Super quick guide for the Frozen Scenario in Terminus: Zombie Survivors. Please note that this guide is based on the early access version 0.9.7 and details may change in future updates. The Frozen scenario is considered the most challenging of the three alternative scenarios in Terminus: Zombie Survivors. toutefois, once you learn the tricks, it becomes much easier to navigate.
Scenario Overview
The Frozen scenario introduces several gameplay changes. Premièrement, the starting temperature is decreased by 20°, making it colder. En outre, the presence of snow increases the Action Points (PA) required to change locations by 50%. Dernièrement, zombie attacks and action power are reduced by 50%.
Understanding Door/Window Health
Due to the reduced power of zombies, the HP of doors and windows effectively doubles. Par exemple, a door that would typically take 5 hits to destroy in the classic scenario now takes 10 coups. This also means that zombies attack less frequently per turn. Before resting and lighting a fire, be sure to check the HP of doors and windows. A door or window with 10 HP can hold off zombies for hours while you rest.
Configuration recommandée
To increase your chances of survival in the Frozen scenario, the Ranger class is highly recommended. Rangers can start a fire using only planks, without the need for lighters. The unique perk « Preserve Warmth » raises the Ranger’s minimum warmth by one degree per level.
Other classes have a minimum warmth of 0, and they take 1 HP damage per turn at the lowest temperature. With Warmth I, the maximum cold damage taken is reduced to 0.7 HP par tour. With Warmth II, it further decreases to 0.33 HP par tour. With Warmth III, the maximum cold damage is only 0.25 HP par tour.
The easiest and safest way to survive is by reaching level 3 in the Preserve Warmth skill. This drastically reduces cold damage, to the point where you don’t even need to wear or carry warm clothing. Since Warmth is crucial, selecting the Veteran I or Veteran II traits is recommended. These traits allow you to choose additional skills. Veteran I, Résistance aux infections, and Alcohol Preference are good choices to gain morale from alcohol and prevent death from bites.
Considering the 50% AP penalty imposed by snow, allocating all 3 stat points to Health is advisable. Changing locations will require a significant amount of AP. When leveling up, prioritize Pathfinder or Adeline’s Thread skills if available. Sinon, invest in the Preserve Warmth skill.
Voie recommandée
The route in the Frozen scenario is similar to the classic scenario, with the addition of having to light fires to restore HP. While in warm locations, tu gagnes 0.5 HP par tour. A hot fire can warm you up in 2-3 tourne. You can choose to light fires during the day or at night. Keep in mind that zombies are attracted to fires at night, regardless of whether you are hidden or not.
Deciding whether to light a fire at night depends on three factors: 1) the location’s security, 2) the strength of nearby doors/windows, et 3) the amount of HP you are missing. Remember that zombies do half damage in the Frozen scenario, donc un 10 HP barrier is stronger compared to the classic scenario. If the location is secure and the closest entryway has 10+ HP, it is relatively safe. If you have a hammer and can reinforce the doors, encore mieux.
Once you reach Warmth III, there is no need to light fires unless you choose to do so. The HP gained from food and medicine is sufficient to restore the HP lost due to cold.
Useful Tips
- Keep any lighters or lighter fluid you find. Although you have the Kindle ability as a Ranger, using lighters to start a fire is recommended. This allows you to add an extra plank as fuel, making the fire hotter and faster at warming you up.
- Most locations have 2 planches, so carrying extra planks is not necessary. toutefois, carrying spare rags as fuel can be useful. In the Frozen scenario, ayant 4 spare rags is a good amount for extra fuel if needed.
- Once you have the Warmth III perk, your gameplay will be similar to the classic scenario, except you won’t need to wear warm clothing and you may need to pause more often to change locations.
- En résumé, choose the Ranger class, start with Veteran I or Veteran II traits, and light fires in secure locations as needed. Prioritize Pathfinder and Adeline’s Thread skills if available.
Souviens-toi, adapt your strategy based on the evolving gameplay and updates to the game. Good luck surviving the Frozen scenario in Terminus: Zombie Survivors!
