I’ve seen quite a lot of people, including myself, that thought this achievement was bugged. Since this achievement is really difficult and tedious it can be a real pain to obtain, mostly if you consider there’s almost no explanation about the details and buts. I will try to do my best to tell everything I know and make your life much easier.
The objective is to make the academy control half of a huge size galaxy by gifting them systems with peaceful conversion with the Nakalim. This is how I did it:
Creating the game
The first step is to set up the game correctly. Pick the Nakalim and set the galaxy size on huge (~을 위한 10 플레이어), this is required for the achievement so any smaller size won’t work. Also it may sound obvious but don’t even try to do it on a bigger galaxy either, it will take you forever and I’m pretty sure that nobody has even tried it, so we don’t know if the achievement will unlock on bigger maps.
Note that you don’t need to set all 10 플레이어, you can play with fewer opponents but its better to have as many players as possible.
In this game you will need to peacefully convert enemy systems and give them to the Academy so it is also very important to choose your opponents manually. There’s a few factions that will make things harder here, 같은 Unfallen 그리고 Umbral Choir which cannot be peacefully converted by any means.
Set the difficulty on easy and the game speed on fast (unless you’re a masochist). You can also disable the pirates if you want.
For galaxy shapes I personally recommend to play on a disk galaxy, 하지만 ovoid 또는 spiral ones are also good options. 피하다 ring shape at all costs since it will take you forever to expand your influence zone to the other side of the galaxy.
장애를 입히다 super weaponsbecause in late game some empires may try to blow up entire systems with an obliterator, decolonizing that system and making it permanently unable to recolonize by anyone unless you reconstruct them with a behemoth, adding an annoying extra layer of work.
I suggest to disable score victory. I don’t know if this achievement is obtainable after winning, so just in case it’s better to delay it as much as you need until you get the achievement. (in my experience I unlocked it around turn 180 and fast games last for 150 회전).
It’s highly recommended to set Empire Spawn Method 에게 clustered, this will force everyone to spawn near eachother. We won’t do this because we mind our neighbours, it’s because it makes everyone spawn near the center of the galaxy, making it very easy for you to expand your influence zone in all directions.
Set the galaxy density to low. It will lower the max number of star systems by 33%, so in fact this will lower the required total amount of systems you need to convert for the Academy for the achievement.
과학
There’s not much to say about this. Since the Nakalim can’t research anything in early game it makes everything very straightfoward. My first choice for research will always be
Autonomous Materialson the science and exploration tab. You will need to explore the galaxy as fast as possible, mostly because you will have to do your best to colonize systems far from each other to help your influence zone to cover the entire galaxy as efficiently as possible.
After that just research anything need on the way. If you’re playing on easy dificulty like I said then you won’t need to research anything related to military in the early game.
Don’t forget that Nakalim’s science works very different, your science production on planets is set to zero so science buildings, while still useful, they won’t be very efficient with the Nakalim. Most of your science won’t come from planets but instead from unspent relics. Try to get them fast, they will save you a lot of time later.
Also keep in mind that influence is mostly affected by the amount of pop on the system, it’s really important to research Custom Nucleotides and Interstellar Wind Shielding as soon as they become affordable.
정치
The Nakalim start as a republic, this means you can manage two political parties. Of course you should always focus on religious politics and leave the second slot for anything you want. You just need to make sure that religious always wins on top of the rest.
For laws there’s not much to choose.
- Righteous Fury (결정된) is always great, that’s why you want your religious party to win first.
- Species Stability (functional) is kinda trash, Nakalim pop bonus isn’t the most interesting so you can skip this.
- Admit and Improve (established) is great for early and mid game.
- Saints & Sinners Bill (entrenched) works amazing if you’re struggling with approval, use this if you feel you’re slowing down because of it.
- Peace and Prayer Act (potent) it’s ok for the endgame, the only issue here is that we are trying to make really huge influence zones around our systems, which this translates to an absurd amount of influence points. Decreasing the price of peaceful conversion doesn’t matter when you already have 250k influence.
해킹
This is the most boring part of the Nakalim, since they can’t really steal any research in any way you better focus your hacking into reducing influence of nearby systems. This will help a little when your systems are disputing borders and you want to push it faster.
- In my opinion your best options are:
- Injure Figurehead This is to take away any influence bonuses they give on systems.
- Topple Government In case you’re hacking an origin system, this will reduce FIDSI production during anarchy and remove any laws they have.
- Embed Sleeper In case you don’t have anything better to choose you can always do this. It will give you a little extra FIDSI to you and, when they find it, they may kill that pop, thus slightly affecting influence output for a brief moment.
Aside from that you can use it to hack any Academy system to help yourself with contributions or heroes
초기 게임
가장 먼저, how many star systems I need to give to the Academy to get the achievement? Just open the empire summary at the top left and look at the victory tab, if you hover at the conquest victory condition you will see the number of systems you need to win. This is roughly the number of systems you need to give to the Academy for the achievement, more or less.
I recommend to assign your first two heroes to
fleets, at least for the early game, then start exploring as fast as you can, always focusing on the center of the galaxy. It’s also extremely useful to improve fleet movement modules every time you see the opportunity.
For your buildings just focus on industry and a bit of 음식, while influence is the most important resource here you won’t need it right at the start.
When you’re looking for potential systems to colonize the best option will be the ones with many planets, size is also very important here, the larger the better. Your goal is to have huge populated systems later on. Strategic and luxury resources won’t be so important since we are playing on easy so don’t mind about your braindead opponents.
In my personal experience I expanded only by assimilating minor civilizations. This is good because you essentialy skip the outpost process and you recieve a system with a nice amount of pop and some improvements. Also these systems usually are pretty good ones. You can do this easily by exploring fast around the whole galaxy
Something VERY important here is to leave the AI be, just let them colonize every system they want, even if you want it for yourself. Most games the AI won’t colonize every single planet available so we will have to use some tricks later on, in the meantime just let them colonize everything they want.
If you want you can colonize as many systems as you want but that’s not necessary, with just a few you will be fine. Just try to avoid overcolonization, you will have a hard time managing your approval with Nakalim. If you progress far enough with your religious political party you can counter this easily enough with Saints & Sinners Bill (entrenched), just make sure they win every election.
Midgame
As your influence zones start to devour your neighbours like a galactic tsunami you may start wondering whats the most efficient way to use pacific conversion.
First of all you don’t need to research SLC (Supra-Light Content) Systems to be able to give systems to the Academy. This research is only needed if you want the option to keep it for yourself, which I advise against not to use it.
As you can see both the peace symbol and the academy symbol. In this case we are using ONLY the academy button, don’t waste an opportunity just to get a system for yourself. If you need a new colony just use brute force to get there, pacific conversion should be exclusively used to give systems to the Academy.
In this case this system costs a few thousand influence to buyout but since I have almost half a million I don’t care about it, so don’t waste your time waiting for the progress bar to fill. Remember that they can declare war anytime and the whole progress bar is set back to zero again. You may not have that much of influence in mid game, but the concept still apply, there’s no point on delaying yourself.
What if the academy symbol doesn’t show up? This situation can be very frustrating:
- A system needs at least one Temple of the Lost to be able to give systems to the academy! It won’t work if the temple is at the other side of the galaxy, the upgrade must be present on the system you’re using to convert.
- A system cannot be converted if you’re allied, in truce or at war with your opponent, only cold war and peace works.
- A system cannot be converted if it’s on blockade
There’s probably other reasons that I can’t remember. If that’s the case just let me know in the comments.

After you expanded enough to cover almost all the galaxy you should have everything under control already.
But what if the AI doesn’t colonize the rest of the galaxy? Here’s an example:
괜찮아요, there’s two simple solutions for this. First one is about trying to colonize one or two big systems around the empty area and expand your influence zone as fast as possible. When you take one of your opponent’s systems they will go and colonize another one to compensate. They just don’t expand forever to stay away from overcolonization approval penalties, so if you are fast and grow a big influence zone to swallow all the empty systems around it will be much easier for you when they manage to raise a colony near your systems, when they do it you can give it to the Academy right away. Just remember to keep the cold war status with them
But my second option is a strategy I’ve managed another way to make it faster:
As you can see I barely have any systems (90% of the names in purple are special nodes, not colonies). Then I realized that every system you give to the Academy counts towards conquest victory. Because I was afraid that this achievement couldn’t be unlocked after winning I made an alliance with another empire to raise the amount of systems required for the conquest victory. Then I realized that I can colonize every system around me, gift them to my ally and then leave the alliance to convert all of them at once before ending my turn.
It worked out perfectly. This is how it ended:
그게 다야. Thank you so much for following my guide all the way to the end and I hope you manage to get this horrible achievement.
If your music gets too faded out at some point at the game don’t worry, it’s a common bug, they simply never fixed it.
You just have to open the Academy diplomatic tab, let Isyander speak for a second and… thats it! The music goes back to normal. This seems to happen after recieving a notification from the Academy. The game lowers the music volume to let Isyander speak clearly, but somehow the game simply forget to raise the volume up again after the dialogue. After triggering it manually by opening the Academy tab it gets fixed until you get another notification from him.
