The Witch of Fern Island – All Chest Location and Moon Phases Guide

Tired of the struggle to remember which chests can be opened during specific moon phases? How about the challenge of recalling their locations and the entrances to the caves? I can relate! That’s why I’ve taken the initiative to create these maps, making life easier for both myself and others. Feel free to provide feedback, as it is always welcome.

Within the Forest Biome, you’ll find a total of five chests. بالإضافة إلى ذلك, I’ve included two bonus chests that actually belong to the Desert Biome. The first time you open a chest, it will contain unique items.

2. Positioned at the edge of a small lake, this chest is only accessible during a Waning Gibbous Moon. Upon opening it for the first time, you will acquire the recipe for Irrigation Fertilizer.
3. Located atop a cliff next to a stone archway, this chest can only be opened during a Full Moon. On your initial loot, you will obtain a Live Light Potion.
4. Similar to the first chest, this one is found in a beach-accessed cave with no specific moon phase requirement. Opening it for the first time rewards you with a spacestone. بالإضافة إلى ذلك, The Eyes of Astra mushroom will appear in this cave during Storm, Reverie, and Frost.
5. Positioned on the beach, this chest is easily reachable by swimming from chest 4. It does not require any specific moon phase and, upon initial looting, grants you the recipe for Friendship Charm.

Bonus chests:

6. Hidden behind a waterfall, this chest is accessible at any moon phase. Upon opening it for the first time, you will discover a Cosmic Egg. The Eyes of Astra mushroom will also appear in this cave during Storm, Reverie, and Frost.
7. Situated near a beehive, this chest can be reached by hopping on rocks close to the beehive, even without a broom. It can only be opened during the Waxing Quarter Moon, and upon looting it for the first time, you will receive a Fishing Charm.

The Mountains

The Mountain Biome offers numerous chests, some guarded by thorn barricades while others require exploration for cave entrances. It is possible to reach all of them without a broom, as long as you possess at least a fine quality axe or a potion to destroy the thorn barriers.

1. Found on the hill behind the witches field, this chest can only be opened during a Waning Gibbous Moon. On your first loot, you will discover the recipe for Medicine for Cold.
2. Positioned on a small hill, accessible by following the paths behind the witches field, this chest can only be opened during the Waxing Gibbous Moon. Upon looting it for the first time, you will find dumplings.
3. Located at the very top, in an area with glowing trees and plants beyond the thorn barrier, this chest requires a fine axe to chop down the barriers. بدلاً عن ذلك, you can use a Throwable Thorns Burner potion (found in random breakable chests) to clear the path. Watch out for the spider nest just beyond the barrier. This chest can only be opened during a Waxing Crescent Moon, and your first opening will yield a Farmer Potion.
4. This chest is situated in a cave along the cliff beside the stream, and there is no specific moon phase requirement to open it. 5. Similar to the previous chest, this one is located in the same area with glowing trees and plants beyond the thorn barrier. It requires a fine axe or a Throwable Thorns Burner potion to clear the path and can only be opened during a Waxing Quarter Moon. The first time you open it, you will find the recipe for Anti-Demon Amulet.
6. Situated in the Quarry, this chest is only accessible during the Waning Gibbous Moon. Upon looting it for the first time, you will discover Gold Ore.
7. Positioned in a cave behind a breakable stone wall barrier on the upper part of the mountain, this chest has no specific moon phase requirement. On your first loot, you will receive the recipe for Kitchen Charm. The Eyes of Astra mushroom and spider webs can be found in this cave during Storm, Reverie, and Frost. بعد ذلك, it will always contain Dream Essence, so make sure to check back frequently!
8. Hidden on the opposite wall from chest 7, this chest is obscured by trees but is out in the open. It can only be opened during the Waxing Crescent Moon. Upon looting it for the first time, you will receive the blueprint for Composter.
9. Located in the abandoned Facility on the upper part of the map, this chest can be accessed in two ways without a broom. You can either follow the wall next to chest 8 until you find a breakable section and use that entryway, or you can hop over the fence closest to chest 8. It is accessible only during a Full Moon, and upon opening it for the first time, you will receive a fire essence.
10. Situated at the base of the cliff, this chest requires traversing the large cave network to reach it safely without a broom. It has no specific moon phase requirement, and on your first loot, you will obtain the Cottage Witch Top. بعد ذلك, it will always contain an Agate, so be sure to check back frequently!

The Desert

The chests within the Desert Biome present the greatest challenge, as at least two of them require a broom for access. Thorny barriers can also hinder your looting, so ensure you have at least a fine quality axe or a few Throwable Thorns Burner potions to simplify matters.

1. Hidden behind a waterfall, this chest has no specific moon phase requirement. The first time you open it, you will receive a Cosmic Egg. The Eyes of Astra mushroom will also appear in this cave during Storm, Reverie, and Frost.
2. Located near a beehive, this chest can be accessed by hopping on rocks close to the beehive, even without a broom. It can only be opened during the Waxing Quarter Moon, and on your first loot, you will receive a Fishing Charm.
3. Surrounded by a thorny barrier, this chest necessitates a fine axe, a Throwable Thorns Burner potion, or the ability to fly over the barriers. It can only be opened during the Full Moon. On your initial opening, you will receive Hedge Witch Boots.
4. Similarly surrounded by a thorny barrier, this chest requires the same tools or flying capabilities. There is no specific moon phase associated with this chest, and upon looting it for the first time, you will receive the ritual for Sunny Weather.
5. Located high up inside the tower in the middle of the lake, this chest can only be reached by flying. To exit the tower safely, you can teleport home or jump into the water below, which may cause some damage but should not be fatal unless exceptionally unlucky. It is accessible during a Waning Gibbous Moon, and on your first loot, you will receive the ritual for Happy Cuflows.
6. Situated on the plateau within the large tree behind the archaeology dig site, this chest can be reached by hopping over the roots before gaining the ability to fly. It has no specific moon phase requirement, and upon looting it for the first time, you will receive the recipe for Amulet of Health.
7. Located above the aqueduct, this chest is only accessible by flying. It has no specific moon phase associated with it, and on your first loot, you will receive Gold Ore.
