Welcome to the Zombie Apocalypse. Some folks here might be super excited to finally experience it, while others might be terrified and on the verge of having accidents due to the sheer horror. でも心配しないでください! I’m here to provide you with some helpful advice, maybe even some expert tips, to give you a better grasp of what you’ll encounter and, 理想的には, how to survive without meeting an unfortunate end. 私を信じて, as you read on, you’ll understand why staying alive is our top priority.
チュートリアル
今, we all know that some folks out there would rather skip tutorials than go through them. But in this game, it’s strongly advised to complete the tutorial. When you first step into the Zombie Apocalypse, you won’t have a clue about what to do or how to navigate this new world (and I’m not talking about making friends with other players). As you continue reading this guide, you’ll see why the tutorial is crucial, even though I’ll cover some of it here.
During the tutorial, the game will teach you how things work. This includes important stuff like understanding Blood Plague, learning about different types of zombies (and there are more than just one type, by the way), and a few other things. I’ll keep a few details out to avoid spoiling anything in case you prefer surprises. 覚えて, this game has a storyline too.
Basic Gameplay
Understand that to stay alive, you’re part of a group of folks working together to one day rebuild humanity, and we call this group a “Community.” Your main task is to stay alive by collecting supplies, defending against zombies along the way, and forming friendships with other groups known as “Enclaves.” But the most significant part of your mission is to eliminate the Plague Hearts.
About Death
Here are some important things to remember about death and why we really, really don’t want it to happen, especially compared to other games:
- When your health points (HP) hit zero, you enter a kind of “bleeding out” 州. しかし、ここに落とし穴があります: your maximum HP starts dropping with each passing second. You need to get back up on your own or rely on your Follower to help you.
- If your HP hits zero again, you’re gone. For good. The character you were controlling is now permanently dead. お願いします, avoid this at all costs! Dying can seriously hurt your Community’s morale, and the penalty lasts for a while, even though it eventually goes away.
- Once you bite the dust, you’ll probably get the option (私は思う, it’s been a while since I died) to switch to another character in your community.
- The map will show you where the survivor met their end, and you’ll have the chance to collect the stuff they had before their untimely demise.
- To stay alive, stay far away from Juggernauts. They’re the toughest zombies you’ll come across. Don’t even think about going toe-to-toe with one solo if you’re itching for a fight! Always bring a buddy (like a Follower or another player) to help you out. Trying to take on a Juggernaut by yourself is basically a one-way ticket to the afterlife, especially on Dread difficulty or higher. Unless you really, really know what you’re doing!
- Keep in mind that all survivors have their own health bars, even when you’re not controlling them. They can get hurt in a fight. Avoid letting them brawl for too long, or you run the risk of losing them for good. You can’t heal them if you’re not controlling them, だから注意してください!
About Enclaves
Enclaves are kinda like your community, but they’re usually smaller, with around 5 人々 (いつもではありませんが). It’s a good idea to try and be pals with them as much as possible. Steer clear of making them mad, or you might end up in a showdown! If you make them Friendly or even Allies, you’ll get better deals when buying stuff from them, and it’ll be cheaper to bring them into your community! If they become your Allies, it won’t cost you any currency to recruit them. 時々, you’ll get missions involving specific Enclaves, and doing these will improve your relationship with them. If you ignore them or keep refusing their missions, they might start to become neutral again. If you keep on ignoring them, they could turn hostile, and trust me, you’ve got enough enemies already. プラス, they tend to pop up wherever you go.
警告: When it comes to fighting, humans are way smarter than zombies. それで, try your best to avoid making them your enemies. If you can’t avoid it, make sure you’re locked and loaded for a serious brawl.
About Blood Plague Zombies
Watch out for these zombies, they can take you down in multiple ways!
- You can spot Blood Plague Zombies because they’re all red and have creepy glowing red eyes.
- In terms of fighting style, they’re pretty much like regular zombies, so not much different except for their appearance.
- When a Blood Plague Zombie smacks you, a white bar called the Blood Plague Meter will start filling up just above your Minimap. 心配しないで, けれど, this doesn’t mean you’ve caught Blood Plague!
- If that Blood Plague bar fills up completely, it’ll start blinking red, and you’ll have a countdown to your doom. こうなったら, get out of the battle ASAP! When you’re back at your base, stick your survivor in the Infirmary to slow down the Blood Plague. 覚えておいてください, けれど, this will use up your medical supplies as part of the daily upkeep until your survivor is cured. To make the cure, you’ll need Blood Plague Samples, and the amount you need depends on the difficulty level you’re playing on.
- Here’s a side note that might help: Juggernauts never carry Blood Plague! They’re big and strong enough without it.
