There are other better guides out there that explain the basics, I’ll skip most of this and go straight for the most optimal builds in my opinion.

This is the most important of all, it all depends on how you wanna play the game.
There are a few viable survivable options in the game.
- Go on the regular (most people), pasture, butchery into soap route.
- farm, mills route
- Check other guides
지. My route
- Horizontal/Vertical 15×15 spacing for forest plantation
- Horizontal/Vertical 20×20 spacing for pasture
- Kinda near a water resource
- No square/rectangular shape mountains are nearby.
Tech Tree
Since I’ll be removing my current marketplace and durable storage yard in the very NEAR future, ill be picking Material recycling very early. Also Im also very lazy to upgrade chopping house into a sawmill. I might as well build immediately a sawmill.
하지만 먼저, rush for herb knowledge!
왜? Herbs are nice of course but you need to obtain flax and agave seeds ASAP!
- Flax > 리넨 > Rough clothes
- Agave > 주정
- 허브 > 건강
If you are lucky,
- Flax can be replaced by any pasture type which only ONE kind of resource to produce Rough clothes (가죽, Wool, Alpaca Wool)
- Agave can be replaced by Potatoes
Advice: Never spend all your tech points immediately because you might need one specific tech in order to survive!
City planning
- Pause the game
- Dump all the desired buildings in a grid
- Don’t forget the edge, you can only build roads
- Ignore mountains
- Think LONG term!
I’ll explain my thinking process and long-term planning step by step.
Townhall & Academy
Townhall is very handy when it comes to accepting immigrants and assigning new admins but its location can be placed anywhere. Where it placed its totally NOT important, the only chase when it’s important, when you have diseases coming in and you want to isolate them in a clinic and let them die without massacring your entire population (yes I’ve learned that in one game when the flu massacred my 1k population.) So it’s wise to build a clinic next to it so they can all die in 1 isolated corner.
Academy, since I don’t prioritize education not so much. I build them in a corner so I can easily turn them on and off those buildings when I need more laborers. Also the chances they will be hit by a tornado is also smaller.
Forest farm
I haven’t activated the tech yet but I use orchard to size them. I’ll remove them once I unpause the game, 하지만, you can use them temporarily for food production. Orchards are the most reliable stable food production in-game.
Production buildings (5×5)
Here I plan my 5×5 production buildings, I’ll be building here my first sawmill/chopping house, tailor, and other temporary buildings (that’s why I have a resource recycling tech point so I won’t waste any resource)
주택
This is my first row/column of housing. I always do in a 12×8 because I can upgrade them later to garden villas. But the first two, which are OUT OF RANGE of my market place, repair shop and a big well. They are dead space so you might as well build somewhat use out of them.
Market place, 교회, Barbershop, Bathhouse and more
You can not make a mistake here, plan very cautiously. Temporarily place storage yards the size of a barbershop and Bathhouse. You’ve noticed that I’ve put 4 market places, 그만큼 3 bottom part will be replaced by houses, 3x8x8 = 12×8.
Storage Center
Since the storage center is VERY deep in the tech tree, I just temporarily build a storage yard 10×10. Keep in mind that a storage center is 11×10. So leave 1 grid empty. It is also handy to start all the wood & food you wanna store up.
전원
This used to be my planation which is 8×10 so it’s bigger than now. But the Miao faction has an OP farm and they have an 8×8 크기.
Advice: Planning is everything. If you plan carefully and do not waste any space, saves you a lot of headaches later in the game. 물론, there are better and optimal city planning guides out there but this is the easiest one without taking too much headache.
Remember there are some magical *numbers*. 그들은 8,10,12 그리고 24
- 8 = 4×4 housing or 4×7 smitty
- 10 = 5×5 production building or 4×4 housing + 6×6 production building or weird-shaped building like 5×7 tailors
- 12 = 8×8 farm + 4×4 housing

- 5×7 + 5×7 + 5×5 + 5×5 =10×24
- 3 엑스 8 = 24
- 10+10+4 = 24
- 12+12 = 24
Phase I – 생존하다
How to survive the first phase in the game.
- Build houses (Adults / 2 = amount houses + 1)
- Sawmill/Chopping house (Bare minimum fuel is 250 in stock)
- 진료소
- Big well (Bare minimum water is 250 in stock)
- Repair shop
- 교회
- The rest
Do not BUILD that 2nd marketplace because you won’t be using it till you have recycling or need to build more houses
Oh and always have at least an even number of builders.
Keep this number an eye on so you won’t waste any limited manpower you have now.
Phase II – 확장
Before you’re going to build like a madman, 명심해라, you better have Herb knowledge. Till then only use “Fell trees” 그리고 “Gather rocks”. To not miss out any seeds out there.
Since I have no new seeds yet, I see some pasture out there, so I decided to go for the pasture route. I slowly start building this new section:
- 20×20 pasture
- Again same stuff as before 3x marketplace = 24×8 주택
- Pasture! Time to build a hunting hut
Before you do this, be careful you have enough available people. If not wait till the new immigration has arrived (Town hall is required).
Since I caught an unlucky (turkey) pasture. Time to hunt for flax!
If your tools and clothes are closing to 0 in stock, build a smitty and tailor. They can survive 1 winter, but don’t let it last too long because it will seriously hurt the pace of your expansion! 또한, keep your food stock around 1000. 아래로 떨어지면, turn on the fields and harvest some. Till you have enough to live off turkeys.
Phase III – Flax & Agave

In my case it’s clothing. It’s very advisable to put your farm and your production building as close as possible and in a cluster. So it won’t be very long on the road. 또한, time to spend your tech points wisely! If you have alpaca or sheep, you can skip flax.
Since I have my 2nd immigration, I decided to build more houses for them next to their new employment.

This is a bit more complicated.
In order to produce spirits, you need the following things in mind.
- Agave farm 8×8
- Water Source (Reservoir)
- Distillery 6×6

I used my tech points for sand mining and clean water. 그 동안에, I finally found a buffalo for leather. At least have 2 pastures in case of a plague outbreak. This comes in handy later for producing tool kits. Meanwhile just stock leather. If it becomes out of control, just make rough clothes.
Advice: Keep your tech points.
If you have found agave, use it on sand mining and clean water. And build the infrastructure for it. 주택, 전원, sandpit, reservoirs, and distilleries.
If you have leather or wool, skip flax and just build tailors. 그렇지 않은 경우, use it weaving and start producing flax. And build the infrastructure for it. 주택, 전원, textile mills, and tailors.
