This guide will get you through the tutorial – and possibly beyond – no longer do you have to *wait 30 minutes until you have completed a tutorial step before the next one*
Welterschaffung
[No screenshots, because every time i try in any mode it gives me a black screen]
1 Click *Create World* from the main menu
2 Name it what you like
3 refresh/make your own seed/tweak the sliders until you get a world you like the looks of (you can spin the world whilst on this section)
then click *Create World* at the bottom
—————————————————
You will now be greeted with some background lore about how your tribe will be the Humans Ancestors *blahblah ensues at this point* (unless you love pointless lore, skip it)
Once the lore is over you will be greeted with your newly created world (it will start in the north pole first – centered on a few tribes (must be eskimos)
Take a look around the world (to see the tribes to pick you have to zoom right in)
———————————————————————————————————-
Preferred staring location = Just north of the rain-forest belt (i prefer moderate winters if any… if you don’t want the hassle of winter, start in the rain-forest)
Best tribe you want is going to be something like this:
Zwischen 4 Und 8 Sapiens….
Make sure you only have one pregnant sapien, because this will limit their job functions until their child can fend for themselves (after pregnancy they carry their children for a while)
It is preferred to get an even mix of men vs women (as much as possible) and as little children as you can (children can do more than pregnant women (i think) but not as much as adults (children can hunt!)
Stay away from tribes with more than one *fearful/glutton/pessamist/lazy* person!
Quick Tutorial
Once the map *zooms in* to your tribe, pause the game and have a look around the entire map until you hit the boarders…
The best area you are looking for is as follows:
TEMPERATE/RAINFOREST:
Find a place with a nice mix of Apples and/or Oranges/ Redberries/Gooseberries also birch and other trees and loose rocks (look like pebbles) and as flat as possible (makes building easier)
**Replace with biome specific trees/bushes**
**But my Sapiens are too far away and just sit there…** My reply to this is *move them yourself!*…
The way to do this is like so…
Click on a sapien… click the little *++* Symbol… select all of them … click the *move* button (Mitte rechts) and move them near your chosen location… then speed up the game (they are slow walkers)
OPTIONAL:
Once they have reached the location, pause the game again, and have another look around the world… See how the borders have got further away? (i wonder if we can conquer the entire world???)
———————————————
Jetzt, once the have reached the location, either follow the tutorial (my job is complete) or stay and read this…
Click a bit of grass (Heu) and do *radius selection* and select about 17 >>> 31 sections Then click *Harvest* (top scythe button)
———————————————-
Either on paused/FF/normal speed (personal preferrence of yours) press ESC or Q to bring up the building/tribe UI, first tab is *Buildings* You will only have Crafting Areas and Stockpiles unlocked currently…
Bauen *12* Vorräte (3 2x2s) and make sure they are at least 2×2 apart (further is better due to building)
Once you have placed these 12, click on a tree in a clump of trees (birch/bamboo/pine/apple/etc) then click the *++* and get as many as you can in the selection… then click on the *Collect Branches (Mitte rechts)* and let them get to work…
Once they have started filling the stockpiles, click on the hay one then click the *Investigate (light bulb)* and do the same with the *Branch* stockpile… and also a loose rock (should see one nearby) – start collecting rock right now (the same way you did with the grass/hay… branches/etc)
*IMPORTANT NOTE** Build at least 5 Betten (only unlocks once some hay is dry) … Wenn Sie mehr als haben 5 Sapiens, build the required amount + 3>4 extra for immigrants.
————————————————-
Once they have investigated *everything* you can start building things…
Hay = Thatch buildings
Branch = Campfire
Rock = Rock Napping
Once these are unlocked look for some apple trees (or berries/oranges/banana trees) – multi-select (++) and then click *forage* (top button) …
An dieser Stelle, you might want to organise your tribe better (ESC/Q Then *Tent*) … my preferred setup is like this… *3 on thatch building and rock napping and fire lighting (mindestens 3.. max 5, depending on the amount you started with)*
————————————————————
Lagerung:
Build a thatch building ASAP… *if you made the 2×2 stockpile design its enough space for 4 Wände (at least one being a door) and a roof (but you can get away with 2 walls and a roof to save materials… as long as it has a roof it is considered to be *Inside*)*
My preferrence is to store *nature with nature* (Hay/branches/food) and to have them all in the same 2×2 (easier to track that way)
How to Continue
Once you have done all this, you will now want to build your fire, a few torches and your crafting zones (unless already done)
My setup is as follows…
4 crafting zones together *2×2* (they are the same size as stockpiles for a reason 😉 )
A Torch in the centre of every stockpile and crafting area (in the middle of the 2×2)
Campfire as close to the beds as possible (for the first fire)
(Torches extend the work time of your sapiens… IF they are just sitting around doing nothing a long time before bed… they don’t have any light source at their work area (light extends work time))
———————————————————————————
Jetzt… In your 2×2 crafting zone…
Have one creating a maximum of 30 small rocks (this amount makes it easy to manage and you don’t grab every rock all at once… if you grab every single rock and do small rock on continuous craft – eventually you won’t have anything to *nap* with when you need to
The other one will be 4 axe heads, 4 knives and 4 spear heads (once one of these have finished, set up 4 Pick heads)
————————————————————————————
Whilst this is going on have a look for some flax (spiky plants) and grab as many as you can (make sure these are *inside*)
Once flax is dry and you have a pick head… investigate them both…
————————————————————
Set a single hex to be *investigated* and you will unlock digging… Once digging is unlocked, investigate some fruit and you get planting
Set 3>4 to digging and the same 3>4 to planting
**NOTE** By this time you may have had a tribe ask to join, pause the game and hit enter when the message comes, then proritize recruitment (you only need to do it to one if they are a family (they will all join)
Once the flax is investigated, investigate its by-product (cant remember name without loading the game) after this you unlock Flax Spinning (set to continuous)
Investigate the Spun Flax and you will unlock Tool Making… make a few more crafting areas and have someone make a few spears.. a few axes.. and a few pick axes (replenish them with their head (ein anderer 8) so that you can make more when needed (they last a while though)
—————————————————————–
Now investigate a chicken and alpacca/mammoth (you might get some injuries investigating a mammoth.. if this happens – at any point… find the injured people and force move them to a bed… they will heal faster)
————————————
Now you have Basic Hunting and Spear Hunting unlocked… go hunt some meat!
Investigate the dead animal and you will unlock Butchering… Investigate a bit of meat and you unlock cooking…usw (i won’t bore you with all the *breakthroughs/investigations because someone already made a guide for that…)

Letzte Tipps
If you need to prioritize a work order/multi-collection/etc click the job again and then the green arrow (you can also choose an individual sapien if you click it again… you can also do this with Multiple selected jobs – of the same type EXAMPLE if you have a collection order of Birch Branches… Klicken Sie auf ++ again and re-select them THEN prioritize… or you would need to do it individually
Have a few people digging every so often (paths are good to build for distances – they move faster)
If you do decide to forage far away, you will need to build *out-posts* along the path ( a few stockpiles every so often… a fire or two… beds.. usw – just avoid those mammoths!!!!)
IF you are going a distance, the stockpiles are the only way to move the items closer (if they are out of range you will have to force move you Sapiens and they don’t like that so stockpile transfer, although longer… is healthier for your sapiens)
When collecting flax… please understand they will eat the first few seeds *ALMOST* every time… so if you aren’t getting any flax seed to replant, this is why (you will get seed eventually… if you keep an active eye on those GLUTTONS!)
Once you have some fruit and planting available do so ASAP (as in the tutorial plant 10 anfangs… then increase the groves/orchards etc as you need)
Investigating clay unlocks pottery… investigating a *mountain* unlocks mining
after your first 25/30 Sapiens, stop recruting for a while or you WILL get overwhelmed easily! (don’t forget your women can get pregnant!)
Understand your Sapiens have a life-span and age and die…

I am sure i missed a bit of info out of this guide… but most of it is trial and error/following the in-game tutorial which i would say holds your hand 100% of the early game
————————————————————————————
Hope this helps you (i know some may say this guide is pointless due to the nature and format of the in-game tutorial… but i love writing guides!)
