A quick rundown on where to find every Rain Bottle and Heart Material in Hanaby’s Summer Festival.
Vorwort
Greetings to all you treasure hunters out there! Before we jump into the meat and potatoes of the guide, there are a few things to note that will help save just a little time when you reach a few of the collectables:
- So many of the collectables need handheld rockets (the type that let you hover and boost in the air) that it’s almost easier to list the ones that don’t require them. For sanity’s sake, always make sure you have a few on you, and that you aren’t using one low on ammunition above a bottomless pit.
- A few of the collectables need specialized fireworks to reach. You might be able to kludge together a workaround if you don’t have them, but try and make sure you have a Cherry Blossom, Royal Fern, and Lycoris in your storage for when they come around.
- A few of worlds have you revisit the hub area halfway through. If a collectable is listed as being in ‚Abschnitt 1‘ that means it can be found in the area that is initially available in such a world. Vorhersehbar, ‚Abschnitt 2‘ means it will be in the area that is unlocked once you return to the hub after finishing Section 1.
Welt 1: X-Rated Xanadu
Rain Bottles: 2
Heart Materials: 3
Heart Material 1
Don’t get your hopes up on getting everything on your first run-through; most of these collectables are not available until you get handheld rockets in World 2. The only one that is obtainable at first can be reached from the lobby by jumping to a platform right of the blue door.
Inside you’ll find a gauntlet that is a contender for the hardest room in the game. Ernsthaft, you probably should wait until you get handhelds in World 2, or even extra health in World 4 before attempting this. At the end of this nightmare is a Heart Material. Do note that you don’t get to keep it unless you make it zurück to a checkpoint alive.
Why am I suddenly playing I Wanna Be The Squirrel?
Heart Material 2
Once you return from Hidden Heights, you can use a handheld to reach the other Heart Material on the left side of the lobby.
Rain Bottles 1 & 2
The remaining collectables are found in the second half of the level after you pass the lobby. The first two are after the…pendulums that swing in pits with boxes in them. Fly up with a handheld to claim your prize.
Heart Material 3
The final Heart Material is hiding just before the door to the outside. Boost up before leaving the clear out the level.
Welt 2: Hidden Heights
Rain Bottles: 2
Heart Materials: 2
Rain Bottle 1
Hidden Height’s collectables are mercifully easy to reach, unlike a certain andere level we just finished. Our first target is located in Section 1, just after you obtain the Miscanthus after the checkpoint. Immediately backtrack and boost up.
Heart Material 1
You don’t need to wait long to reach the next item on our list. When you reach the Dandelion, simply boost straight up again to find the next Heart Material.
Heart Material 2
Both of our next items are found in the hub. From the right door, boost straight up and you’ll reach an optional room with a long chain of rains leading to a Heart Material. Save yourself a headache and ignore all of that by just floating to the right side of the room like you wish you could have done in X-Rated Xanadu.
Rain Bottle 2
This next one is really complicated. Stand by the train sign and boost straight up.
Welt 3: Autumn Arcade
Rain Bottles: 5
Heart Materials: 2
Rain Bottle 1
Autumn Arcade introduces Kabuki puzzles, switches that make certain platforms appear or disappear for a limited amount of time. Its first collectable is behind one such puzzle, immediately to the left of the train station.
Rain Bottle 2
The next one is practically a gimme. At the switch in the second lobby room, just boost up.
Rain Bottle 3
At that same switch, follow the platforms it creates to an optional room. You can do some platforming to reach the top, or just boost. Mach dir keine Sorge, nobody will judge.
Heart Material 1
Somehow, we still haven’t finished scouring the lobby. After collecting the last two Rain Bottles, head right from the switch and bounce on some mattresses. Use a Cherry Blossom to hit the switch from behind the wall so you can reach the optional door on the right.
Von dort, make your way up. You need to hit the switch on the left wall at some point, as well as one of the two on the ceiling below the top. Whether you do that via bottle rocket or firework propelled body slam is up to you.
Heart Material 2
All of the last items can be found in optional rooms at the checkpoint. The bleeding obvious one leads to a seemingly dead end. Boost up and you’ll find a switch that traps you until it times out. Stattdessen, approach from the left.
Rain Bottles 4 & 5
A two for one combo, the final Rain Bottles are found by walking past the white door and instead of reaching another optional room. The pinwheel in there should be enough warning that you might die a few times, but a handheld will, wie gewöhnlich, trivialize most of it.
Auch, falls Sie es nicht wussten, enemies can trigger those Kabuki switches as well. Just in case you were wondering why you suddenly plummeted into a bottomless pit.
Does this look like the face of mercy?
Welt 4: Spooky Sweets
Rain Bottles: 4
Heart Materials: 2
Before we do anything else, it should be pointed out that you can finally use all those Heart Materials you’ve been collecting. Immediately to the right, you’ll find a stand that can turn them into Heart-Up Candies. The price quickly becomes inordinately expensive, so you probably won’t be maxing out your health even if you find everything unless you’re gunning for the Heartful achievement, but even just one or two can be the difference between life and death (for what little-death matters in this game.)
Rain Bottle 1
The first Rain Bottle can be found immediately above the train station, because hiding things like extra life balloons and Morph Balls right where you start a level is a time-honored video game tradition.
Heart Material 1
All the way in Section 2 is a room that requires you to trigger a switch to advance. Hit it and sprint to the end to reach an optional room. Use a Royal Fern to trigger the switch while you’re standing behind the wall to reach the Heart Material. A skyrocket makes for a very, very awkward alternative.
Rain Bottle 2
In the room with the huge elevator, jump right over it and hover underneath the wall to the left to find some moolah.
Rain Bottle 3
In that same room, once you pass the horizontal platform, boost up while desperately avoiding the hoard of ghosts to find a nook with another Rain Bottle.
Heart Material 2
Similar to Heart Material 1, except this time you can redo it if you don’t make it to the Kabuki platform in time. Noch besser, you can just clear out the room and casually walk over to the other side. The optional room also has similar mechanics.
Rain Bottle 4
The final Rain Bottle is an easy grab right above the boss door.
Welt 5: Minty Maze
Rain Bottles: 0
Heart Materials: 1
Heart Material 1
Kind of a barren level, huh? The Heart Material is in an impossible-to-miss optional room on the surface. Hit the switch to draw the platforms into reality and bring a handheld in case you run out of time.
Welt 6: Glory Garden
Rain Bottles: 20
Heart Materials: 2
Ja, das ist richtig, twenty Rain Bottles. When they said these were treasure ships, they weren’t kidding. It’s almost like this place is trying to make up for the previous level’s lack of collectables.
Rain Bottles 1 & 2 and Heart Material 1
This should give you a good idea of what to expect from this level. At the hub, skip the white door and hover underneath the wall to reach an optional room.
From here you’ll reach a Kabuki switch that gives you far too little time to complete it. You need to trigger the switch, then from the other side of the wall fire a Lycoris to keep hitting the switch while you reach the wall. Don’t forget to grab the Heart Material hiding in the corner once you make it!
Rain Bottle 3
The next Rain Bottle is in the hub area unlocked after finishing Section 1. Head to the switch on the far right and boost straight up.
Rain Bottles 4 & 5 and Heart Material 2
The second batch of collectables is in an optional room in that same hub area. You need to trigger the switch so you can stand on a platform to enter an optional room on the upper left part of the room. If you have trouble with the timing, hit the switch with a skyrocket and use handhelds to boost to the door.
In here you’ll need to use a Lycoris to hit some switches on the left long enough to reach the collectables. It might take a few tries, but keep at it.
Rain Bottle 6
There isn’t a lot to mention about this one. You’ll run into it as you progress through the level.
Rain Bottles 7 & 8
Anders als vorher, you actually have a chance to miss these. As you progress through the level, keep to the upper path when given the choice and you’ll find them.
Rain Bottle 9
It’s right before the long platform that leads to a firework and a white door. Just keep an eye out and you’ll find it.
Rain Bottles 10 & 11
Now you have to actually go out of your way to reach these. You can see them when you enter the room, but to actually get them you’ll need to skip past the white door and hover underneath the floor that you entered in.
Rain Bottles 12-14
Also easily noticeable, in the same room as the previous bottles boost up after the white door and walk down a long corridor to find three more Rain Bottles.
Rain Bottles 15-17
In the room with the storage cabinet, hover to the right to find three more bottles and a shortcut through part of the room.
Rain Bottles 18-20
Near the end of the room is a vertical platform. Hover past it to the right to find this level’s final Rain Bottles.
Welt 7: Pastel Parasols
Rain Bottles: 4
Heart Materials: 2
Ah, Pastel Parasols, the tutorial level. Was ist das? Why is World 7 the tutorial level?
Good question! Hanaby wants to know that too.
Heart Material 1
For a tutorial level, the collectables are kind of fiendishly placed. The first one is located above the fireworks shop. Before you actually go to get it, first buy a Willow.
Wenn Sie schon dabei sind, grab a Lycoris from your storage as well.
Von dort, boost your way to the optional room, and jump and fire the Willow so it squeezes through that gap and a few sparks hit the switch on the other side.
Rain Bottle 1
At the door to the queen’s room, break the box hidden by the cloud behind it. Just follow the route and break the boxes to the upper left to grab the Rain Bottle.
Rain Bottles 2 & 3
Enter the optional room partway through the level. You need to fire another skyrocket through a gap, but this time it needs to go off after Hanaby has had a chance to dip underneath the platform. A Lycoris should do the job nicely.
Rain Bottle 4 and Heart Material 2
This one’s an odd duck. Just finish the level twice and they’ll be right by the exit.
Welt 8: Oriental Ocean
Rain Bottles: 2
Heart Materials: 0
Rain Bottles 1 & 2
Another quick level. In the second room of section 1, dive under the stage maze to grab the two Rain Bottles.
