Some tips and strategies for the achievement called Academy of Umbrellas (only using the Umbrella as your weapon) in Death’s Door!
The Parameters
I saw several posts on the internet from people who were unsure if they had voided the achievement or if they needed to restart their playthrough to get this Achievement. To be more specific, if you swing any other melee weapon other than the Umbrella at all, the Achievement is null and void. It doesn’t matter if you didn’t hit anything with the other weapon; it still voids the achievement. If you used the default sword before picking up the Umbrella, you’ll have to restart the game.
If you are unsure whether you are voided out or not, check the weapon selection screen and see if the Umbrella has a red background, 以下に示すように:
This means you are still eligible.
位置
The Umbrella is on the upper floor of the Hall of Doors, next to a lamppost on the left side. From spawning in, keep following the clear path up to the main lobby, with the worker’s desks and the Soul Vault (店), then go up the staircase on your left and you should see the Umbrella on the floor leaning against the lamppost. (shown in the upper left corner of this screenshot).
The Basics and Strategy You Can Use
Except for dealing half damage, the Umbrella has the same stats as the default sword.
明らかに, this means that enemies will have to take twice as many hits as they would in normal gameplay with the default sword, making the tougher fights/boss fights much longer.
What I would recommend is that you abandon your view of melee as your primary weapon and instead focus on using your Bow/ Spells. Because you’re stuck with the Umbrella’s 0.5x damage, I figured it’d be better to pivot to the bow instead. Throughout my Umbrella playthrough, the main combat loop I had was to use my ranged attacks until they were depleted, then get a few swipes in with the Umbrella until I regained the magic/range ammo, and then return to being ranged focused.
I spent all of my points at the Soul Vault (店) on magic until it was maxed out, then focused on dodge speed and weapon speed as a secondary priority (As shown below)
さらに, once you’ve unlocked all of the ranged/magic forms, I recommend performing the bow upgrade ritual, which can be found in the Lost Cemetery next to the main door.
This allows you to do more damage with your bow when charged, which is extremely useful. With this ability and fully upgraded magic/range in the shop, I was able to 1 shot kill most of the basic enemies in the game, even in the “遅い” game icy section, which was a huge help; additionally, the armoured shielded enemies, which were some of the most difficult enemies in the early game, were now a 2 shot kill with this combination. It also works well for bosses, using the aforementioned strategy of staying ranged until you run out of ammo, then quickly getting a few hits in before returning to ranged focus.
の入手 16 shrines will also be extremely beneficial. It goes without saying that having more HP and ammo capacity will obviously make the game easier; this is especially important for the range focus strategy I used. Each shrine grants one crystal shard of either health or range, and gathering four grants either an extra HP/Ammo container or an extra HP/Ammo container, depending on the shrine. うまくいけば, you remember where these are from your previous playthrough(s), しかし、そうでない場合は, there are some good guides online. Some will necessitate the grapple hook, which will be your final ranged attack form.
