In the meantime until Valve officially checked compatibility you can set the compatibility in the steam deck settings to Steam Linux Runtime 1.0
The controller should also be set to Keyboard + Souris. If you click on the controller icon, go to Community Layouts and you can download the keyboard (WASD) mise en page (Steam deck compatible) by Elbaf45
