In-Game Currency
Let’s talk about in-game currency. There are two main types, and if you count Gil, there are three, but we’re focusing on Blue Crystals and Red Crystals. Blue Crystals are the ones you can earn for free by playing the game—like logging in, progressing through the story, and participating in events. Ahora, Red Crystals are a bit special. You can only get them by making in-app purchases. They come in handy when you want to buy packs in the Shop or summon new characters, especially if you’ve run out of Blue Crystals.
Keep an eye out for Limited Time Offers. You can only snag these with Red Crystals, and they usually stick around for about 12 hours before saying goodbye. También, those exclusive banners that guarantee you a five-star weapon or more? Sí, you can only pull those off with the Red Crystals you’ve got. Entonces, make sure you use them wisely!
Gacha
This game is called a gacha game, and it might not be everyone’s cup of tea. People often discuss whether it’s friendly for free-to-play (F2P) jugadores, and I think it is. One common complaint is about the stamp system, which decides how many Crystals you need to get a specific weapon or costume. Sometimes you might need 15,000 Blue Crystals for 12 Stamps (which is pretty lucky), but it can also take as much as 36,000 for the same amount of Stamps, especially for costumes. Focus weapons from one banner can be pulled in later banners, but costumes won’t.
en este juego, characters are free, so you don’t have to spend on them. The reason people pull on banners is for weapons and costumes. When you pull a weapon, you can only get one copy, and it’s specific to a particular character (like Zack with the Falchion). If you get extra copies, they turn into parts (if Auto-Convert is on), which you can use for Overboost.
Every banner has a Wishlist feature where you can choose five weapons (excluding focus) that have a better chance of showing up. Recordar, in gacha games, there are no guarantees, and even lower percentage weapons can still appear. Each banner is around for a limited time, some lasting nearly a month, while others stick around for less than two weeks.
Player Level/Stamina
When you finish battles, your Player Level goes up based on the EXP you earn, which depends on the stage and difficulty. Only battles that use stamina contribute to Player EXP, except for the first time you do Co-op battles, as they become stamina-costly afterward.
Increasing your level boosts the maximum stamina you can have at once. It’s a good idea to use almost all the stamina you regain over time. Stamina is only used after successfully completing a battle, not if you get a Game Over or choose to Retire.
Stamina Tonics are handy for refilling stamina; each one restores 50 aguante. You can get them for free during specific events, by logging in at certain times as part of daily missions, or by signing in at least three days in a week for a weekly mission. You can hold up to 99 Stamina Tonics at once, and any extras go to your Gift Box. If you’re running low, you can buy up to 200 Stamina Tonics daily for 50 Blue or Red Crystals, and they restore 100 stamina instead of 50.
Missions/Campaigns/Jumpstart
Missions in the game come in four categories: A diario, Weekly, Campañas, and General. Daily missions are the same every day and last from one reset to the next. Weekly missions stick around from one Sunday to the next and remain consistent. There are more missions and points available than needed for the 70 Daily and 90 Weekly points requirements, so don’t worry if you can’t complete one or two.
In the Shop, there’s a pack called «Free Daily Pack» bajo «Especial,» collectible every day. This contributes to both the «Make use of the shop’s services every day» Daily Mission and the «Make a purchase at the shop 5 veces» Weekly Mission. Gil can be used to buy materials under «Gil,» counting toward these missions.
Campaigns are time-limited missions, typically lasting a week or two, offering rewards like Stamina Boost, Blue Crystals, or Draw Tickets based on specific requirements. An exception was the Sephiroth campaign, rewarding players for leveling Sephiroth up to 50 within the given time frame.
General missions are always available, covering various tasks like leveling characters, unlocking character stream nodes, Overboosting banner focus weapons for wallpapers, using stamina, and meeting support requirements in Co-op. These missions can be cleared only once but are valuable for earning Blue Crystals, character memories, exclusive Draw Tickets, wallpapers, and profile icons and titles.
Jumpstart missions are one-time clear missions, perfect for beginners to grasp the basics while earning rewards like Draw Tickets, weapon parts explaining Overboost, Blue Crystals, and weapon materials. These missions guide players in building a strong team and progressing through the story.
Misiones diarias, found under Solo Content, are distinct from Daily Missions. You get up to three quests per day, providing rewards such as Gil and weapon parts, with the option to choose five drops.
Pase de temporada (Búsqueda del tesoro)
The Season Pass covers the entire month, starting from the first day to the last day. It has its own set of missions: A diario, Weekly, and Season Exploration, distinct from the regular Daily and Weekly missions. Daily Exploration missions are the same each day and can be completed again at the reset, providing one step each. Weekly Exploration missions stay consistent each week and can be cleared again every Sunday at reset, offering three steps each.
Season Exploration missions can only be completed once per Treasure Hunt, offering eight steps each, enough to clear four levels. The maximum level is 30, which is quite achievable, but if you fall behind, puedes usar 200 Blue or Red Crystals to purchase levels. Premium Hunt requires spending, so if you’re playing for free (F2P), only Normal Hunt rewards are available.
Chocobo
The Chocobo Farm is where you gather materials for synthesis, weapon upgrades, memory stream nodes, a bit of character EXP for the ones on an expedition, and Chocobo Medals. After the reset, there’s a chest to open. Characters sent on expeditions remain available for battle. While extra exploration items can’t be used, they’re crucial for achieving 100% completion in each area. If an expedition is dragging on, Chocoboosters can be used to speed things up, with each one saving three hours.
Inicialmente, you have one slot, but you can open two more with Blue or Red Crystals. Having multiple slots lets you collect materials swiftly, complete missions more easily, and unlock new exploration areas sooner. It’s recommended to buy additional slots if you have the Crystals.
The Chocobo Farm has its own set of missions rewarding Blue Crystals and Chocobo Medals based on the area seen and items collected. Chocobo Medals can be spent in the Chocobo Exchange to purchase new Chocobos, with the grade and cost reflecting their stats. Speed determines expedition duration, Stamina affects collectable items, Intellect influences collectable Chocobo Medals, and Adaptability impacts the earned EXP.
Start by buying what’s affordable, as having empty spots can be problematic. Unneeded Chocobos can be sold after upgrading. There are three types: Chocobo, River Chocobo, and Mountain Chocobo, crucial for later area explorations, so saving them is important.
Sealed Tower of Cetra/Criterion Dungeons/Crisis Dungeons
Advancing in the story is essential to unlocking The Sealed Tower of Cetra and Criterion Dungeons, and completing The Sealed Tower of Cetra is necessary to access Crisis Dungeons.
The Sealed Tower of Cetra currently spans up to B70, rewarding Gil, Power/Magic/Healing Pieces, and character memories. Character memories are exclusive to Boss Floors, excluding B1 and Sephiroth. Boss Floors include B5, B10, B15, B20, B25, B29, B30, B35, B40-50, B55, B60, B65, and B70. Only B1-B30 are needed for Jumpstart missions, but B50 and B70 provide profile titles and Steam achievements.
Criterion Dungeons can be played unlimited times daily, with each stage having three missions. They’re ideal for new players to earn Draw Tickets and may contain additional Draw Tickets or Blue Crystals.
Crisis Dungeons, with nine areas in Normal and Hard difficulties, unlock materia recipes and reward Mythril Ore at Ranks C, A, and S+. Boss defeat concludes a Dungeon, so handle other enemies and collect chests first. Dungeon difficulty is based on the enemies killed, offering varying rewards and scores.
Reaching weapon level 80 is straightforward with a strong team; quests for Level Uncap Nanocube and Genome Pods help. Nivel 90 is more challenging. Mineral de mithril, earned from Hard Crisis Dungeons or Crisis Medal exchange (limited to 30), es crucial. It’s tied to rank for 1st Time Rewards and won’t be obtainable again once S+ is achieved. Mythril Ore can also be obtained in the FFIX Crossover Event.
Crisis Dungeons consume Dungeon Keys; six can be held, and three restore every Sunday at reset. Blue and Red Crystals buy Keys up to five times daily, or Dungeon Key vouchers restore one each for free.
Eventos
Events come in various types like Seasonal Story, Crossover Quests, Critical Threat, and Dungeon Ranking. They differ in duration and stage difficulty. While events are optional, they’re an excellent way to progress and enhance your strength. Co-op is recommended (except for Dungeon Ranking), providing extra materials, but solo and co-op stages are separate. Each event offers rewards such as weapons for easy Overboost, character memories, and materials for upgrades. Seasonal Story events often include a costume matching the theme, while others are banner exclusive.
In Co-op, you earn a title and a bronze, plata, or gold rank based on your performance. Examples include Crusher for the highest damage in one attack, Fantasia for the most Limit Breaks used (useful for characters like Tifa or Red XIII with quick Limit Charge), and Iron Heart for the most debuffs on enemies (Aerith excels, buffing with Cheerleader). Repeating a title five times earns you a profile title, another at thirty, a profile icon at 100, and a title at 1,000. Only silver or higher ranks count for these achievements, tracked in your profile under «Play Log.»
Estadísticas
You can boost your character’s stats in various ways: leveling up, using memories in the Character Stream, and equipping weapons, sub-weapons, costume, and materia. Sub-weapons contribute only half of their displayed stats. If you’re uncertain about team-building, utilizar el «Fiesta recomendada» característica; the game will equip the best gear. Once you grasp equipment and stats, it’s better to build your teams.
Story progression is crucial to unlock Character Stream.
For rapid leveling, clear the highest difficulty Character EXP stage your team can handle with 3x Stamina Boost. Find Character EXP under Training Quests, with stamina and no-stamina versions. Free stages are useful for Blue Crystals rather than leveling. Activate Stamina Boost after clearing a stage for the first time by clicking the button above «Comenzar» o «Retry» for subsequent plays. All characters earn EXP in story battles, but in Co-op, only the three on your team or the solo character gain EXP.
Character Stream is the most effective method for permanent stat increases, with access increasing with your level, up to the current cap of Level 60. Small nodes need Power/Magic/Healing Pieces, while big nodes require these pieces and character memories. Find Pieces Stages under Training Quests and Character Memory stages under Premium Quests.
Advancing in the story is necessary to unlock Premium Quests, limited to three times a day in total, not per stage.
Reinforcement Abilities are extra stats linked to the main and sub weapons, and costume. These abilities start at level one but improve with better costumes and high Overboost weapons, providing superior bonuses. A weapon’s point contribution depends on its uncapping frequency and Overboost level. Equipping more weapons with the same abilities makes it easier to reach the maximum level. Boost HP can reach Level 10, requiriendo 100 agujas, while Boost ATK goes up to Level 7, necesitando 55 agujas, although not every ability requires the same amount.
Support Abilities are connected to your first main weapon, featuring ATK Boost, PATK Boost, MATK Boost, Heal Boost, and Sigil Boost. These abilities enhance damage, healing efficiency, or double the number of Sigils destroyed. Examples include Fire or Fire Blow for ATK Boost, Thunder Blow for PATK Boost, Thunder for MATK Boost, Cure for Heal Boost, and any attack materia for Sigil Boost if it matches an enemy weakness.
The placement of materia is crucial for maximizing each slot’s effectiveness.
It’s essential to note that high Power doesn’t always equate to a strong team. While Boost HP significantly increases overall Power, it drastically reduces PATK/MATK, resulting in characters dealing less damage.
Here’s a breakdown of key attributes:
- HP: The character’s health pool.
- PATK: The amount of physical damage a character deals, affecting physical elemental and non-elemental weapons, as well as physical materia like Fire Blow.
- MATK: The amount of magical damage a character deals, influencing magical elemental and non-elemental weapons, and magical materia like Fire.
- PDEF: The amount of physical defense a character has, reducing damage from non-magical attacks.
- MDEF: The amount of magical defense a character has, lessening damage from non-physical attacks.
- HEAL: Increases the proficiency a character heals, impacting materia like Cure/Cura and weapons like Fairy Tale with Curaga A.
Aerith is widely regarded as one of the best units in the game due to her excellent healing abilities and weapons dedicated to buffing allies or debuffing enemies. Depending on how you build her, she can also deal high damage, making her a recommended addition to your main team.
This advice comes from someone still running Barret/Sephiroth/Zack, so the recommendation is not to follow that example.
Armas
Certain weapons, like Cloud’s Buster Sword, are obtainable monthly by collecting 2,500 Crisis Medals from Crisis Dungeons. Others are time-limited and can only be acquired through events (p.ej., Cloud’s Holiday Cheer – The Holy Flame’s Gift) or Crossover Draw banners (p.ej., Sephiroth’s Kuja Spirit Blade – FFIX), which won’t reappear on future banners.
Weapons serve as both main and sub weapons. Main weapons are character-specific; Por ejemplo, only Cloud can wield the Buster Sword and use its Command Ability. Sin embargo, everyone else can equip it as a sub weapon for the stats. If Cloud is on the team with the Buster Sword equipped, no one else can use it as a sub weapon since there’s only one copy.
If you have more than one copy of a weapon, go to Weapons –> Arsenal –> Turn Auto-Convert on, or manually turn extra copies into parts.
Weapons can be Overboosted up to 30 veces totales (Five pink Stars +20), but it becomes less useful after Overboost 10.
- Overboost x1: Greatly increases weapon stats and percentage damage dealt by C. Capacidad.
- Overboost x6 (One pink star): Greatly increases weapon stats and percentage damage dealt by C. Capacidad, agrega + (p.ej., Gale Blast+).
- Overboost x10 (Five pink stars): Greatly increases weapon stats and percentage damage dealt by C. Capacidad, agrega ++ (p.ej., Gale Blast++), unlocks Overboost+.
Materia/Synthesis
Materia is categorized into physical damage, daño mágico, buffing/debuffing, and cleansing, often unlocked by progressing through different stories or achieving high ranks in Crisis Dungeons. Materia listed under physical or magical types can be upgraded into stronger versions, like Fire Blow becoming Fira Blow or Thunder becoming Thundara.
Story progression is vital to unlock Synthesis.
Examples of Materia categories include:
- Físico: Fire Blow, Blizzard Blow, Thunder Blow, Quake Blow, Water Blow, Aero Blow
- Mágico: Fuego, Ventisca, Trueno, Quake, Agua, Aero, Curar
- Buffing/Debuffing: Barrera, Manaward, Debrave, Defaith, Incumplimiento, Mana Breach (last four are magical)
- Cleansing: Healing Esuna (Veneno), Healing Esuna (Fatiga), Healing Esuna (Niebla) (mágico, providing a bit of healing)
Synthesis starts with two unlocked slots and can have three additional slots opened using Blue or Red Crystals. This is how new materia is created, and it may seem confusing at first. The star rating ranges from one to five, with materials, time frames, and substats influencing the result. Higher times are more likely to yield three or four stars, or even five stars if lucky. You can use Bookmarks to shorten the time by one hour each if it’s taking too long. The number of stars increases the percentage damage dealt or health healed and determines how high substat bonuses can go.
Materials vary, including Synth Catalyst Dawn, Día, Noche, y noche. Five-star Synth Catalysts are challenging to obtain, often limited to events, while four-star ones can be traded for with medals or earned in events. Three-star Synth Catalysts are more accessible through Materia Synthesis Quests, making them recommended. Each materia can have four random substats. Percent-based substats are often more effective, como 3.1% MATK provides more stats than MATK +12.
As per the information available, there’s no guaranteed way to obtain anything better than three stars with max-level synthesis; it’s all RNG. The experience can vary, with some needing many attempts, while others achieve better results quickly. La persistencia es clave, so never give up.
