Beat Valhalla Mode Without Taking any Damage
Jera
Starting the Valhalla mode walkthroughs with the Perfect Jera fight. 初めに, I thought this battle was really tough and almost impossible because it was hard to find a moment to hurt her. しかし, I discovered that you can hit her arms when she slams down and figured out the rest of her pattern. 今, it’s the most consistent and planned-out fight in the game. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how I beat her every time, as long as I avoid major mistakes.
- Begin the fight and head to the second flower on the left. Wait until her head stops moving after that spin when she emerges. That’s my signal to run onto her left arm, use both Loki powers, and charge up a heavy attack. If you run too early, the poison sac will activate while waiting for her health bar, and if you run too late, there’s not enough time for both Lokis and a heavy attack before it’s too late.
- After the heavy attack, roll to the left twice to escape the poison sac range. Charge up another heavy attack to hit her arm as she slams next to you. Then roll once toward her center and try to land a light attack on her arm as she slams straight down.
- Run up and hit her stomach with a heavy attack, and if done correctly, it should knock her down. Quickly roll out of the poison sac range, let it settle, then return, hit twice with light attacks, and finish with a heavy attack. If you make a mistake and miss the knockdown with the first heavy attack, retreat to a flower to avoid the poison mist. それから, lure out another slam attack. You can stand below her left root to hit her arm with a heavy attack during the second slam, このような:
その後, use a heavy attack to knock her down by hitting her stomach, and continue the fight as explained.
- Following the initial knockdown, head straight down to the center flower. Keep the area around the flower clear of thorns, ensuring a path to her. Eliminate a few thorns initially, but don’t linger near the flowers for too long, or she’ll skip the slam attack and go straight to the poison mist, followed by summoning thorns again.
- Lure out the slam attack by moving slightly towards her, then run back to the bottom flower. If you position yourself immediately in line with (or slightly below) the flower, her slam won’t hit you, despite the shadow indication. Release the heavy attack as she slams down.
- Right after that, use a Freya, rush past any thorns, and use a Thor near her to damage her and clear out nearby thorns. Execute two heavy attacks on her stomach, knocking her down. Roll away from the poison sac, wait for it to settle, then return, landing a third Thor hit on her weak point.
- Around the 50% マーク, she extends her roots, but they don’t have a significant impact. You can choose to take out the right root, as it may obstruct the heavy attack on her arms, though it’s not crucial. Repeat the previous steps: clear thorns, bait the slam attack, hit her arms with a heavy attack, use Freya, move to the stomach, トール, hit the stomach twice to knock her down, wait for the sac, and land a Thor hit on the weak point.
- 今頃, she should be below 25%, starting the last phase with another slam attack. Return to the flower, land a heavy attack on her arms, use Freya, move to the stomach, トール, hit the stomach. この時点で, you can keep using heavy attacks with Thor, and for added safety, use one or two Heimdallr shields.
That’s the basic strategy. It’s a well-calculated pattern, and while it may take some time to master, if executed correctly, there’s minimal risk in this fight. Remember to utilize shields and Odin spears if needed. 例えば, if you mistakenly heavy attack her stomach when she should be knocked out, throw a spear to correct it and proceed with the steps.
The only minor challenge lies in dealing with thorns. Even with perfect execution, a few attempts may be needed for favorable thorn placements. Focus mainly on the ones near the flower and on the path to her stomach.
Fé
The Fé fight is kind of like the Jera fight because it’s super planned out. I’ve figured out a good strategy, but it’s not consistent like Jera. Even if the video looks smooth, it’s not usual to have a fight like this, even if you play perfectly. Dwarves can pop up at bad times or hammers can come out of nowhere. But if you use powers right, you can control some of the randomness.
初めに, don’t do too much damage, just a heavy attack before Fé slams her shield the first time. If she takes too much damage, she summons big dwarves along with small ones. But if you do little or no damage, she only summons the small dwarves. オプションで, you want one heavy attack and one light attack before her first slam. This isn’t necessary, but it helps finish the fight with the last Odin spear. Don’t stay too close at the start, or she’ll slam immediately. Stay a bit away and deal with any dwarves. If she slams before you hit her, it’s okay, just keep going.
After the slam, use Freya and Thor to hurt her while she moves right or left. Aim Thor hits to get both her and any dwarves. Keep applying Freya and Thor until she slams her hand to summon pillars. それから, do one more Thor hit, use the last Freya, do another heavy attack, and use a Shield. The first Shield is just to be safe from small dwarves, but if you prefer to use it earlier, that’s fine too.
After Fé does her second shield slam and summons big dwarves, use the second Shield. Roll away from the slam, even if it doesn’t hurt you, to avoid getting stunned. Do the same for hammers, as they can interrupt your heavy attack charge-up even if you’re shielded.
After the second Shield, heavy attack one more time before placing a Loki just before Fé screams. Run down either left or right to create distance, drop another Loki as the scream ends to divert hammer dwarves. Take a few extra steps back, charge a heavy attack, and wait for the shield throw. You can do this while your last Thor power is active, but it’s not crucial. Hit the shield a bit earlier than you think to avoid getting hit by it.
ついに, throw your two Odin spears. If everything went well, the last spear should finish Fé. If you missed some early damage, it’s okay. Focus on taking out a few pillars, deflect hammers with light attacks, and stay far from Fé to bait more shield throws. Play it like the ending of a Shun the Gods run, similar to the final part of the fight. You can check my (upcoming) Shun the God Fé video for reference.
Here’s a detailed order for my attacks/powers. You don’t have to follow it exactly, but practicing this pattern worked reliably for me:
- 重い – ライト – (she slams) – Freya+Thor – Heavy x5 (the 5th one will be slower) – Freya – 重い – トール – Heavy x3 – (she summons pillars) – Freya (last one) – 重い – Heimdallr shield – 重い – トール – 重い – Heimdallr (after getting out of the shield slam AoE) – 重い – 1st Loki – Run away from her – Wait for scream to almost end – 2nd Loki – Shield reflect – Odin x2.
Don’t get discouraged if it takes a while to get a clean and calculated run. それは私をあちこち連れて行ってくれました 3 hours of recording to nail this strategy, even with practice. Keep grinding through this tough fight!
Isa
Hooray for Isa! Enjoy his straightforward and mostly easygoing style, especially in Valhalla mode.
Let’s kick off by waking him up using icicles. Position yourself a few steps below him to avoid awkward shoves. Stand close to his middle finger after running back, ensuring not to get too near or far. After waiting a moment, place a Loki when he pulls his right arm out of the snow. Roll southeast thrice, then charge up a heavy attack to hit the icicles.
Consider dropping both Lokis at the start for experimentation, but keeping one for later is safer. Even though I didn’t need it in this fight, I’ll explain its use shortly.
与える 2-3 icicles into him with a heavy attack when he slams down on the Loki decoy. Wait a moment before dropping the Loki to avoid knocking away the icicles when it explodes, causing no damage to Isa.
Follow up with another set of icicles, either on your left or right, to knock him down. Once down, hit his head twice with light attacks, then a heavy attack. If icicles are right in front of his face, heavy attack those for more critical damage. Either option works fine here.
Once he wakes up, he’ll try to charge at you. Move to the side to dodge it. Wait a bit before chasing him. Waiting is key, as if you run right away, he might not use ice breath but slowly approach for a slam. You want the ice breath, so hold back until he turns around, then take the first Freya and run toward him. When close, use Thor and land three heavy attacks to knock him down.
When he’s down, attempt two light attacks and a heavy hit before Thor’s power runs out. Instantly use another Freya+Thor as soon as the heavy hit connects. その後, he enters phase 2, roaring and covering the arena in ice. During this, land two charged Thor hits, then run in the direction he’s charging and use Heimdallr’s shield to avoid damage. Roll twice if knocked back, then use Freya when he starts the ice breath. Finish with the last Thor and two heavy attacks to knock him down. Be cautious not to be under him as he falls on the icy ground.
Conclude the fight with two light attacks, a Thor heavy to the face, and one or two Odin spears. This should eliminate him, but occasionally, the damage from icicles may vary.
If he’s still alive, quickly switch to Heimdallr (R1/RB twice) to block his charge, then deploy your last Loki before evading the second charge. Placing Loki should make him use ice breath after charging, allowing you to approach and finish him off.
There might be some oddities, like him getting up immediately after being knocked down or freezing for a few seconds. Exceeding a damage threshold before the knockdown might cause the former, while the latter remains unclear. Despite these, following the method from the video seems consistently effective.
Hagalaz
If you thought you wouldn’t need luck, ごめん, but luck’s not on your side today. Good news is, Hagalaz is a speedy boss in Valhalla mode if you play it right. それで, while luck may not be with you, following these strategies might save you minutes during the hours you spend grinding!
今, here’s a reliable pattern that, 確かに, is pretty punishing and tricky to pull off. The fast pace and precise power usage might be a bit much, so here are a few extra tips to consider. Start by waking her up and stand in the center of the “N”. Charge up a heavy attack to hit her as soon as the health bar appears, then immediately use a Thor power. Follow up with two more heavy attacks before using Freya; make sure to have the speed buff when she splits the first time for an extra hit.
After the split, throw both your Odins – might seem odd early, but it’s the best time I’ve found, and it helps split her again conveniently. Move towards the bottom left for the fight’s big coin flip! があります 50-50 chance one clone is either on the left or bottom. Avoid both on the top/right since the only lightning rod is there. それが起こったら, 正直に, just reset and try again.
Quickly head to one of the clones, preferably the top left if she’s there, and drop a Loki on the bridge between the squares when you see her starting the thunder animation. It won’t block every strike, but you want to start dealing damage ASAP. Position yourself directly south of the lightning rod to avoid sparks, use Thor, and perform a single heavy attack before using Freya. Delay using Freya to land a final hit as they split again. Execute three more heavy attacks with Freya, rolling down if needed to dodge lightning. 時々, you might need to roll after the second heavy attack, rolling down, heavy attacking up, then rolling up into the lightning rod before the fourth heavy attack as they split again.
Leave the current corner and head towards another clone. Don’t stay in the same corner, or she’ll teleport before attacking. If you see her attacking, you can double-back and attack the same clone again. Drop your last Loki and Freya, then use your last Thor, and hit her thrice for the kill.
Note that Shield wasn’t used in this fight. You can adapt and use shields if needed, but try to avoid them since every attack, including sparks, interrupts the heavy attack charge even when shielded. This strategy focuses on minimizing RNG by maximizing damage, which might cost you the fight.
If it’s too stressful, a simpler trick is to, when she splits the first time, avoid using Odins. Walk towards the corner she spawns in, 待って “outside it,” and avoid the first 2 lightning strikes before using Loki. This ensures all strikes are blocked before it expires. Proceed with Freya+Thor as normal before she teleports away. You’ll have a bit longer before they split, but start moving around the arena, lighting up rods with thunder strikes or lightning beams. Use shields to block sparks if needed. When they finally get knocked down, a heavy attack to the head and a few light attacks should be enough before they split. Throw both Odin spears for more damage in the last phase, then complete it as described above. This strategy is simpler but leaves you at the mercy of sparks for longer, so it’s a tradeoff.
Kaunan
Oh dear. After that scary experience last time, is it going to be even scarier now?
驚くべきことに, Kaunan is actually a good friend, at least in No Damage (but Shun the Gods is a different story). Even though the lava drops are unpredictable, this quick and simple plan only has 1-2 tricky spots, and they’re usually easy to handle. 始めましょう!
初め, walk up to him and tap his foot to start the fight. それから, quickly roll down to the left. Roll four times until you’re below a small crack in the ground, and throw both of your Odin spears towards the top left. Make sure to aim them to hit his back or shoulders, or they might hit his sword and do no damage. Charge up a heavy attack to release when he slams down his sword. Roll, follow it up with two light attacks, and then head towards the center.
Watch out for the hilt on his sword, as you can get stuck on it. Roll straight down to get around it, then roll four more times towards the center. Use your Thor and charge up immediately, missing out on the explosion damage but ensuring you get three heavy attacks in before he falls. Activate Freya after the first Thor hit, and charge up two more while rolling towards his center.
When he gets knocked down, roll right into him (almost underneath) to counteract the knockback, or he might push you into a lava patch. This might seem a bit random, but if you roll right into him, the knockback should be mild and never a problem.
In the battle, when he’s knocked down, power up Thor for an extra hit on his head for bonus damage. その後, aim for two more hits on his foot while he does his rage animation. It’s important to delay using Freya for the first hit so that there’s time for two hits before he jumps away.
After the sixth hit with Thor, release your first Loki. This makes him jump to a consistent spot for the first two jumps. Move to the left, position yourself slightly below the “equator” on the left side of the circle to avoid his hexagonal crack attack. It might sound complicated, but watch the video to get the hang of it quickly.
Before he lands for the first time after the 6th Thor hit, use Thor and Freya. Charge up a heavy hit to land as he touches down, then charge up another hit for the next landing. This should knock him down again, providing ample time to hit his head with Thor.
Kaunan’s head hitbox is large, allowing you to stand to his side and still hit it past his arm, 例に示すように. Even if you miss the headshot bonus, your damage output should be enough to finish the fight.
Drop your second Loki immediately, and he’ll do a single jump to land on it. Use Thor and Freya before he lands, then hit him with as many heavy attacks as needed. You have a decent amount of time for this, so it shouldn’t be challenging. The Loki power itself finished the fight for me, but be cautious of lava drops and reposition away from any shadows you see.
This fight is relatively forgiving except for the timing of the first 6 Thor hits. Master the starting sequence, and he’ll go down quickly afterward.
オーディン
Dealing with Odin in Valhalla might seem hard, but I made a video to show how to handle a tough situation where both Kaunan and Jera appear. It can be a tricky fight, but if you use Thor+Freya and Loki powers well, and destroy one of the three spears right when Odin throws them, the fight becomes much easier.
There’s a strange issue with the Restart function in the menu. If you use it, Odin’s behavior changes at the beginning, and he won’t let you land the initial heavy hit. それで, instead of Restart, it’s better to return to Ginnungagap each time you make a mistake. It takes a few seconds, but it ensures more consistency.
Regarding the actual fight, the start is the only part with a fixed plan. Practice the section leading to the first Jotun summoning, as it remains consistent if done correctly.
The pattern at the beginning involves charging up a heavy hit, then rolling straight up and delivering a light poke attack before Odin dashes south. It’s essential not to be too fast in following him, as reacting too quickly makes him respond faster, preventing you from landing the second heavy attack. それで, despite feeling slow, roll and poke after the first hit.
To engage Odin, roll or run down towards him, and start charging a heavy hit when Thora is partially hidden by Odin’s arm. If positioned correctly, Odin should dash to the left after your hit. Move directly left, trying to time a light hit with his spear toss. 正しく行われた場合, as seen in the video, you’ll instantly block the central spear he throws, which is very helpful.
This grants you enough time to reach him and execute two heavy attacks before the other spears arrive. Regarding the spear timing, start attacking earlier than you might expect. Thora’s attacks have lengthy start-up frames, meaning you might get hit after pressing the button but before the attack is fully executed. 練習すると, you should grasp the timing easily.
今, if you land 2-3 light hits during the last two spears, Odin will be only a hit or two away from summoning Jotun. しかし, hold off on damaging him further. Additional damage now prompts him to dash to the center of the arena, wasting time as you run to him. その代わり, stay close to make him dash upward, use Freya to chase him, and then trigger a Thor explosion to initiate the next phase. Don’t delay too much, or he’ll throw another set of spears, posing a problem. Done correctly, you’ll have ample time to rush to the center stage and charge heavy attacks as he summons, getting at least 3 hits in before he moves.
今, the second half of the fight gets more varied. After mastering the first part, improvise for the second half. Here are some general tips based on what Odin summons:
- Jera: Seems intimidating, but you can ignore her completely. Using a Shield, as demonstrated in the video, prevents her poison cloud from damaging you, even if you’re close.
- Fé: Simply ignore her. Move to the side, and she’ll miss.
- Isa: Similar to Fé, sidestep and disregard.
- Hagalaz: Not as daunting as it appears. Reach Odin, aim for at least one heavy attack before deploying Loki. This should catch 2-3 槍 (if one wasn’t blocked) and the remaining thunderstrikes. Immediately follow up with Freya+Thor after Loki.
- Kaunan: Another challenge. 時々, the spears and Odin’s position make it tough to escape the shadow in time. そのような場合には, use a Shield power on him. If you can avoid the shadow without risk, そうする, but don’t take chances with Kaunan.
それを超えて, stay close to Odin, utilize Odin’s spears to finish him if needed, and use Loki for both summon cycles after 1-2 Thor hits to ignore the spears entirely. Remember to try and block one whenever possible.
追伸. 確かに, I tried to synchronize the heavy charge ding with his eye during the starting animation.
