Struggling to make money in Weedcraft Inc.? Finding it difficult to transition from one city to another without going broke? Are the Scenarios kicking you to the curb?
Here are my handy tips and need-to-know tricks that will make a Ganja Kingpin out of you.
The Grand Plan
The biggest corporations start from the smallest seeds. The journey must begin with small steps, and at the roots. Vas a, a veces, become frustrated with the seemingly never-ending task of watering and trimming your plants, or having them stolen out from underneath you by a smug competitor, and you will live in real fear of having the police come knocking on your door, demanding to know what that smell is. (Sí, real cannabis plants DO stink to high heaven, and is only one of this game’s plethora of authentic mechanics, besides dodging the Po-Po’s beady eyes and dealing with competitors’ antics.)
But it doesn’t just stop there.
You’ll also need a foundation in business acumen, people skills and be able to produce unique strains of the wondrous colourful vegetation that will become your stock in trade. It is not just about shady dealings in dark corners with Vagrants and Jocks…where you are heading for is the elite Recreational Licenced Trade that serves Tastemakers, Celebrities and Gangsters, who will pay top dollar for your produce.
I hope to help you get there.
Creciente
1) Desde el principio, in your first rental property, build a Research Lab, along with as many grow rooms as you can fit into it, over the first period you will be setting up. Research points are crucial for finding the optimal growing conditions for your plants > higher quality plants will sell faster and at higher prices than common rated produce. You will need MANY research points within the course of a game, they take a while to mount up and are very useful for manipulating the quality/quantities of your batches, and for breeding definitive strains that the buyers particularly want.
2) En primer lugar, you are likely to be very hands-on with the growing, at least until you have grown and harvested your first batch. Each batch of produce takes time to become ready for sale, so don’t spend all your available cash on the premise that it is simply sitting in your pocket. It is likely to be needed for paying your rent and your employees (once you have some) FIRST, and if you are steadily mounting up extra beyond the next month’s expenses, only then should you invest in further improvements/properties/staff.
3) To get a batch ready quickly and at maximum quality for the conditions in your grow room, spend time watering and trimming your plants, especialmente al principio del juego. You are a lot faster than any employees at this point and you don’t need to be paid a wage either.
4) Take note of what each growing room improvement decision does to increase things like temperature, humedad, police vigilance and added monthly cost. A veces, the cheaper set of grow lights will produce a smaller harvest, but will also keep the police in the dark about your activities.
Business
1) AFTER you have rented your first property, built a Research Lab and a grow room or two, planted your first batch of Reggie and have harvested it, find a place to sell it. You can set up a Dealer’s Corner or a Dispensary in your first property, provided you have the room space left for either. If it’s a Dealer’s Corner, you will also need an extra room space for a Front Business, to help keep the Police off your tail. I prefer to invest in a separate property to the one I am growing and researching in, because I usually run out of rooms with my starting set-up. Además, every activity increases Police Vigilance, and you need to spread your activities out a bit to stay on top of it.
2) The best course is to identify what the highest paying customer is at any selling location, by looking at the last icon that shows the potential customers for that spot. Hit the ‘i’ tag on the left of the icon as your mouse hovers over it. You will then see the profile of that customer set, what strain they prefer out of the available ones, what quality they prefer, and what strain features they are after. You only have to serve the highest paying customer, because that is the limit to your ongoing earning potential in that location. Put your prices up according to the ticking number scale on the right hand side of the customer icon until it goes down to 1 (1 being the second to lowest level of buying chance of that customer. If it is as high as 5, your weed is too cheap, and you’ll sell out within seconds, without maximising your profit potential.) The weed will sell slower, but you’ll get max profit for your efforts. If you can’t produce enough to stay in stock until the next batch is ready, use the scientific manipulator to change your batch quality to the minimum of what the customers prefer, which can often extend your batch quantity.
Legality
1) Once you have a basic set-up of 1 Sala de Investigación, 2/3 grow room spaces, a Dealer’s Spot and a Front Business, it is time to deal with the legalities of your trade. If your activity is causing too much police interest (your red bar for Police Vigilance is going over the total halfway mark), you are in danger of being arrested for illegal activity.
There are a couple of ways to deal with this:
a) You can spend your profile/level points (on your icon in the bottom right corner of your screen) on valuable social skills that improve your relationship with the Police permanently, y, that also gives extra emergency options if a cop starts knocking at your door. That’s never a good thing and you need to worm your way out of it using the reaction options that are at your disposal. It’s a better idea to have more options, because not being able to get out of it will end your game.
b) You can get to know your local policeman by talking to them, and developing a positive relationship with them. It will make it much easier to worm your way out of emergency situations when they come knocking at your door, o, to bribe them outright (if they are leaning more toward the ‘Shady’ in their Acceptance bar on their profile.)
do) There are three activity types that you will come across in-game: Illegal, Medical and Recreational. The last two will require the buying of a licence. You can only buy a licence for ONE property you are renting at a time, and it will not cover the rest of your activity at other premises in the same town. It can get expensive, but it will also stabilise your base operations. To be able to reach the highest paying customers at the Recreational Licence level in other towns, you need a non-illegal base of operations in another town. Opening Dispensaries and paying for Medical Licences ensures that you are not in danger of being arrested by the Police, you can GROW any type of weed you want, pero, in premises that have a Medical Licence, you can only sell to ‘Patients’, rather than all the other customer types.
2) Smuggle non-‘Patient’ weed types across to the other towns, and only pay to rent Dealer’s Spots & Front Businesses (illegal) in the bigger and more expensive buildings. Remember though: renting a huge 5 room premises for a big hike in your monthly expenses may not be worthwhile if you can’t supply your dealer with enough weed to sell enough to cover that expense, as well as to make a profit on it. See if you cannot find the same customer in a cheaper premises, even if it has less rooms. Ensure that you are supplying the highest level customer, and that you are selling a Self-Bred Strain that covers all their desires. You can then charge them their maximum payment.
I find it is never a good idea to put a grow room into a high priced selling space because the Police Vigilance is always automatically higher. It is best to grow your weed more cheaply and legally in a medical set-up in another town and to smuggle it across the border. Por lo tanto, having one town with Medical Licences does afford you a stable base of operations and you send everything out from there.
Reputación
Spend time in building your reputation. That means talking to your employees (keeps them motivated, happy and less likely to demand things, as well as not having them walk out on you because of job dissatisfaction. Always take the reaction option within these dealings that is going to give you the most positive outcome, because your employees form part of your business stability.
Entonces, talk to your local Police (especially the ones that patrol the premises you are renting and operating out of, if they are illegal.) Gather dirt on the Police Chief, so that you can strike a town-wide deal with them to turn a blind eye to your illegal activities in any one town, either by bribery or threat.
Por último, talk to your competitors and get to know them. The more ‘familiarity’ you have with them, the nicer they actually become, and then won’t be a total pain in the ass the whole way through the game. While their attack activities can be annoying and cost you money, resistance to them only breeds hostility…and if they know the Police Chief better than you do, they can bribe him/her to cut you off at the knees.
En breve: the nicer you are, and the better you are at avoiding negativity, the easier life will be for you. I know it hurts when you are being extorted for money and you really need it to upgrade your grow rooms etc, but you can take out a small loan to extend/upgrade your activity, but make sure to pay the loan off as soon as you can.
EMPLOYEES
You cannot hope to manage everything (especially when you are dealing with activities in two towns) without delegating tasks to paid employees.
My best recommendation is always to hire those who have one set of skills, rather than skills that are spread across the three options of growing, venta, or gathering dirt. Coddle them, be nice to them and take care of them…talking is an easy way to keep them happy. If they are happy they won’t demand things like extra tools or money. Entonces, upgrade their particular skill set until they are at least Level 3, at max £750 wage a month. A Level 3 Grower can manage a 4 – 5 room Grow Room on their own with maximum product quality, they might just take a little longer to produce finished product.
Each staff member can do up to four tasks within your town, but I prefer Growers to only grow, while the Sellers will do Research and Police Vigilance Scrubbing in-between sales. You can always help the sellers at Town level if there is too much for them to do effectively, y luego, also open the ‘Hire one extra Staff Member in your Town’ pulir, found in your character level profile, as soon as you can access it. It really is worthwhile, because having two Sellers in your base town helps to keep the legal money flowing in steadily.
Estabilidad
It is best to grow your weed more cheaply and legally in a medical set-up in one town and to smuggle it across the border for Recreational or Illegal sale. If you have that kind of town in your selection, always start there and build it up as your main base of stable operations. If you are playing one of the pre-built game scenarios where you don’t get to choose which towns you start off with/in, you will have to battle through with illegal trade until you can move your base to another town (a medical option will always come up at least once.) Apply the permanent networking buffs in your character profile to stay ahead of the Police for now. You can always ‘move out’ of a town if it is causing you too much hassle, and then use it for illegal sales only, while you have your grow rooms elsewhere.
Once you have a stable Medical set-up, transitioning from one town to the next becomes easier, in that you will avoid going under until you have activities established in the new town. You also don’t have to wait for new plants to grow in a new grow-room, because that time is usually what hurts your bottom line…your expenses shoot up, and you don’t as yet have any finished product to sell.
Hola, bankruptcy.
Pre-made Scenarios
The three scenarios (played in order) form a tutorial about every game mechanic, and every action you can do within your empire. They can get tough at later stages, and you may find yourself sliding downhill every so often. Pero, it’s a great way to learn how to do everything in the game.
Como antes, I will say that the moment you are given Medical Licence access in any one of your starting towns, start there. Work at setting that up as a base, because all things will flow from this one point, especially making transitioning to further towns so much more stable and with far less risk of going belly-up. I cannot count the number of times I have had to restart because of jumping too far ahead and not having the income to support expansion. It would be my ultimate caveat: Don’t try to expand too quickly. Have the produce to sell before renting extra Dealer Spots in new buildings.
hablar con la gente. Es gratis, even though it is quite a lot of skip-clicking for each conversation, because in this game, ‘familiarity’ actually breeds contentment. You will find life smoother if everybody likes you.
Watch out for ‘timed’ objetivos. You can usually see in advance if it has to be completed within a certain number of months. Sin embargo, most scenario objectives are fairly easy to fulfill.
I hope this quick-start guide will see you make tons of cash and rise to deserved fame.
