constitution.
• Emphasize how this will open the way for further reforms.
• Power of judicial review.
• Judicial review plays an essential role in limiting powers.
• Only a safety mechanism against threats like Old Guard.
• No plans to try Soll (lie). Just make him a regular citizen.
• When she says yes just say thank you a whole bunch.
• Send Lucian after Justice Heron. If he gets Heron’s support, you won’t have to meet with him. If you have to meet with him, don’t bother giving him anything. You don’t need his vote since the reformers and the centrists are enough.
• Your proposal will now pass with 6 또는 7 votes for it. Give Petr a hug.
• At the meeting immediately after the Supreme Court vote, 말하다 “첫 번째, I want to talk about our new focus and some of my plans forward.”
• Change the party and talk about another plan.
• Impeach the Chief Justice and talk about another plan.
• Investigate Tarquin Soll. For a glorious communist Sordland we must make the reactionary pay for his crimes.
• Don’t promise Lileas Graf to transfer the gendarmerie.
• In the speech just don’t say the future is with the east or west since some people don’t like that.

Turn VIII

• Make the USP party platform socialist. This won’t last but it and the Soll trial should alienate enough conservatives in the USP that you lose at the party conference which we need to secure communist party rule of Sordland.
• Pick the most experienced judge to fill Hawker’s seat. This will ensure Soll goes to prison.
• With your presidential powers, pick De-Sollinisation, Amnesty for Soll-Era prisoners, and one of the free ones that aren’t gender equality in education. I recommend the Fair Trade and Competition Commission since it’ll absorb some of the economic impact of the Luxury tax we’ll do later.

• With Valgsland, get the trade deal, the alliance, recognize their claim on the island and ask for a meeting with the big commie himself Leon Malenyev.
• Call Lucian about the affair, have him investigate your secretary, and tell Lucian you’ll lay the blame for this on the secretary. Marcel Koronti will prep the press so that you can easily get away with keeping Petr as VP. “쉬운. I’ll get Marcel on it.”
• In the speech, you don’t actually have to say she was a Rumburg spy, so maybe don’t.
• Agree with the feminists and approve of the creation of their committee.
• Donate however much you want to the League of Women. You’re done with your money anyway.
• Don’t transfer the gendarmerie to Lileas Graf.
• Start the mass vaccination plan to prevent polio.
• Veto the Less Smoke Bill
• Give free eye tests or free dental care.
• Attend to support the Aschraf Anniversary and make a speech about unity.
• Petr should say the current political situation is “좋아요, but not amazing.” If Petr suggests a war, tell him he’s nuts.
• Expand agricultural industry to finally bring Bergia out of the red and into the green.

제4장: 장군

Turn IX

• Sign the Women’s Liberation Act. Do not worry about the -5 government budget total. This is as low as it will go.
• Veto the Human Dignity Bill as it will just imprison sex workers.
• Sign Mr. Leke’s proposal as a decree.
• Sign the Fair Luxury Tax Act and use the money to Fund the Red Youth.
• Veto the Alcohol Tax Act

• Shoot down Rumburg’s plane and hold a military parade. Do not start the Sordish War Machine. 솔직히, you probably don’t even have to shoot down the plane but I like to try to keep Iosef happy even if he won’t coup me without unrest.
• At the meeting where we invite Malenyev, don’t be too enthusiastic but do accept the meeting. Give them a plain welcome.
• Agree with Malenyev as much as possible and join the CSP. We’re now at a -4 budget and therefore no debt crisis for us!
• Don’t introduce false evidence against Soll.
• Cheer for FC Anrica
• Holl will now congratulate you on fixing the economy. 안타깝게도, either production or infrastructure will be lacking. Don’t take the not-IMF loan since we actually won’t be spending any more money and maybe they’ll want structural adjustments in the next term.
• In the interview say you don’t want a war and the Queen is not crazy enough to go alone against the CSP and hopefully she wants peace.
• Laugh at baseless accusations.
• Say Sordland is involved with the invasion of the island since it turns out they are lol.
• Say whatever you want about the Wehlen situation. I like to be contrite here.
• Lileas will now tell you she is challenging you for the USP ticket. That’s what we want anyway.
• Have fun at the military parada.

With the reforms you’ve pulled off, you should see this headline in The Lachaven Times. This is the party you will soon join.

Turn X

• Do whatever you want at the Alliance of Nations except don’t openly antagonize Rumburg. You don’t want war (not that one is likely). I like to really lean into the role of CSP state and pound my fist. 또한, don’t insult the AN.
• You’re a die-hard Malenyevist. Accept Deivid’s resignation and then Symon Hall and Paskal Beniwoll. Symon because of the planned economy and Paskal because he hates corruption.
• Lucian should endorse Lileas and you should lose the party congress. 기후, tell Petr you’re joining the Popular Front on the side of the CPS (continue politics in another party). DO NOT RESIGN FROM POLITICS.
• Don’t promise Monica you’ll resign at dinner (she’ll sigh). Normally this would be a sign that we’re going to lose the re-election, but we aren’t running for that (and we’ve funded the Red Yutes) so the Popular Front is a shoo-in.

Turn XI

Say whatever you want at the election speech. This is the end of the game proper anyway.

Voter turnout will be low, but the Red Youth will ensure everything runs smoothly. To ensure Rayne’s position as Vice President:
