This guide will show you the walkthrough for year 2 in Stardew Valley.
ربيع 1 – Planting Mania
ربيع 1 of Year Two will be very different than it was in Year One. For one thing, you should have a lot more money to spend on seeds and Speed-Gros. For another, you should have a few sprinklers, possibly even Iridium Sprinklers, and they will make farming much easier. While there will be less to clear than there was on Year 1, there will still be quite a few rocks, logs, and weeds to clear. Not to mention new grass to cut (to help get the hay reserves stocked back up). This is also when you’ll want to start focusing on the Achievements – in particular Polyculture (ship 15 of each crop) and Full Shipment (ship every item).
For Full Shipment, you should check the wiki page for details on what each item is. Knowing what you need to ship can help you figure out where to get it.
For Polyculture, you need to pay attention to the number of crops you plant and ship (selling crops to Pierre won’t count for Polyculture – or Monoculture either, although you likely achieved that in either Summer with Blueberries, or in Fall (or Winter) with Cranberries. So the advice I give regarding what and how much to plant is based on the idea that you want to ship at least 15 of each crop, and that you will want some extras for cooking (since you also need to cook every item to earn Gourmet Chef).
I recommend using a 9×9 plot layout (as shown in Part Two of my Year One walkthrough) based on the assumption that you will eventually have Iridium Sprinklers to water your crops for you. The layout you want is like this:
- Crop 1 will be Parsnips. You will need Speed-Gro (or Deluxe Speed-Gro) to get extra harvests, and you’ll need 54 seeds for the season, مع 6 to start.
- Crop 2 will be Garlic. You will also need Speed-Gro (or Deluxe Speed-Gro) to get extra harvests, and you’ll again need 54 seeds for the season, مع 6 to start.
- Crop 3 will be Potatoes. You will need Deluxe Speed-Gro to get the maximum harvests, and you’ll need 36 seeds for the season, مع 6 to start.
- Crop 4 will be Kale. You will also need Deluxe Speed-Gro to get the maximum harvests, and you’ll again need 36 seeds for the season, مع 6 to start.
The next layout to use will combine 2 9×9 areas side by side (you can also do this top-bottom, just flip the layout on its side):
- Crop 1 will be Cauliflower. You will need Deluxe Speed-Gro to get an extra harvest, and you will need 60 seeds for the season, مع 20 to start.
- Crop 2 will be Green Beans. You will need regular or Deluxe Speed-Gro to get an extra harvest, and you only need 10 Bean Starters.
- Crops 3 & 4 will be Rhubarb, which is obtained from the desert shop. You will need Deluxe Speed-Gro to get an extra harvest, and you will need 54 seeds for the season, مع 18 to start.
أخيراً, planting outside of the standard patterns you will want some Unmilled Rice, using Speed-Gro (or Deluxe Speed-Gro), near a body of water. I usually do 6 plots, which will require 36 shots for the season.
You should also plan to grow Blue Jazz near your Bee Houses, and you’ll want some extras for a good recipe, so I would plan to grow at least 5 plots, which will give 5 harvests with Deluxe Speed-Gro – although keep in mind you don’t want to harvest all of the flowers at once since you need them to boost your honey value. Plan to grow at least 20-25 throughout the season.
وأخيرا, you should plant a few Tulips, mainly just to ship (or to give to Evelyn if she’s not at max Friendship by now).
The last crop is Strawberries, but you won’t be able to get them until Spring 13 unless you saved any from Year One (which I recommended against in my guide). I would buy them in multiples of 24 to fit your Iridium Plot layout, but you probably won’t have enough sprinklers so you’ll just buy as many as you can (with extras this time for Year Three)… but that’s nearly 2 weeks away. For now, just get your crops set up and be prepared to do a lot of watering!
ربيع 2 through 7 (Week One, Year Two)
أوه, I forget to mention it, but you’ll also meet Kent (Jodi’s husband) in Spring 1. He likes Daffodils, so if you can gather any of Iridium quality, be sure to save them for him, especially since his birthday is Spring 4. Also don’t forget to check the Special Orders board, if you have time (إذا لم يكن كذلك, then make sure to check it on Spring 2).
ربيع 2 and Spring 3 are just ordinary days; one thing to note, لكن: ربيع 2 is a Tuesday, and on Tuesdays, Krobus sells an Omni Geode for 300g; it’s worth picking it up, even if you’re done with the Museum as they are needed for some quests and can be used for currency with the Desert Trader.
ربيع 4 is Kent’s birthday, so make sure you give him something. He likes Daffodils, and if you can gather iridium quality ones, that’s your best bet for getting on his good side. Although he does love the Rabbit’s Foot (as everyone except Penny does), that’s also a good (although expensive) choice. أخيراً, ربيع 4 is a Thursday so if you need any Deluxe Speed-Gro be sure to pay a visit to the desert.
ربيع 5 is a Friday, so be sure to visit the Traveling Cart in the Forest as she will have Rare Seeds which you’ll want to pick up. أيضًا, make sure you buy an Iridium Sprinkler from Krobus!
ربيع 6 is ordinary, but Spring 7 is Lewis’ birthday. If you haven’t maxed out your friendship with him, you can give him a Hot Pepper, الشاي الأخضر, Autumn’s Bounty, Glazed Yams, or Vegetable Medley. A gold-quality Hot Pepper is probably your best bet if you have one. ربيع 7 is also a Sunday, so again make sure you visit the Traveling Cart in the Forest.
There’s not too much to say about this first week, but you will be pretty busy. Hopefully, you’ll get lucky with a few rainy days to help ease the burden.
One other thing I wanted to talk about is how to maximize making money; specifically, I wanted to mention one of the best ways to turn your farm into a very successful one. It really begins with finding an Ancient Seed, which hopefully you’ve managed to do by now. إذا لم يكن كذلك, this will also work with Starfruit until you can get an Ancient Seed and start growing Ancient Fruit. Once you do get your first Ancient Seed, turn it into Gunther for a plantable Ancient Seeds, which you should plant in the Greenhouse. Once it matures, harvest the fruit and place it in a Seed Maker. This should give you another 1-3 Ancient Seeds (if you get mixed seeds, I recommend you reset the day and try again the following day).
Plant the new Ancient Seeds and just keep repeating that until you have a greenhouse full of Ancient Fruit plants! If you use Deluxe Speed-Gro, they should mature in approximately 3 weeks (if you plant on Monday, ربيع 1, you will harvest on Monday, ربيع 22), and new fruit will be available each week after that (if you always use Deluxe Speed-Gro and always plant the new seeds the same day the old plant bore fruit, they should all be in sync on the same day of the week).
Once you’ve got enough Ancient Fruit plants growing (116 is the max the greenhouse can have with 6 Iridium Sprinklers set up, although 120 is the maximum if you plan to water them yourself) you can stop making seeds and instead start placing them in Kegs to make Ancient Fruit Wine (although keep in mind you will want to save 5 gold quality ones for a quest, and you’ll want to ship at least one as well). The fermenting process also takes 7 days, so you should be able to keep harvesting and going right to wine on the same day of the week (as long as you don’t forget!)
To handle all of the Kegs you will need, you will need to get Robin to build a Shed and then upgrade it to a Big Shed. That will give you room for 137 Kegs, which is more than enough to handle your full Greenhouse. أخيراً, to really maximize profits, you will want to age the wine in your cellar, which you get with the final House upgrade. The Cellar has an optimal layout for mouse/keyboard play of 125 casks, which can handle your 116 Ancient Fruit plants… although it takes 56 days to turn wine to Iridium quality, so don’t bother saving more than 125 bottles of wine – just sell the extras at a normal level.
Note that the four most profitable things you can age in the cellar are, بالترتيب: Starfruit Wine, Ancient Fruit Wine, Goat Cheese, and Cheese. Because Goat Cheese and regular Cheese are actually better value for the time spent aging, you should not really bother aging any wine that isn’t Starfruit or Ancient Fruit. And you should probably save all gold quality Goat Cheese and Cheese even before you get the basement upgrade – although, مرة أخرى, don’t bother saving more than 125 في المجموع (combined).
If you’ve followed my previous guide’s advice for animals, you should be getting 7 kinds of cheese every day (2 Goat and 5 regular Cheeses on one day, و 7 regular Cheeses on the next). So it’s possible to get a rotation going of 7 cheeses every day – but doing that means keeping a few Casks open to get the rotation going (alternately you can hold on to everything and just put them all in the Casks all at once), but with the 14-day processing that works out to needing 91 Casks just for the Cheeses. Leaving 34 for the wine.
One last tip: when you get the cellar opened, it will have 33 Casks already. But to optimize the layout, you must move the 11 casks in the middle row, so I recommend doing that before you start putting stuff in them. The casks themselves are made from 20 Wood and 1 الخشب الصلب. To get to 125 casks, you will need to make 92 Casks, which requires 1,840 Wood and 92 الخشب الصلب, so I recommend you start gathering before you even start the House upgrade.
ربيع 8 through 14 (Week Two, Year Two)
ربيع 8 & 9 are ordinary, but Spring 10 is Vincent’s birthday. The best option for him is an Iridium or Gold quality Grape. He also loves Snails which would be the next cheapest option.
ربيع 11 is a Thursday and is the last chance to pick up Deluxe Speed-Gro from Sandy before the Egg Festival and the big purchase of Strawberry Seeds, so make sure you get plenty. How many is up to you, but I would recommend at least 100, and maybe even 200 أو أكثر. It all depends on how much watering you’re willing to do.
ربيع 12 is a Friday, so don’t forget to purchase an Iridium Sprinkler. I recommend you keep them in the Greenhouse until you have the full 6 needed to keep the Greenhouse going. The reason is that you’ll occasionally get a break from watering when it rains (or if you make it rain with a Rain Totem), but that never benefits the Greenhouse, so you’ll get a better return on investment from placing them in the Greenhouse. You should also visit the Traveling Cart in the Forest.
ربيع 13 is the Egg Festival. Keep in mind that if you’re using Deluxe Speed-Gro, you don’t need to plant the Strawberries at the end of the day (or at least, you don’t have to water them, which depending on how many you plant, might be nearly impossible given the limited amount of time left in the day after the festival. لكن: if you’re only using regular Speed-Gro, you WILL have to plant and water them today (which is another good reason to use the Deluxe Speed-Gro).
أيضًا, one more tip: buy at least twice as many Strawberry Seeds as you plan to plant (so if you’re going for an ambitious 200, then buy at least 400). The reason is that you want seeds for Year 3 so you can plant them on Spring 1 and maximize your harvests.
ربيع 14 is Haley’s birthday. An iridium Coconut is your best option to impress her if you need to. It’s also a Sunday, so be sure to visit the Traveling Cart in the Forest.
And that ends week 2 of year 2. You might be struggling a bit with funds by this point, ولكن لا تقلق – when those Strawberries are finally ready to harvest (on or before Spring 20), you’ll find your money problems will likely be over after that.
ربيع 15 through 21 (Week Three, Year Two)
ربيع 15 through 17 are just ordinary days. Just make sure you keep up with the watering. It might be rough, but hang in there! And if you need a break, just make a Rain Totem (تحتاج 1 الخشب الصلب, 1 زيت الكمأة, و 5 قطران الصنوبر).
ربيع 18 is Pam’s birthday. Odds are you’re already at max friendship with her if you were giving her Salmon Berries since last Spring, but if you’re not then she loves Cactus Fruit, so an Iridium quality one is your best option (she also loves Beer, Mead, and Pale Ale – not surprisingly – so they work in a pinch, but you likely won’t have them at Iridium quality, so the Cactus Fruit will be worth more). It’s also a Thursday, so Deluxe Speed-Gro is available in the desert – now you’re probably thinking “I can just pick it up next week…” للأسف, you can’t! You see, ربيع 25, the last Thursday in Spring, is when Pam visits Doctor Harvey’s clinic. (I know, يمين!) So you have no way to get to the desert on the 25th, unless you have a desert totem. If you don’t have one, then you need to buy your Deluxe Spreed-Gros on Spring 18 (or plan to buy them at Pierre’s).
You’ll probably need just as many DSGs as you did in Spring, so try to base your purchase off of what you currently have growing. The only thing to note is that you don’t need any for your Tomatoes (they should get Quality Fertilizer instead), but since you’ll only plant 6 منهم, that’s not really that significant a difference in number. You should also buy the Starfruit seeds you need now too (I recommend planting 12 at a time, so you’ll need 36 بذور).
ربيع 19 is a Friday, so be sure to pick up your next Iridium Sprinkler. And visit the Traveling Cart in the Forest.
ربيع 20 is Shane’s birthday. He loves Hot Peppers, so if you have any Gold Quality ones, that’s your best option. خلاف ذلك, you can give him Pizza, Pepper Poppers, or Beer. It’s also your first harvest of Strawberries!
ربيع 21 is a Sunday, so be sure to visit the Traveling Cart in the Forest.
ربيع 22 through 28 (Week Four, Year Two)
ربيع 22 is a Monday. Since it’s the last week of the season, you can harvest Tea Leaves, and you can also get your free one from Caroline’s Sun Room. And remember not to give your tools to Clint today for upgrading or you won’t get them back until Spring 25!
ربيع 23 is nothing special. ربيع 24 is the Flower Festival. If you’re married, I highly recommend you dance with your spouse or there could be… trouble.
ربيع 25 is a Thursday, and hopefully, you already bought all the Deluxe Speed-Gros you’ll need for Summer on Spring 18, because Pam is AWAL, and you’re not getting to the desert today unless you have a desert totem.
ربيع 26 is Pierre’s birthday. He loves Fried Calamari. It’s also a Friday so don’t forget the Traveling Cart in the Forest and an Iridium Sprinkler from Krobus.
ربيع 27 is Emily’s birthday. She loves Wool, so if you have an Iridium one, that’s actually your best option. She also loves Survival Burgers, قطعة قماش, and most gemstones, but as you can’t get any of them at Iridium quality, the Wool is the best choice.
ربيع 28 is the last day of Spring, so you can skip watering your crops today. It’s also Sunday, so be sure to visit the Traveling Cart in the Forest.
صيف 1 – What To Plant
Just like with Spring 1, I want to give you some advice on what to plant for Summer.
Using the same plots as Spring 1, you’ll have a few setups as follows:
Using the standard layout:
- Crop 1 will be Wheat. You will need Speed-Gro (or Deluxe) to get extra harvests, and you’ll need 54 seeds for the season, مع 6 to start.
- Crop 2 will be Radishes. You will need Deluxe Speed-Gro to get the maximum extra harvests, and you’ll need 36 seeds for the season, مع 6 to start.
- Crop 3 will be Hot Peppers. You will need Deluxe Speed-Gro to get the maximum harvests, and you’ll need only 6 بذور.
- Crop 4 will be Tomatoes. You will also want Quality Fertilizer since not even Deluxe S-G will increase the number of harvests. You’ll need only 6 بذور.
The next layout to use will, as before, combine 2 9×9 areas side by side (you can also do this top-bottom, just flip the layout on its side):
- Crop 1 will be Melons. You will need Deluxe Speed-Gro to get an extra harvest, and you will need 60 seeds for the season, مع 20 to start.
- Crop 2 will be Hops. You will need Deluxe Speed-Gro to get the maximum number of extra harvests, and you only need 10 Hop Starters.
- Crops 3 & 4 will be Red Cabbage. You will need Deluxe Speed-Gro to get an extra harvest, and you will need 72 seeds for the season, مع 18 to start.
The next 9×9 layout you want doesn’t really need a pattern You just want to plant 12 plots of Corn (using Deluxe Speed-Gro) so you only need 12 بذور. And then 12 plots of Starfruit, also using Deluxe Speed-Gro (you should have the 36 seeds needed from Spring 25).
And then last, but most importantly, you will want to plant as many Blueberries as you can handle. You’ll want nearly as many as you had Strawberries in Spring, so base your purchase on that. You can get away with only using Speed-Gro, but use the Deluxe if you got it with Sandy’s discount.
You might have a little trouble getting everything up and going on day 1, so keep in mind that if you use Deluxe Speed-Gro for the Blueberries, then you can skip up to 2 days without losing a harvest. Keep in mind that you cannot skip at all if you’re using regular Speed-Gro.
Summer Notes
So there’s not too much more to say about Summer, حقًا. I started doing a day-by-day breakdown like Year 1 but I finally decided it just wasn’t necessary. For one thing, you probably don’t need constant reminders to go to the Traveling Merchant on Friday and Sunday, or buying stuff from Krobus or the desert, or visit the community board on Monday. Plus by this point, it’s harder to predict where you might be in developing some of the more involved ‘end game’ content, like Skull Mine, or Ginger Island.
As you gain more Iridium Sprinklers, whether by buying them off Krobus or making them from your own materials, the farming part will get easier, and you’ll have more time (and money) to do other things and experience some of the more interesting content. I’ve tried to avoid spoilers in this guide when I can because I think the story is best experienced as you play it. Sometimes even making mistakes can be more interesting than always saying the right thing in every situation.
The best advice I can give is to just keep the wiki’s Summer Page open and check it whenever you want to know who’s birthday it is, or what fish you can catch.
Don’t forget to use a Gold Quality Cauliflower in the Luau pot on Summer 11!
And don’t forget: You want to water your Corn on Summer 28 (if you don’t have it growing under a sprinkler) so it keeps growing properly in Fall.
يسقط – What to Plant
So I’m not going to rehash all the tips I had from my Year One guide for Fall. Honestly, the only significant difference between Year One and Year Two for Fall is going to be the addition of Artichokes and Beets. I recommend planting them in the plot with the Corn, where you were growing Starfruit in the Summer. Do 6 plots of each, and you’ll want to use Deluxe Speed-Gro and need 36 Beet seeds and 24 Artichoke seeds.
Otherwise just do what you did for Fall, Year One and you’ll be rolling in the dough!
شتاء, Year Two
I don’t think there’s much more I can add about Winter, Year Two. By this point your farm should be a cash-generating machine that just needs a little daily care from you to keep it running.
You can really start to explore the new and interesting content at this point, so have fun!
أوه, and if you find yourself getting bored, remember that there’s a ton of mod content out there, so be sure to check out the mods and see if there’s anything interesting to you.
I apologize for taking so long to publish this, especially considering it’s pretty light on content. I was originally working on trying to do the Year Two guide also as a day-by-day walkthrough like Year One, but ultimately I realized there just wasn’t enough justification or important day-specific content to be able to do a whole guide that way. Especially since most of the events are either just repeats from Year One or will occur on non-specific days, based on what you’ve managed to do or find.
على أي حال, I decided in the end that the planting stuff for the Spring (و, to a lesser extent, صيف) was needed by anyone waiting for me to get off my butt and put this out, so I scrapped what little day-by-day stuff I had for Summer, and just finished the last of this quickly.
I might go back and re-edit this at some point if I think of anything important I feel you should know about Year Two, but I ultimately think I’d rather have something out there than nothing at all.
