100% achievement guide for Cave Digger. This achievement guide may contain spoilers of Cave Digger. あなたは警告されました.
I Have The Power
It’s next to impossible NOT to get this achievement, which perhaps explains why it is the most commonly gained achievement in the game. Simply press the button to go down in the elevator, and hit some rocks with the pickaxe. In about five minutes, you’ll be back in the Saloon again and get the achievement.
- Required purchase: なし (you get the pickaxe when you start).
- Internal name: ihavethepower
- Unlock notes: This achievement appears to trigger automatically when the elevator rises up from level -1 into the Saloon (レベル 0). You don’t even need to use the pickaxe, nor hit or my anything.
Blind Pass
You will almost certainly get this achievement without explicitly trying for it, as it’s natural to look away to grab more treasure, once you’re confident something you’ve dropped will fall in. Valuables are anything that can be sold for money, so even includes tin cans, ボトル, トイレットペーパー, 等.
- Required purchase: なし.
- Internal name: blindpass
- Unlock notes: So long as an item is not visible to you when it falls into the loot bin, the achievement should trigger. So to make absolutely sure it triggers, you can just hold it over the bin, look away, and release it. The loot bin is the big box in the middle of the elevator, but you knew that already, 右?
Explode in hand
心配しないで, your gloves are strong enough to withstand the blast.
- Required purchase: Dynamite.
- Internal name: explodehand
- Unlock notes: Explosives don’t include the nuke, so you need to buy at least the first level of the dynamite sticks, light one (or for later ones, pull the pin out by grabbing with your other hand and pulling away), and hold it in your hand until they go boom. The achievement should trigger as soon as it goes boom.
My Preciousss
Valuables are anything that can be sold for money, so even includes tin cans, ボトル, トイレットペーパー, 等.
- Required purchase: なし.
- Internal name: myprecious
- Unlock notes: If there is any value in the elevator (held or not) when you hit the button to go down, it will trigger at that point.
Frutti Di Spelunca
When mining in the elevator, you will occasionally see one wall which has no rocks and is instead a cave with some mushrooms. You can pick these up and eat them.
- Required purchase: なし.
- Internal name: fruttidispelunca
- Unlock notes: To eat them, move them within 30cm (12 インチ) of the middle of your headset. それで, in your face, 基本的に. You don’t need to open your mouth to eat in VR, but everyone always does!
終わり: 黙示録
The easiest ending to get: just buy the nuke and use the detonator to set it off at any level in the elevator.
- Required purchases: Both the nuke and the detonator. For these to come available it probably requires buying all three levels of dynamite first.
- Internal name: 未定
- Unlock notes: 未定
Mine Everything
You don’t need to mine them manually, so the easiest way is to buy and fully upgrade the dynamite (それで, 2 upgrades until you get the pull-pin version), then pull the pin and place one dynamite in the center of each wall. You could drill a hole in the centermost rock, place the dynamite in the hole, and then pull the pin out… but that just wastes time. その代わり, you can just pull the pin, place your hand into the rock while holding the dynamite, and then let go. It will remain inside the rock, and you can move on to the next wall. と 6 sticks of explosives, you can quickly clear two 3-wall rooms per mining trip!
- Required purchase: なし, but explosives really help. Not sure it’s physically possible to mine fast enough with just the pickaxe, even in a 3-wall level, but you might be able to do the job by sweeping the stones away with the Chaos Gauntlet.
- Internal name: mineall
- Unlock notes: Only triggers once you go back up to the Saloon.
Careful With That Candle Eugene
Arguably the fastest, easiest achievement to get, once you’ve bought the candle. Will you catch the cultural reference that this triggers?
- Required purchase: キャンドル ($5)
- Internal name: candleineye
- Unlock notes: Buy the candle from the store, grab it in your hand, and poke yourself in the eye with it. Like eating things, this just means getting the candle within about 20cm (8 インチ) of the center of your headset.
終わり: Chaos Gauntlet
Fully upgrade the Chaos Gauntlet.
- Required purchase: Chaos Gauntlet
- Internal name: chaosgauntlet
- Unlock notes: Buy the Chaos Gauntlet, and collect glowing gems for it as you mine. They’re very obvious: their glow shines through the stones they are buried in. Once you have upgraded it, grabbing one last glowing gem will trigger one of the endgame sequences. In the endgame sequence, reach out to the sphere in front of you to trigger the achievement. この時点以降, you will need to be careful when mining in the elevator not to pick up the glowing loot. 幸運, this is quite easy, として, unlike the other loot, it doesn’t fall into the elevator once mined, but rather just floats where it was, still glowing.
Luck With The Drill
Buy the drill and drill an oil reserve within a rock that has not been scanned.
- Required purchase: ドリル
- Internal name: drillwithluck
- Unlock notes: This is possible in the elevator, especially if you drill the corners first (where oil is most likely found), but is a lot easier on the train, as you have unlimited time. An upgraded drill helps too because the engine takes longer to overheat. just drill the center of each boulder in a minable wall, until you hit oil. If you don’t hit oil in the first wall, try again on the next and so on. It shouldn’t take long, as most walls have at least one oil node.
終わり: Useless Tech
Wear the VR headset.
- Required purchase: All items in the Saloon store, as the VR Headset can only be bought once all others have been bought.
- Internal name: uselesstech
- Unlock notes: Buy the VR goggles from the store and put them on by moving the VR goggles within 20cm/8inches of your headset’s center.
Choooo! Choooo!
Astonishingly, at the time of writing, 未満 3% プレイヤーの have even unlocked the train.
- Required purchase: Train lever.
- Internal name: unlocktrain
- Unlock notes: Buy the lever from the General store outside the Saloon ($2000). The achievement should trigger, and the lever should appear in its place in the train’s control panel.
Feed me with treasures
Note that this is the first achievement that is not in Title Case.
- Required purchase: Train lever, 多分? Though perhaps you could just walk along the train tracks to find it.
- Internal name: unlockmimic
- Unlock notes: find the right chest (likely very close to the first area you can mine on the train), and use it. The achievement should trigger once Chompy awakens and starts following you.
Using cactus from now on
- Required purchase: なし.
- Internal name: toiletpaper
- Unlock notes: Take the toilet paper down (or drop it down) 20 単位. This might be achievable by tossing it off the cliff outside, or down the elevator shaft.
氏. Conductor
Once you’ve unlocked the train, you need to actually drive it!
- Required purchase: Train lever
- Internal name: conductor
- Unlock notes: The code says it needs to move 5 in-game units, which would be about 5m, not 5km. But maybe there’s something multiplying it by 1000 that I missed.
Fetch, girl!
Mimi, aka Chompy, is the pet you got a couple of achievements back. 心配しないで, she has a cast-iron stomach.
- Required purchase: Train lever, 多分?
- Internal name: mimicdynamite
- Unlock notes: Feed a dynamite to Chompy. Does not have to be lit/fused, as the action of eating it will cause the explosion anyway.
終わり: Unlock the Mystery Vault
Find the keys for the vault that randomly appears in the elevator, ドアのロックを解除します, and loot the chest within.
Note that one of the patch notes says “Vault loot is randomized” – しかし, this likely refers to the vault found along the train tracks, rather than the reward in the elevator vault, which is the same every time. You can unlock the vault many times in the same game, by riding the elevator down to it again, but you will always get the same reward.
- Required purchase: One key.
- Internal name: mysteryvault
- Unlock notes: The achievement will trigger once the endgame sequence starts.
終わり: Space Elevator
Set off the nuke below you as you rise up the shaft towards the Saloon.
- Required purchase: Both the nuke and the detonator. For these to come available it probably requires buying all three levels of dynamite first.
- Internal name: nukeunderground
- Unlock notes: The conditions for this to happen to appear to be that it’s more than 15 単位 (so roughly 15 meters/yards) below you, and you are still in the elevator. I am not sure if it can trigger if you are in the elevator in the saloon, nor if you are going back down towards it on a subsequent trip.
終わり: Nuke the overworld
There are several endings that require you to do something imaginative with the nuke.
- Required purchase: Both the nuke and the detonator. For these to come available it probably requires buying all three levels of dynamite first.
- Internal name: nukesaloon
- Unlock notes: You need to move the nuke and trigger in order to be able to push down the plunger. Easiest seems to be to pick them up onto the bar. I’m not sure if you can trigger it from elsewhere: つまり, leave the nuke in the saloon, and use the plunger while on the train, in the elevator, 等. I’m also not sure if the nuke can be anywhere in the overworld or must be in the saloon.
To rule them all
- Required purchase: 未定
- Internal name: 未定
- Unlock notes: 未定
I got the cash baby
This achievement should be impossible to avoid getting if you’re upgrading everything, since some items cost more than 20k, so you need to save for them, and will get this achievement in the process.
- Required purchase: なし. 実際には, buying too much stuff makes this harder.
- Internal name: manymonies
- Unlock notes: この功績に対して, it may be more efficient to take the train rather than make several trips down in the escalator. $20k should be easily achievable in two trips on the train, maybe only one with a fully upgraded bank.
終わり: Dimensional War
Probably the fiddliest of the nuke alternate endings.
- Required purchase: Both the nuke and the detonator. For these to come available it probably requires buying all three levels of dynamite first.
- Internal name: nukealternate
- Unlock notes: You just throw the nuke (but not the detonator) over the edge of the elevator at any point in an elevator mining trip. The nuke does have to be reasonably deep, しかし, so it might be best to drop it out in the third level of the elevator, though you can also try the vault reward room. Then go back down and come back up again. This second return to the Saloon marks the nuke as “in another dimension”. Then remotely detonate the nuke by using the detonator. ついに, go down in the elevator again. This trip should trigger the end sequence and this achievement.
Party in the caves
- Required purchase: 2 upgrades for the train’s radio.
- Internal name: maxradio
- Unlock notes: Should unlock on purchase of the second upgrade.
It buuuuurns
このために, you need to NOT be wearing the gas mask, and breathing in toxic gases.
- Required purchase: NOT the gas mask.
- Internal name: 未定
- Unlock notes: This requires that 100 poison damage be done by staying in a toxic area. If you step out of the area you regain health at 10 points per second, しかし… It looks to me like standing in the toxic area does 11 damage per frame, instead of something like 11 毎秒, または 11 per some other cooldown. So I think if I find any gas I’ll be dead in under a second. And it looks like if you buy the gas mask, you can’t get the “getting poisoned” achievement without resetting the game to lose the mask. But it may be that the mask is a removable tool? Doesn’t look that way in the code, けれど.
Space whaling
You can literally just buy a spaceship? Very rich-billionaire.
- Required purchase: 宇宙船
- Internal name: spaceship
- Unlock notes: 未定
終わり: Groovy Ending
- Required purchase: 未定
- Internal name: 未定
- Unlock notes: 未定
All maxed out
- Required purchase: 2 upgrades each for Bank, 雑貨店, Post Office, Saloon, Sheriff and Well.
- Internal name: maxupgrades
- Unlock notes: Should unlock when making the last purchase.
終わり: Annunaki
Wake up any statue by feeding it stuff with a total value of $2000, then return to town.
- Required purchase: なし?
- Internal name: alien
- Unlock notes: Feeding different statues counts separately, so feeding $1500 to each of two statues won’t wake either one. Other major events in town might trump this from triggering when you reach the town, in which case you’ll need to handle those events, then leave and re-enter the town.
