Sternenfeld – Engineer’s Optimization Guide

When it comes to playing Starfield, there are several strategies to consider. I’ve outlined four main approaches below and will explain why I chose the strategy that works best for me. Keep in mind that there’s no definitive right or wrong way to enjoy the game; it’s all about having fun.

Playthrough Strategies

1. Complete Everything on Your First Playthrough: In diesem Ansatz, your initial playthrough serves as your primary experience, and you tackle all the game’s content. After reaching the Unity point, you continue playing in your main game and ignore New Game Plus (NG+).
2. Complete Everything on Your First Playthrough, Then Explore NG+: Similar to the first approach, you fully experience your first playthrough. Jedoch, after reaching the Unity, you can venture into NG+ iterations as many times as you like before eventually focusing on another main playthrough that caters to your preferences.
3. Main Quest Focus on the First Playthrough: In this strategy, you prioritize the main quest during your initial playthrough, allowing you to unlock NG+. Anschließend, you speed run NG+ multiple times before diving into your main playthrough, focusing on what brings you joy.
4. Main Quest Focus on the First Playthrough with Faction Variety: Like the previous strategy, you emphasize the main quest in your first playthrough to access NG+. Jedoch, instead of speed running NG+, you choose to explore different factions in each iteration until you’re ready to settle down and make one of them your main playthrough.

Notiz: NG+ (Neues Spiel plus) occurs when you reach the Unity in the main quest and transition to a new universe. You lose all physical items but retain your mental progress, such as your level, Forschung, Fähigkeiten, und Kräfte.

Things to Consider

When you reach the Unity and step into a new universe, you’ll see a record of your life in that universe. If having very few memories saddens you, the first two options might be more suitable.

You only retain your mental attributes like your level, powers, Forschung, und Fähigkeiten. My Strategy

Persönlich, I opted for the fourth option, and I have no regrets about it. Jedoch, remember that I’m an engineer with a strong inclination towards goal-setting. What brings me happiness might differ from your preferences. Here’s why I chose the fourth strategy:

1. Since you forfeit all material possessions when transitioning to a new universe, I decided to reserve my last playthrough as my main one.
2. Given that each new universe is essentially a fresh start, I saw each faction as a distinct playthrough. This allowed me to decide which factions I wanted to revisit in my final playthrough.
3. As I wanted to focus on building outposts, I used some playthroughs to not only acquire the necessary skills but also gain practice in outpost construction, enhancing my preparedness for my ultimate playthrough.
4. My goal was to have the best starborn ship and armor for my final playthrough, which meant aiming for NG+10. Zusätzlich, I wanted my powers to be maxed out.

Notiz: Visiting all the temples you encounter when you reach the Unity unlocks only about half of the powers for that playthrough. To maximize your power upgrades, consider revisiting them before returning to the Unity to transition to the next universe.
