How can i survive in Gambit? As we know Gambit has been through a lot of changes since it launched in Forsaken, the core objective however always stays the same: bank Motes until you summon a prime evil and kill it before the opposite team does. However it’s not always as easy as described since get Blockers and send them towards your enemy and there is always a sweaty pvp player ready to ruin your day by invading. Here are some tips to help you out if you still are way to confused to get the course of a game.
Basics and Tips
Before you even launch lets have a look at your gear loadout, always pick a weapon you feel comfortable with to kill enemies fast so they drop motes and one to defend yourself against invading enemy players, first step done and you are ready to launch. Now some things you should know playing gambit:
The first hostile area is a pretty safe phase, no invaders incoming so head out to the next hostiles after you got your heavy crate (they fill special ammo too if you didn’t know).
Keep your teams and the enemy teams top bar always in sight, invader portals only open after a certain amount of motes your team has banked (the thin lines on that bar indicate how much your team needs for opening).
If the bar is filled up at these marks the portal opens
So collecting and killing fast is a key factor. If an enemy invader appears, stop collecting motes immediately and find them before they find you, no te asustes; you are 4v1 after all unless the invaders pop an ult, start hiding then or counter them if you have your super ready, it’s not a waste if it means your teammates get to live.
Even if you got the maximum amount of motes collected try not to leave your allies alone and help them clear the hostile area, try to bank together and send multiple blockers together since more than 2 blockers appearing means losing motes progress if they are not killed, so keep an eye on your bank as well and try to kill blockers that appear as fast as possible.
Always keep a lookout for your teammate’s mote count! It’s important to coordinate who keeps on collecting, if your mate has 14x motes already don’t try to rush for that one mote and let him get it so he doesn’t risk losing them to incoming invaders.
Time for invasion! If you head out to ruin a guardian’s day there are a few things worth your attention, timing is key. The most optimal timing is if you or your ally has sent a blocker and the enemy team’s bar is mostly gray (collected but not banked yet). Even invades without making them lose motes are totally worth it if it means wasting their time with your menacing presence. As the invader it’s best to always have one eye on the enemy team’s bank, hindering them from banking.
If you have enough to summon a primeval (Drifter will mention it) don’t bother collecting and bank immediately. Before you bank and summon, look if the portal to invade is still open (It closes if you summon and you lose a chance to invade!). If the enemy team got their prime evil earlier, a portal opens shortly after but doesn’t invade immediately, killing enemy players to heal their prime evil and ruining their progress is key. Don’t hesitate if you are sure you can kill the enemy team with your loadout (ellos no lo harán).
You can’t nuke a prime evil if you haven’t killed the envoys first (be careful they are escorted by taken vandals and taken goblins which are able to shield the envoy, focus those)
I’ll keep on adding things from time to time for more specific details regarding the gambit.
What weapons should I use for PvE/PVP?
Fusion Rifles, Glaives, and Shotties are decent against powerful combatants combined with a scout or pulse rifle. I prefer for heavy loadout a linear fusion rifle, good against prime evil and guardians
