racesettings updates ::: new racetypes :::: HideAndSeek Laps ,,,, HideAndSeek Laps (weights reset)
HideAndSeek was previously only a line-race style racetype, where the player would go through each checkpoint one time (in any order that they can come across the checkpoints) and then the race would be finished. With laps mode, once all checkpoints have been triggered (hide and seek is in any order, there is no first or last hoop) all will once again reset. ((this does mean you can turn around and go right back the way you came, although there may be considerations if some checkpoints require weights!))
With normal laps, if a weight is required and carried and then left somewhere, it will stay there on the start of the next lap, however with «weights reset» modo, once the next lap has begun, the weights will return to their initial start location.
There is a NEW way to program «needs weight» into courses. This is highly desirable as previously it was possible for the player to leave the weight somewhere other than its intended reset location, which might cause this weight to have a new reset location by accident. Using the new system, the player can press «pag» while building race to spawn a «weight programmer» which is represented by a bubble around the player. While this bubble is active, all hoops the player flies through (to add to race) will now require weights to be connected during the race. So the new best practice for programming course orders using dockable weights is as follows:
in spaysmode, place the hoops and weights as desired. Entonces, prensa «f1» while in spaysmode to enter «building race» modo. fly through each hoop in order, and as normal to add a dockable weight fly into the docking position of the weight and when prompted press «muelle» (barra espaciadora) to add the weight as a checkpoint. Entonces, move away from the weight and press «pag» to spawn the «weight programmer» bubble. While the bubble is active, all hoops the player moves through to add, will now require that a weight is connected. To add a weight-dock, move up to the weightdock with the bubble and when prompted press «muelle» (barra espaciadora) to add the weightdock, then press «pag» to deactivate the weight programmer, then move through the remaining checkpoints without the bubble to add these checkpoints as «does not need weight».
dockable weights are only available to the following vehicles and all other vehicles do not have the option to have hideandseek weights reset ::: SV, SVS, Cargador, Rockhopper.. The existing laps with weights reset on all other vehicles is benign at present although this may change however docking without RCS would be extremely difficult so a different connection technique would be required.
HideAndSeek will also allow for needs-weight, so although there is no order to the checkpoints, the player must first dock to a weight in order to trigger a checkpoint that needs weight. In normal ordered racing, a HUD text will notify the player if a checkpoint needs weight, but in HideAndSeek, there is no «next hoop» , so a small blue-purple ring will appear in front of all checkpoints that need weight!
