This guide is here to show you the special behaviors and secret abilities of ghosts in Phasmophobia.
バンシー
- ゲームの開始時に, a Banshee picks someone as a target.
- It hunts when the target’s sanity reaches 50%.
- After the target dies, the Banshee picks a new one.
- Higher chance for singing ghost events; if you make it vanish during singing, your sanity drop is 15% の代わりに 10%.
- Distinct parabolic microphone sound (scream).
- Ignores everyone except the target during a hunt.
- If the target’s not inside, it hunts normally.
- Smudge Sticks work on non-targets but won’t complete the task “repel the ghost with Smudge Sticks while chasing.”
悪魔
- Very aggressive ghost hunt.
- Can hunt at high sanity drain (70%) with a rare chance to hunt at any sanity.
- Smudge Stick prevents a hunt for 60s instead of 90s.
- Crucifix has a 5m range (instead of 3m for others) for preventing a demon hunt.
- Minimum cooldown between hunts is 20s instead of 25s for other ghosts.
デオン
- This ghost named Deogen can’t be avoided.
- It always uses the spirit box when it’s haunting in nightmare mode.
- Deogen has a unique spirit box response that sounds like growling or heavy breathing.
- If you want to figure out if it’s a Deogen while hiding, pay attention to its speed: it’s super fast initially, but slows down when it gets closer to your hiding spot. それが起こったら, leave your hiding spot and find a place where you can lead the ghost in circles. Deogen is slow when close, so it’s easy to outsmart.
Goryo
- Always has dots on Nightmare.
- Dots visible only through the video camera.
- Dots won’t show if you’re in the same room.
- Seeing dots without a video camera means it’s not a Goryo.
- Doesn’t leave its room often and sticks to its favorite room.
Hantu
- Hantu becomes quicker when the temperature drops.
- Above 15°C, it moves at 1.4m/s.
- At 12°C, its speed is 1.75m/s.
- When it’s 9°C, it goes at 2.1m/s.
- At 6°C, the speed increases to 2.3m/s.
- If the temperature drops to 3°C, Hantu races at 2.5m/s.
- In freezing conditions (0°C), it moves at its fastest, 2.7MS.
- On Nightmare mode, Hantu always has freezing temperatures.
- During a hunt, if the breaker is off, Hantu will create freezing breath in any room.
- 興味深いことに, it can’t speed up while chasing someone, and it has a higher chance of turning off the breaker.
ジン
- The Jinn speeds up to 2.5 m/s when it sees a player and the breaker is on. But when it gets within 3 meters of a player, it slows down to its normal ghost speed.
- 驚くべきことに, the Jinn can’t turn off the breaker. Even if it turns on a light and causes the breaker to trip, it might still be a Jinn.
- When close to a player and the breaker is on, the Jinn can zap 25% 正気の. It gives an EMF reading at the breaker when this happens. The tip is to turn off the breaker to disable all its abilities.
Mare
- The Mare can start hunting at 60% sanity with lights off and at 40% sanity with lights on.
- If a player turns on a light near the Mare, there’s a chance it might immediately turn it off.
- Mares don’t turn lights on; they prefer turning them off. They also have a higher chance of breaking lights.
- If the lights are on in the room, a Mare tends to wander more.
Myiling
- Mylings can only be heard during a hunt within a range of 12 メートル, including footsteps and vocal noises. Other ghosts can be heard up to 20 数メートル離れたところ.
- Mylings often make distinct sounds that a parabolic microphone can pick up more frequently than other ghosts.
- To check for a Myling, hide with your flashlight or place dots on the floor. If you only hear footsteps when your equipment flickers during a hunt, it’s likely a Myling.
ミミック
- ナイトメアモードでは, the Mimic is the only ghost that can provide 3 証拠の一部. In other modes, it gives 4.
- On Nightmare Mode, the Mimic always has orbs. It also has orbs if you’re playing with no evidence.
- The Mimic can’t change its behavior mid-hunt. If you notice a ghost changing behavior often, check for a Mimic.
Moroi
- Moroi’s speed increases based on the average sanity of the players, reaching a maximum of 3.71 MS.
- ナイトメアモードでは, the Spirit Box is always forced evidence for a Moroi.
- Moroi curses a player if they hear its voice with a Spirit Box or a parabolic microphone. The cursed player’s passive sanity drain doubles, and standing in the light doesn’t stop it. Taking Sanity Pills removes the curse until the player hears the voice again.
- To test for a Moroi, get a Spirit Box response, then stay in the light or hold a candle. If your sanity continues to drop, it’s likely a Moroi.
- Using a smudge stick during a hunt makes Moroi unable to see and kill players for 12 秒 (other ghosts are blinded for 6 秒).
Obake
- The Obake is the only ghost that can leave a 6-fingered fingerprint (16.7% チャンス).
- があります 25% chance the Obake won’t leave fingerprints.
- Fingerprints are always forced evidence on Nightmare.
- During a hunt, the Obake has a chance to shapeshift (6.66% チャンス) briefly flashing as another ghost model of the same gender. To test for an Obake, loop it during a hunt and see if it changes ghost models.
Oni
- The Oni can’t do the “ghost mist” または “air ball” ghost event.
- It drains double the sanity when a ghost event hits you.
- The Oni is more visible during a hunt, blinking less than other ghosts.
- During a manifestation event, the Oni prefers showing its full form rather than a shadowy or translucent form.
Onryo
- Onryo can’t hunt within 4 meters of a flame.
- If it blows out 3 flames with no others nearby, it triggers a hunt at any sanity.
- Blowing out a candle or lighter gives a 50% chance to start a hunt. This chance increases by 25% each time a player dies.
- Using a crucifix without blowing out the candle means it’s not an Onryo.
- Onryo might wander away from candles and initiate a hunt.
ファントム
- Phantoms have a longer blink during hunts, making them almost invisible (flash visible every 1 に 2 seconds compared to every 0.3 に 1 second for other ghosts).
- Taking a picture of a Phantom during a ghost event ends the event, and the Phantom disappears, but you’ll continue hearing the ghost event audio.
- Phantoms won’t appear in pictures taken during ghost events.
- Looking at a Phantom lowers your sanity by 0.5% 毎秒.
- A Phantom randomly chooses a player and goes to their location, generating an EMF Level 2 reading before the incident occurs.
Poltergeist
- Poltergeists are more likely to throw items, reducing player sanity by 2% for each item tossed.
- During hunts, they have a 100% chance of throwing an object nearby every 0.5 秒, unlike other ghosts with a 50% チャンス.
- 時々, a Poltergeist can throw objects much farther and stronger than other ghosts, even creating an “爆発” of items.
Raiju
- Raiju speeds up to 2.5 m/s during a hunt when passing near active electronics.
- The distance of the movement speed boost from active electronics varies on map size: 6 meters for small maps, 8 meters for medium maps, と 10 meters for large maps.
- Raiju is faster around turned-on electronics, moving at 65% speed compared to 50% without electronics. This excludes certain electronic items like head cameras, motion sensors, and sound sensors.
Revenant
- Revenants are very slow when the player’s location is unknown, moving at 1 MS.
- Once it spots a player, it speeds up immediately to 3 MS.
- After reaching the player’s last known location, the Revenant gradually slows down if it doesn’t see the player.
シェード
- Shades can initiate a hunt at very low (平均 35%) sanity drain.
- They prefer whispering during activities, appearing in a shadow or transparent way during events. Detecting this is easier with a summoning circle and music box.
- Shy and boring, Shades won’t hunt if there’s a player nearby and won’t throw objects if you’re in the same room.
- The chance of a ghost event increases as the average sanity drops.
精神
Smudging a Spirit prevents it from hunting for 180 秒, longer than the usual 90 seconds for most ghosts and 60 seconds for Demons.
Thaye
- Thaye is the only ghost capable of aging and is more likely to interact with dots and ghost writing.
- Starting young, Thaye becomes more active and aggressive, able to hunt at 75% sanity and move at a fast 2.5 MS.
- It has a chance of aging every 1-2 分, lowering the hunting threshold to 15% and speed to 1 m/s at its oldest.
- Asking its age on the ouija board at different times yields different responses.
ツインズ
- Twins are very active, interacting in different rooms simultaneously.
- Across multiple hunts, you may notice different speeds. The main Twin is 10% もっとゆっくり (1.53 MS), and the Decoy Twin is 10% もっと早く (1.87 MS) during the hunt.
- They might hunt from different locations if the Decoy Twin is in action.
レイス
- Wraiths won’t step in salt or leave UV footsteps.
- They can teleport to a player outside of a hunt, generating an EMF 2 または 5 reading.
Yokai
- Ghost activity increases when talking near a Yokai.
- During a hunt, it can’t detect voices or equipment beyond 2.5m.
- There’s a chance it will hunt at 80% sanity when players nearby are talking; さもないと, it hunts at 50%.
- To test for a Yokai, hide in a nearby room with equipment on and yell during a hunt. If the ghost doesn’t find you, it’s likely a Yokai.
Yurei
- Yurei can close doors completely and quickly, with a delayed sound of the door closing.
- It can zap 15% sanity if a player is nearby and is the only ghost that can interact with the entrance door.
- When smudged, the Yurei will be trapped in its room for a period of time.
