Campaign Related Achievements
These require you to play a Volunteer from the beginning to finish
The Beginning of The End
Complétez le tutoriel
This one is unavoidable and will be your first achievement, once you fuel up the car and select your destination you will get it.

Discover the modified HERC device
Unavoidable.
Trinity contact you about if you acquired more Antiviral (answer does not matter). After that chat you do your usual thing scavenge for fuel and leave, you will have a loading screen with the title « DEVIATION ».
You will enter an area with north-west as your main objective, this area has a good chance to spawning Upgrade Radio, Supply Cache, and Supply Bag.
Beware of a shotgun trap at the entrance fight your way up till you get to the door where you hear a loud clock like tick.
Ouvrez-le, the tick stop and Radar will ask you to destroy it and check it out.
Doctor Stedman will contact you and get angry Radar will ask question about the device. Once you answer his question, partir.
Open the Gates (réussite cachée)
Open the gates at the HERC checkpoint
You will eventually reach at your final destination in the Suburbs section of the map, HERC Blockade.
Buzzard ask where you are (answer does not matter) and Trinity command you to open the gates. You will need to power up 2 generator one at north-east one at south-west. There is a chance you will meet a Charger for the first time.
If you got any grenade, now it is the time to use them.
To access them you will need to head south and look for a wired fence door.
The north-east has a chance of Antiviral, a HERC station for extra loot and plenty of Infected. While south-west has nothing much but a lot of Infected.
Once all power generator and the switch are activated and you leave, the achievement pop up.
A Breath of Fresh Air (réussite cachée)
Reach The Mountains
Unavoidable. Just an extra achievement right after Open the Gates.
Signals Over the Air (réussite cachée)
Activate the radio tower
Unavoidable.
Get to the end of Mountains section (Tour de radio). You will contact Radar that you have arrive to your destination and he order you to get it online.
This battle will eat a lot of ammo (+100) as you will need to turn on 2 generators and a lock door. It does not have any Antiviral Dispenser.
The layout is quite simple follow a linear pathway turn on the generator than kill whatever is in your way. There maybe Burster, Leaper and Charger on your way up.
The first generator, you will be most likely be attack on both side, if you want a one way fight head down to a small ledge but beware Leaper will still get you from that position you might have to retreat all the way to the car.
The HERC Keycard should be near the door on the dead body in order to access the large container with Explosive Wall Charge. Once you blow up the door, drop down on the left (enfiler’t worry for fall damage, there is none) use the sandbag as a barrier but don’t get to close to it.
Turn on the last generator, get to the Radio Tower’s control panel and use it.
Radar will track the location up in till a mysterious voice to tell you to stop. After the chat make your way down to the car and leave.
Fetid Waters (réussite cachée)
Reach The Sunken City
Unavoidable. Same as Signals Over the Air.
Bridge Over Troubled Waters (réussite cachée)
Lower the bridge in Leighton City
Unavoidable.
At Leighton City Bridge, you want to have semi-automatic/automatic weapon with around 100 rounds with high capacity ammo just for the bridge fight, if you got Molotov Cocktail use that for a small fire wall.
Make sure your car is in good condition and fuel up as you can guess you will have to run back to the car in a hurry, so try not to be over burden with weight.
Fight your way south than u turn on the left side to reach the stairway down to the shallow water. Keep heading north in till you see a stair with a door at the top, head in.
Turn on the generator and turn on all 3 commutateurs. Go back out, head west for another stairway up. A little up north, make another u turn toward the bridge.
Turn on the switch in the cabin, if there are sandbag use it to your advantage by staying behind it.
Once the gates are down, COURIR!
Cendre & Braise (réussite cachée)
Reach Hell
Unavoidable. Same as Bridge Over Troubled Waters
Un nouveau départ (réussite cachée)
Complete the main quest line
Unavoidable.
This battle is not very difficult if you save up 1 ou 3 Batteries along with Engineering Upgrade HERC Codes you will gain access to some end game weaponry.
Do not use Hand Grenade as it is very likely you will kill yourself in these tight area and the grenade throw is wonky.
At the Unknown Signal Source, you will be contacted by Radar followed by Trinity telling you to proceed in your investigation of the signal.
Head east till you find a stairway, follow it till you see 2 automated gun trap. Destroy them or run pass through the entrance of the door and enter inside.
Une fois à l'intérieur, head south-east to access 2 HERC Codes Container (Batteries required), an Antiviral Dispenser and HERC Keycard on a lootable desk.
Proceed north-east, in a large room the door to north-east is locked. Pour les débloquer, you need to fix two control panel, one at north-west (Medical Storage with Supply Cache) and one at south-east.
Once you fix them, head to the door this will be a big fight. You will fight 1 Armored Charger and many Infected with and without armor. I do not recommend to enter that room as there are Viral Traps and Explosive Barrels spread out in that large room. I use the corridor as my battle ground but you got to be light weight when the Armored Charger charge at you (two back dodge) or go as far as the previous large room to fight.
After that battle, keep heading north-east, you will be greeted by a infected Doctor Stedman. He explains his goal and why there are special Infected out there.
Kill Doctor Stedman beware he has a lot of health and fight like a Charger.
Pickup Infected Antibodies from Doctor Stedman and Serum Components in the same room. Use them to produce a cure, call in on the radio and use the cure.
Levelling Up and Knowledge Achievements
Experience Point
There are several ways to gain experience points:
- Mutations called Synapses.
- Survival Upgrade called Life Lessons.
- Killing Infected.
- Scavenging.
Rang: Novice

These are separated from the experience point and can be gain by:
- Scavenge from using the search icon and hope you find them.
- Selling items to Mikhail the travelling merchant for Knowledge
- Spending Supply by talking to Trinity.
- Upgrading Knowledge Retention by talking to Radar.

Spend Knowledge points to max out a skill upgrade
Easily done with Boltcutters.
Wheel and Deal
Purchase an item from the travelling merchant
To find the travelling merchant press m for map and find the $.
He is easily found by his loud running armored car. Beware that he required Knowledge to trade if you got some spare items to sell do so so you can buy. Once you bought something, you get Wheel and Deal.
Kills Achievements
These will require many Volunteer playthrough.
Pas de pitié
Tuer 1000 Infecté
Just kill anything that wants to rip your throat for about 1000 fois.
Tenez votre terrain
Survive a Horde
This can be done with a power generator.
They are normally found in HERC Stations (voir la carte), sometimes on Gas Station and on Military Outpost, or HERC Blockade. Once you turn one the generator, the Horde are coming to eat you, Tuez-les tous.
Explosive Potential (réussite cachée)
Kill a Burster
Can be killed by melee (not recommended at lower level) or with firearms.
Burster are best killed at long range or hide behind a fence. Guns you want are high capacity semi-auto or auto like Sport Shot Rifle or M16.
Prendre note: they are fast, à propos 350 points de vie, and when they are about to burst their mutation cloud, use the dodge key away from it.
Shakey Ground (réussite cachée)
Kill a Charger
This one is best done with long range weaponry but melee can still be done provided you got lots of stamina.
The Charger has a lot of health, à propos 2000 points de vie. He got 3 main attack:
- Normal melee attack when too close.
- An area attack by using his leg to stump the ground that will drop you on the floor (aucun dommage).
- A charge attack by momentarily stop and crouch than run at you.
The charge can be avoided by hiding behind obstacle like tall wired fence and can be stun by making it charge toward a wall.
When he does his area attack dodge backward than, if your brave enough, melee attack it.
Peut’t Pin Me Down (réussite cachée)
Kill a Leaper
Can be killed by melee or with firearms.
Leaper has about 300 points de vie. He just aimlessly walk around before looking at you and make a big leap to pin you down.
To melee the Leaper, dodge backward than close in on him and attack.
Cracher’n’Rouler (réussite cachée)
Kill a Spitter
Can be killed by melee or easily with firearms.
Spitter behaviour is similar to Leaper, they walk around than spit at you with area effect poison cloud. It has about 550 points de vie.
Melee the Spitter is a little bit hard as you try to reach it, it runs away.
Fire Away (réussite cachée)
Kill a Flamer
Can be killed by melee (non recommandé) and firearms.
Flamer has around 600 points de vie, walk slow and when it dies it explode in flame. They are escorted with many fast, unarmored but bullet resistance Infected that look like the Flamer without its flame.
When being hit by a bullet, a fragment of fire will fly out of it.
Walking Tank (réussite cachée)
Kill an Armored Charger
Same as Charger but with armor.
Recommend to quick melee it to remove the armor than shoot it to hell. It has about 2350 hit points without armor.
Alternatively you can kill it with fire or a combination of fire first than guns.
Item Collection and Usage Achievements
Diamant brut
Interact with a Supply Cache
Supply Cache and not to be confuse with Supply Bag are large box that require 1 Batterie.
There is some chance to find one in your first Detour.
Big Hauler
Collecter 25 Supply Bags
Supply Bags are small and must be carried to the car to receive a small amount of Supply. They are randomly place on any map.
Infection Fighter
Use Antiviral 25 fois
There are two ways to receive Antiviral: by Antiviral Dispenser or by Antiviral Lab. Both of them are single use.
By Antiviral Dispenser, it is the most common way to get Antiviral. Go on Focus mode to see if any Antiviral symbol appear. It can appear in nearly every map but randomly. It require, almost all the time, a Battery.
By Antiviral Lab, this require a HERC Station and 5 Infected Blood Sample. To get Infected Blood Sample, you need to kill special Infected like : Burster, Chargeur, Leaper, Cracheur, Flamme, Armored Charger.
Banlieue: Large Neighborhood (possible HERC Station, rare), Quartier (rare), Military Outpost (HERC Station), Strip Mall (rare), and HERC Blockade (HERC Station).
Montagne: First and Second Detour, Motel (rare), Forêt (rare), Login Cabin((possible HERC Station, rare), Middle of Nowhere (rare), Military Checkpoint (HERC Station), Supply Cache (HERC Station), Parc à roulottes (possible HERC Station, rare).
Sunken City: City Block (possible HERC Station), City Park (rare), City Street (rare), Military Outpost (HERC Station).
Enfer: First and Second Detour, Abandoned Military Base, Bunker, Containment Camp (HERC Station), Military Checkpoint, Supply Depot, Observation Post (possible HERC Station), Unknown Signal Source aka Laboratory.
Utiliser 25 times and you get Infection Fighter.

A Death in the Aftermath
Kill a Volunteer
After you achieved The Beginning of The End from here on just reduce your health bar to zero by letting the Infected hit you.

Similar to A Death in the Aftermath but 10 fois.
One Wrong Move…
Trigger a trap, with fatal consequences
This require a special way of dying, so far getting killed by a shotgun trap works.
Genomic Anomaly
Acquire a mutation
Very likely unavoidable.
When your not on Antiviral protection, if you take damage from the Infected or waited too long, one of your health bar will be purple from then you must choose 3 randoms mutations.
Other Loose Achievements
Aucun homme’Terre (réussite cachée)
Survive in No Man’Terre
This one is not that difficult but the requirement are the following :
Your car is at 1 fuel and your destination need 2 fuel or more. Enter the car and drive, you will given a notification that you don’t have enough fuel, drive anyway.
The loading screen will appear with the title « Middle of Nowhere ». Get your fuels and drive out.
This is The End (réussite cachée)
Complet 5 Runs
This require to be done in one slot.
For one run, ça prend:
- En moyenne, 2 heures.
- On maximum, 3 heures.
- On speed run, 18 minutes only if you max Experience and Knowledge skill with decent equipment.
Vous ne’t need to collect Infected Antibodies or crank up the difficulty of the Infected.
