Do you want to beat the final boss without working hard? We’ll make it easy! Let’s punch her where it hurts and get you the Slayer achievement without trying too hard!
Das Setup
Ob Sie es glauben oder nicht, being super cheap takes a bit of preparation. If you want to easily defeat the tough final boss and make her seem weak, you’ll need to do some work first. Tatsächlich, it’s so much work that you might as well beat her the normal way. But we’re different; we’re all about being lazy, not strong.
Here’s what you need:
- Erholung + Prevent Commands (Buy them at the Terminal).
- Youkai Grimoire: Leistung (Found in the Upper Stratum of the Dreamer’s Monolith).
- Youkai Grimoire: Einzelgänger (Found by battling Medicine Melancholy in the Nameless Hill).
- Junko.
Ja, you’re going solo on this one! But why Junko? It’s because of her strengths and weaknesses. She can heal from physical damage but is vulnerable to magic. It might sound weird, but even a broken clock is right sometimes.
Also, there you have your Sumireko setup!
The type of magic you use isn’t very important because you won’t be using it much. What really matters are these things:
- Byakuren’s respec: Put points in Agility until it’s at least 70, then put points into Vitality and Intelligence. Whatever points are left, put them into Magic. (I didn’t bother to respec because I was already close enough, and I’m really good at gaming).
- Dai-para and Dai-atma (optional but can speed things up; without them, this strategy takes a long time).
- APAHANI-JALA (Don’t forget this)!
Mittlerweile, you should know that the key is to defeat the superboss by reflecting her magic attacks back at her and absorbing her physical attacks!
When it comes to equipment, there’s not much that’s super important, except for Mima’s Crescent Staff if you want to take some clever shots (like a pro gamer). Anything that increases your magic defense will be a good choice.
Die Schlacht
Get your Grimoires ready, take Junko’s soul, and go knock Shinki out!
The strategy here is quite engaging. On the first turn, cast Apahani-jala. Watch Shinki hurt herself when she uses magic and heal you when she uses physical attacks.
On the second turn, cast Apahani-jala. Wieder, watch Shinki hurt herself with her magic and heal you with her physical attacks.
Repeat this pattern for the third and fourth turns. Shinki will basically defeat herself with this strategy.
This alone will win you the game. You might need to use some Prevent commands to keep enough magic points for Apahani-jala by the end of the battle, but that’s only if Shinki gets really lucky with her magic spells.
But let’s face it, this strategy can get super boring. Also, here are some pro gamer strats:
Shinki will gradually fill up the SP bar for you. When it’s full, you can use Recovery or Prevent, both of which completely deplete it. Prevent gives you a window to do anything you want, so you can go all out on Shinki without consequences.
If you’re a bold player, wie ich, you can see turns where Sumi has full health as an opportunity to cast Dai-atma to make Shinki do more damage to herself, or Dai-para to let Sumi survive a round of spells directly to her face until Shinki resets the debuffs. The only way you’ll really risk dying is if you go in with low Intelligence and poor HP, and you’re incredibly unlucky to receive 3 magic attacks from Shinki in one turn. Also, you can play it safe, but safe is boring. Go bold, and enjoy the challenge!
