This guide will show you how to easily get more than 30k worth of points in Meister des Orion 2.
Einführung
My personal best sits around 39,000 Punkte. I reckon breaking the 40k mark is doable, aber ehrlich, I’m too lazy to grind it out. It took me a whopping 60 hours just to hit 38k.
Speedrunning this game for a top score? Vergiss es. You gotta go through some phases, and RNG can really throw a wrench in your plans midway. Only then do you find out if it’s back to square one…
Playing the game in English? Nein, never bothered. Also, forgive any off translations on tech lingo. Aber hey, you’ll catch my drift.
Here’s the lowdown on what it takes to dominate:
- Snag Antaran Technology pronto to claim Orion.
- Round up those Captured Colonists and amp up Population.
- Don’t sleep on that Score Multiplier.
RNG’s the wild card here: Home system’s planet size and count, accessible colonizable planets in other systems, total planet count, rival races, and their stats – it’s all in the mix.
To kick off a playable game, you’re looking at about five restarts. But if you want primo RNG, you’re talking closer to 30 restarts.
Here’s your game setup:
- Schwierigkeit: Unmöglich
- Galaxy Size: Maximal
- Number of Players: Maximal
- Technology Level: Maximal
- Galaxy Richness: Mineral Rich
- Zufällige Ereignisse: An
- Antarans Attack: An
- Tactical Combat: An
Jetzt, for your custom race pick, aim for one with a Silicoid picture to ensure you don’t end up facing them – they’re always a bit of a turn-off. Auch, make sure there’s a race with the Double Population Perk (like Sakkra or Darloks) in the mix. Here’s the kicker: you’ll need to save right after starting, then peek at the Galaxy Map using cheats to check out other race stats. If Darloks or Sakkra have the subterranean perk, it’s RNG gold! Normalerweise, sie tun es, but watch out for them being Repulsive too. Don’t even bother with Repulsive races – they’re a headache. You can’t interact with them smoothly, besonders früh. Plus, you might end up having to deal with wiping them out yourself, which is a chore. They’re often at war with everyone and might even be toast before you make contact.
In addition to all that, having Psilons in your game is a must. Their creativity means they research like mad. And if you can throw in a race with a +2 perk on Industry – usually Meklars or Klackons – noch besser. Erinnern, Captured Colonists hold onto their Race Perks, so that’s a nice little boost.
Keep in mind the races that can be Repulsive: Sakkra, Darloks, Trilarians, and Silicoids (they’re always a pain).
For your setup, crank up the difficulty to Impossible, und nehmen -10 picks plus the 4 picks from Evolution Mutation to snag that sweet 3.4 score multiplier.
Negative picks should hit Ship Attack, Ship Defense, Bodenangriff, Spionage, and Poor Home Planet.
zuletzt, start your game at a border or corner, not smack dab in the middle. Auf diese Weise, you’ve got some breathing room.
Phase 1 – Prepare for Antarans (0-130 Wendet sich)
To grow your population quickly, focus on building colony ships and expanding your territory. Establish Science and Trade Treaties with other factions while also sending spies to gather intel, but be cautious not to get caught. If someone steals a technology from you, reload from autosave and consider trading it instead. Maintain a diplomatic approach throughout.
Prioritize researching or trading essential technologies such as Board Ferry, population growth and food production, industry boost and pollution reduction, Gravitation Generator, and morale-boosting buildings like Holosimulator and Infantry Barracks. Zusätzlich, build Battleships with 50% extra space and equipped with Board Ferry modules. Aim to construct 6-7 of these specialized ships.
Advance your research in Construction until Titan Ship, Physics until Plasmarifle, Chemistry until Thorium Fuel Tank, and Power until Anti Matter Engine. Then revisit Construction for the Death Star technology. Opt for Deep Core Waste Dump over Deep Core Mining, and acquire further Biology and Sociology technologies from other players.
Ignore Force Fields and Computers for now. The pivotal moment in the game is when you provoke the Antarans to attack you to capture one of their ships, preferably a Marauder. This may require multiple retries, as the outcome is scripted. Save at the beginning of every turn and create backup copies of your savegames.
Upon capturing an Antaran ship around Turn 124, save the game and scrap it. Prioritize acquiring Particle Beam, Xentronium Armor, and Damper Field technologies. Reflecting Field and Death Ray are crucial for endgame, obtainable from Orion. Moleculartronikcomputer is also beneficial for eliminating beam misses. Some technologies like neutronbomb and elogm are less useful but can be traded for others like Interphase Engine.
Erinnern, the technologies gained from scrapping a ship change every two turns, so exercise patience and choose wisely. This phase marks a critical turning point in the game, so proceed with caution and avoid mistakes.
Phase 2 – Defeat the Guardian of Orion (130-170 Wendet sich)
Build four Titan Ships with +50% Raum, equipped with 3xArmor, 3xReinforced Hull, and Damper Field. Arm them with only HM Particle Beam (etwa 16). Ensure you have the +125 Molecular Computer from the Antaran ship scrap; ansonsten, consider using Zeon Missiles or better rockets configured as 2-shot with the highest possible number of rockets (20-25) to defeat the Guardian of Orion quickly. Aim to be the first to reach Orion to secure victory efficiently.
Upon reaching Orion, assess if the Guardian is defeated by beam. Wenn nicht, reload and switch to missiles. This process may take time but is crucial for efficiency as fewer turns spent mean higher points. Aim to finish the game in under 500 dreht sich.
Before conquering Orion, ensure you have only three Ship leaders to allow Loknar to join you. After capturing Orion, remodel your ships again. Construct ships with +50% Raum, 3x Armor, 3x Reinforced Hull, Damper Field, und 2×2 HM Death Ray (later 2×3 and 3×3). Stack board vessels in 3-4 configurations (2×4, 3×3, 3×4, usw.).
In the later game, add Transporter and Subroom Teleporter to the ships. Utilize Death Ray to break shields and eliminate infantry, then teleport to the enemy ship and use the Board Button to capture it. Send Boarding Ferries to the next ship. Teleporting directly left/right of a ship enables conquering the same turn. Use captured fleets against enemies and scrap them to acquire technologies.
When dealing with Trilarians and Psilons, prioritize defeating Psilons last due to their strength. Spy on them and maintain diplomatic relations, refusing trading offers containing essential technologies. Gift technologies like Androids and Population Growth Technologies to boost relations. Obtain better Engine and Fuel Tank technology from other players through exchange, though it may involve giving away superior technology.
Use weapons for trading, as you are already formidable with Xentronium/Death Ray and Particle Beam. Avoid exchanging the eight Antaran technologies until necessary for wiping out a player.
Phase 3 – Expanding/Conquering/Fleet Building (170-240Wendet sich)
Ensure no enemy is eliminated by another race to avoid losing points. Utilize diplomacy without forming alliances, focusing on trading, Wissenschaft, and non-aggression contracts. As you grow stronger, Nachfrage 5% from other factions, avoiding the risk of immediate war by demanding 10%. Use spies defensively and strategically, ensuring you acquire all technologies from an enemy before eliminating them. Prioritize weaker enemies and avoid allowing Psilons to acquire Xentronium or Dampening Field technologies, as it could lead to defeat.
Conquer Sakkra/Silicoid planets and rapidly grow their populations, redistributing them to increase overall population across the galaxy. Focus on population growth during this phase. Reduce other races to a single planet but keep them alive, monitoring diplomacy to mitigate conflicts between other factions. If peace cannot be achieved, eliminate the player yourself.
Regularly check diplomacy status and intervene to end wars if possible. Exchange technologies just before eliminating an enemy to prevent other factions from stealing your technology. If any Antaran technology is stolen from you, reload the game to rectify the situation.
Phase 4 – Population Explosion and Enemy Wipeout (240-320Wendet sich)
Phase 4 is pivotal, involving Star Converter and Planet Construction technologies to manipulate planets and maximize their potential. Aim to have numerous star systems with at least two inhabitable planets, prioritizing systems with one planet and one asteroid belt. Save systems with the lowest population for the endgame, as they won’t be conquered.
Utilize the Star Converter to destroy small planets and rebuild them into giant ones using Planet Reconstruction technology. This ensures your planets will have substantial populations by game’s end. Employ the following strategy:
- Ensure at least one ship in your fleet has the Star Converter.
- Capture a planet smaller than Giant from a faction you’re at war with.
- Construct Alien Administration, Clone Center, and Infantry Barracks on each captured planet.
- Wait until population integration is complete.
- Transfer one population unit of your race to the planet.
- Scrap the Clone Center.
- Relocate integrated aliens to another planet, leaving only one population unit of your race.
- Gift the system to a faction you’re at war with (no peace treaty).
- Attack the system the following turn.
- Capture all planets in the system except the one with one population.
- Destroy the planet with one population, as it’s your own race, causing no diplomatic penalty.
- Use Planet Construction to rebuild it.
- Establish a colonization outpost or use a colony ship.
- Transfer citizens to the new planet.
Prioritize building construction in the following order:
- Clone Center
- Automated Factory
- Robo Mining
- Roboterfabrik
- Recyclotron
- Deep Core Mining
- Deep Core Waste Dump
- Biosphere
- Infantry Barracks
- Astro University
- Holosimulator
- Entertainment Center
- Terraforming and repeat until terran environment
- Biology-related buildings
- Science buildings
- Sociology-related buildings
Avoid building defenses except Star Fortresses to earn Commando Points. Repeat this process to maximize population growth and planetary development, ensuring victory in the game.
To optimize your strategy further, ensure at least one planet in your system has a warpfield limiter and avoid using androids. Convert Asteroid Belts and Gas Giants into planets, and terraform every planet into Gaia except toxic ones. Utilize the newest Shield technology to transform hostile radiation planets into habitable ones.
Begin by targeting the weakest enemies and always maintain a player you can gift systems to, as diplomacy may not always be possible with the current enemy. Gift systems to players at war with you so you can reclaim them the following turn by attacking, ensuring your fleet is stationed in the system.
Watch out for rebellions, particularly with Trilarians, and keep a fleet in the system to swiftly reconquer it. Avoid bombardments and prioritize invasion to capture citizens, as dead citizens do not contribute points. Exercise caution with death rays during planetary attacks to minimize civilian casualties.
Exploit the point system by gifting a system with a high population to an enemy player and recapturing it, although this method can be tedious. If a system has two small planets, repeat the process to maximize their size.
Late gameplay may require significant time investment, with each turn taking 10-15 minutes due to micromanagement. Mix populations on planets with races possessing the double population perk to maximize population growth.
Designate 4 oder 5 of your largest and wealthiest planets for ship production, appointing a Governor who provides industry bonuses. Utilize races with industry perks like Klackons or Meklars on ultra-rich planets for increased productivity. Optimize race perks such as +1 on science or industry for specific roles, ensuring Psilons focus on science. Note the limit of science points is 32,767.
Ensure you have only three ship or planet leaders until you’re satisfied with your leader setup, as new ones can appear over time. Dismiss leaders with 2 oder 3 perks to make room for those with 4 oder 5 Vorteile. While ship leaders are less effective in late gameplay, some notable ones include Loknar, Dalan, Dantos, Caern, Karg, Tellik, and Tulock.
Im späten Spiel, prioritize colony leaders such as Androgena, Black Razor, Necron, Tanus, Xantus, Electra, and Mystic X. Im frühen und mittleren Spiel, aim to have at least one leader with the Famous perk to attract better ones.
Leaders typically appear every 50 dreht sich, but loading a game resets the timer to zero. Keep an eye out for leaders offering technologies, like Megatron, as you can acquire the technology before dismissing them.
Allocate only the necessary number of colonists to food production to maintain a slight surplus, Typischerweise 2-3 per planet except for ship-producing planets. Acquire the Core Waste Dump technology to eliminate pollution on planets, reducing production time for Death Stars to just 6 dreht sich.
Zu dieser Phase, Sie sollten herum haben 400-500 freighters. Note that only 40 colonists can move through the galaxy simultaneously, so plan accordingly when relocating citizens. Deploy Outpost Ships to systems without habitable planets, establishing outposts on Asteroid Belts or Gas Giants. These outposts can serve as shortcuts for your fleets, especially once you’ve obtained Stargate Technology, allowing you to bypass systems controlled by enemies with Gas Giants or Asteroid Belts and circumvent warpfield limiters.
Phase 5 – Last War (320-360 Wendet sich)
Zu diesem Zeitpunkt, you should have amassed 60 or more Death Stars, excluding captured ones. Here’s a suggested layout for Death Stars:
- +50% Raum
- 3xArmor
- 3xStructural points
- Damper Field
- Reflecting Field
- Transporter
- Subroom Teleporter
- 2xAttack/Move per turn
- 3×1 Stasis Field
- 1 Star Converter
- 3xHM Death Ray
- 1×5 Boarding Vessels
This layout provides versatility for various situations. If you prioritize attack power, you can opt for 3×5 HM Death Ray and Star Converter. Stasis Field is useful for slowing down enemies with superior numbers. Erinnern, defenders always get their turn after attackers.
During the final battle, which may take around 20 minutes on Autoplay, you may face Psilons with approximately 100 Death Stars. You can choose to conquer the fleet or destroy it, depending on your strategy.
Destroy any remaining planets smaller than 35 Population and recolonize them, except for the specific system mentioned earlier for endgame purposes. This ensures you maximize the potential of your controlled systems.
Phase 6 – Endspiel (360-500 Wendet sich)
The ultimate goal is to send your Sakkra/Silicoid citizens throughout the galaxy to maximize population growth on every planet as quickly as possible. Achieve victory by defeating the Antarans, Wert 250 jeweils Punkte. Dominate the entire galaxy, leaving only the system with the lowest population under the control of the last surviving player, even if it contains only your own race.
Crush the Antarans with their own captured fleet and savor the victory. Keep in mind that the game can only display up to 32767 Punkte, after which it may start displaying negative scores, though these won’t be shown in the Hall of Fame.
