Octodad Dadliest Catch 100% Achievement Guide and Tips

Picture this: you boot up this game and hit ‘Play’, but you wish you had a decent guide that tells you what achievements to look out for in each level as you play through the game. You just want to take it all as it comes. Well look no further, this is the guide for you! This guide will be broken up by chapter based on their chronological order in the game, so you can jump to wherever you are!

General Achievements

These apply to the entire game.

Be the Controller – Plug in a controller (which is the best way to play the game).

Au Naturel – Make it through the Shark Naked level. This is unmissable if playing through the game.

Number 1 Dad – Beat the Game without dying once. This is the toughest achievement in the game.

World’s Best Dad – Beat the game.

Number 100 Dad – Die 100 times in a playthrough. This should not be pursued if working toward the deathless run for the Number 1 Dad إنجاز.

Dadliest Wardrobe – Find all the ties in the game. There are usually 3 in each level, and each is outlined in this guide.

Wedding Bells

Remember to grab all three ties in this level!

Tie #1 – Required to progress the story. Grab this on the first door you have to pass through to find your tuxedo.

Tie #2 – In the reception room. To be more specific, under the wedding cake on the table.

Tie #3 – In the chapel. To be more specific, climb up the keyboard to the top of the organ. I would recommend grabbing this tie before grabbing the fish for the achievement The Best Man if trying to get all achievements in one playthrough.

Domino Dynamo – When walking down the aisle towards Scarlet (your bride), knock over the first vase on either side of the aisle so it falls and knocks the other vases in the respective column over. The vases should fall like dominoes for this achievement to pop.

The Best Man – When walking down the aisle towards Scarlet, there is a fish flopping around on the 4th row on your right. Pick up the fish, then place it on the altar and place the ring on Scarlet’s finger. ملحوظة: try to do this one quickly, since the fish can sometimes flop off the alter.

Trickshot-gun Wedding – When prompted to pick up the ring, grab it out of the chest and throw it onto Scarlet’s finger from a distance. The achievement should pop as long as you aren’t actively holding the ring when it’s placed on her finger, no matter what the distance is.

بيت, Sweet Home

Remember to grab all three ties in this level!

Tie #1 – In your bedroom after getting out of bed. To be more specific, in the dresser drawer on the left side.

Smokey the Dad – There is a log burning in the fireplace, pick it up and put it in the sink. Do this quickly to avoid too much suspicion.

The Secret Gardener – Don’t step on any flowers when weeding the flower garden. Just try to keep your legs on the path through the center of the garden. The achievement will pop upon pulling the last weed.

Tie #2 – By the flower garden. To be more specific, under the gnome in the back right corner.

Tie #3 – On top of the lawnmower shed. To grab this, either grab the recycling bin next to the wood chopping pile and drag it over to the shed to use as a step or climb the slide’s ladder and stretch to your limits in a flying leap to land on the roof.

Trim your Moustache – This achievement requires you to die, so don’t try for this if you are pursuing the deathless run for the Number 1 Dad إنجاز. When hanging up the birdhouse in the backyard, try to throw the birdhouse onto the hook instead of placing it there with your arms. This will cause you to get sucked into the lawnmower, popping the achievement.

Gervason’s Grocery

Remember to grab all three ties in this level!

Secret Shopper – In the frozen food aisle (the aisle furthest to the left), approach from the left to climb up to the top of shelf, and grab the orange Sports Johnson’s cereal. ملحوظة: If you travel to the center aisle, an event will trigger where the woman grabs the last box. إذا حدث هذا, the achievement can still be obtained by grabbing the box from the woman’s cart when she’s not looking.

Tie #1 – In the produce section. More specifically, in the crate of bananas.

Tie #2 – In the deli section behind the counter. More specifically, in the corner after running the three meat cubes through the circular saw.

Tie #3 – Near the dairy section. More specifically, from the deli counter walk to the wall on the right and swing over to an HVAC duct with the tie on it.

Unacceptable Purchase! – After being chased by the chef, grab a lemon from the lemon bin and scan it at the self-checkout.

Person-al Shopper – Place something in everyone’s cart in the store.

Aquatic Fun Center

Remember to grab all three ties in this level!

No Cutsies – After Scarlet gives you the coupon, go to the right and stand in line to redeem your ticket. AS long as you don’t cut the other people in the line, this will pop when you redeem your ticket.

Tie #1 – In the first area, before grabbing a turnstile ticket and going through the turnstile. To be more specific, [spolier]climb the ladder that’s up against the ticket booth near the start of the level, then follow the overhand until you cross the bridge section over the hall leading to the turnstile. The tie is at the back of the left side.[/spoiler]

**Optional and not tied to any achievement**: There is a secret level accessible at this point! In the men’s room, go to the toilet that is directly beneath a ventilation grate. Place both feet in the toilet bowl and flush it.

Tie #2 – When your family scatters, before following any of them. To be more specific, after taking the stairs down on the World of Kelp side, follow along the wall until you see the vending machine. Sneak your tentacle in through the right side and grab the tie.

Tie #3 – ONLY IN STORY MODE! Meet Scarlet at the top of the shark tank after finding your family. Walk through the “Employees Only” door and follow the stairs to the top. To be more specific, this tie is inside the locker to the right of the broom leaning against the wall.

The Deep Sea

Remember to grab all three ties in this level!

Tie #1 – At the start of the level. More specifically, turn around after grabbing the light and look at the wall close to the door you came through.

Dancing in the Dark – When told to find Stacy, take the elevator down to the deep ocean area. Complete the dance floor minigame without missing a step (basically, step in each tile with a lit-up border before the border disappears).

Secrets Of the Deep – When leading Stacy through the jellies, grab the lantern, go down the escalator, then look at the jellyfish tank and turn right. Next to the arctic comb jellyfish sign, look up.

Tie #2 – In the electrical room. More specifically, in a crate of red/pink glowstcks.

Tie #3 – On the Snugglefish statue. To get it, start from the mouth and climb along the side to gain your footing.

Stairs with Attitude – At the end of the level, climb up the escalators in under 30 ثواني. This one is all in the legs!

Amazon Arcade

Remember to grab all three ties in this level!

Tie #1 – To the right of Fish Toss. More specifically, climb from the Mallet game over the other attractions and move across the Fish Toss sign.

Tie #2 – In the Caiman Jaw Claw game. More specifically, under the prize in the top right. Crawl inside to get it to make progress towards the Amazonian Antagonist achievement as well.

Amazonian Antagonist – Get caught cheating in several games. Get caught in Caiman Jaw Claw (crane game) by entering it, in Amazon Air Hockey by standing on the table, in Fruit Blaster (with the turtle theme) by climbing in it, in Dolphin Dunk (basketball) by standing in it, and in Fish Toss from standing in it.

Tie #3 – Win a prize on every one of the 10 games. The tie will drop with the final prize.

Dunk Tank – After giving Scarlet 7 prizes, the piranha cage breaks and starts leaking. Plug the first hole with a basketball from the Dolphin Dunk.

World of Kelp

Remember to grab all three ties in this level!

Around the World in Several Seconds – During the globe minigame (the first minigame in the level), spin the globe and hit the correct colored buttons in under 30 ثواني. As a hint, an object is interactable when an object glows green and is needed to move the story ahead if it glows yellow. This takes some practice, so learn the locations you should be okay.

Tie #1 – Above the Sun Wheel. More specifically, after you complete the Sun Wheel challenge, Tommy will find a switch and turn the Sun Wheel to “auto.” When this happens ride it up to the top to grab the tie, or turn the wheel on yourself if Tommy neglects to.

The Hero They Deserve – In the minigame where you control the otter and Tommy kicks urchins at you, block enough of Tommy’s shots so that no more than 5 hit the end. This one may take a bit of practice.

Head Otter – After the otter mingame where you protect the kelp from sea urchins, pop the head off the otter and toss it on your head

Tie #2 – In the same room as the The Hero They Deserve إنجاز. More specifically, there are three otter cut-outs with a camera pointed at them. Move the small ones to find the tie on the biggest otter.

Tie #3 – On the octopus playground at the end of the level. More specifically, near the neck of the octopus playground – exactly where you would expect it to be.

Sea Legs

Remember to grab all three ties in this level!

ملحوظة: The achievements and ties in this level are a bit easier once you grab the captain’s outfit from the Captain’s quarters, so it may be helpful to head there first.

Tie #1 – On one of the cod crates on the main deck, specifically on the fourth one from the stairs.

Band of Blubbers – Grab 5 cod fish from conveyors or boxes and throw them off the boat into the ocean.

Oh Captain, my Captain – After getting the captain’s outfit go back to the deck and walk up to 5 people. They will talk to you and register your existence, then the achievement will pop.

Tie #2 – Below the walkway to the helm, specifically sitting on the very edge of the ship’s structure on what looks like a window frame.

Tie #3 – On a crane to the fore of the ship. This one is a bit tougher to get since it takes skill to overcome the rocking boat, the slick water, and the game’s controls in tandem.

Cod of Duty – After meeting Scarlet on the ship’s bow, you will need to sneak past the chef. There is a crate of cod you can hide in – grab one of the cod, go up to the chef, and smack his face with one of the fish. ملحوظة: It is possible that you will instantly fail the mission, so don’t do this if you’re also going for the Number 1 Dad إنجاز.

Shark Naked

This level is very short and straightforward. No need to worry about ties or missable achievements.

Au Naturel – Make it to this level. Unmissable

Silent but Dadly

Remember to grab all three ties in this level!

Tie #1 – By the biologist in the gift shop, specifically under a snake plushy, which can be grabbed once the biologist points the light in another direction.

Silent but Dadly – Sneak into the ladies restroom then go through the vent to the break room WITHOUT sounding the alarm. Crawl through the vent to the men’s room, but don’t fall right in because you don’t want to alert the biologist there. Move your feet into a stall next to the biologist and fall in there, then leave the stall and touch the men’s room door from the inside.

Poor Workplace Ettique – You need to put something on the waffle iron (or grill, whatever you interpret this object to be) until it smokes, put something in the microwave until it smokes (i.e. the toaster), and then put something on the stove top and turn all the burners on until it smokes.

Tie #2 – In the bathroom after setting off the alarm in the break room. More specifically on top of the urinal stall closest to the door to exit.

Tie #3 – On the World of Kelp side of the aquarium next to the biologists, banana peels, crates, and other hazards. This is easier if you wear the Joe suit (while working toward the Everybody Loves Joe إنجاز) since the biologists will talk with you instead of become suspicious of you. لكن, this can be obtained without the use of the Joe suit if working toward the Stay True to Yourself إنجاز. Look at the note below and decide if you want to get the Joe suit or not before trying for this tie.

ملحوظة: عند هذه النقطة, you have a choice of two ways to finish off the level depending on whether or not you want to wear the Joe suit. Both ways have an achievement associated with them.

OPTION 1 – Wear the Joe suit

Stay True to Yourself – Sneak to the cafeteria without wearing the Joe suit. At one point in the level, you have the choice to either sneak to the Joe suit on the Amazon Arcade side or play the role of stealth and sneak by the marine biologists on the World of Kelp side. The biologists all follow a set pattern and their gazes can be avoided. If they catch a quick glimpse of you, you still have a moment to hide (without affecting the outcome of the achievement). Use the crates as cover and avoid slipping in the spilled water by grabbing the mop and using it to clean up as you go. After sneaking past the biologists (أو, on easy, simply barreling through without any grace), jump into the tray return outside the cafeteria.

OPTION 2 – Stealth without the Joe suit

Everybody Loves Joe – Wear Joe’s suit (the shark suit) and show it to all the biologists in the aquarium, including the ones around the shark tank, the ones in the break room, and the lone biologist in the break room.

Hot Concessions

General notes for this level:

• If you’re trying for the Number One Dad إنجاز (which is only unlockable in story mode) this is the toughest level to get through.
• The slippery surface of the floor will make avoiding cleavers that much more difficult, so keep that in mind. Try not to change direction if you’re in a perilous position. Just ride it out.
• If you are killed before plugging all three spouts, you will have to plug them all again.
• Always keep moving. The minute Octodad stops within chef’s gaze is the minute chef will hurl a cleaver, which is always a one-hit kill regardless of difficulty.

Remember to grab all three ties in this level!

ملحوظة: This is a good place to get the Number 100 Dad achievement if not pursuing the deathless run required for the Number 1 Dad إنجاز. At the start of the level, when running from the chef on the flaming tables, just setting down the controller and walking away is a quick and easy way to die repeatedly.

Tie #1 – On the rafters. Specifically, from the starting position, after Scarlet boosts you up, move to the left and down somewhat to get to the wall where the tie hangs.

Tie #2 – In the room that says “Cafeteriyum” on the wall, on one of the posts around the chef. This is pretty easy to grab while hiding behind the post.

Tie #3 – In the room that says “Cafeteriyum” on the wall, on the table on the opposite side of the room to the “Cafeteriyum” sign. You will be fully exposed to attacks from the chef here, so be quick if you are pursuing the Number 1 Dad إنجاز.

ملحوظة: After collecting the third tie in this level, you have now encountered all ties in the game and (أملاً) unlocked the Dadliest Wardrobe إنجاز.

Independent Woman – In the final showdown with the Chef, Scarlet will toss fish lanterns at you, with the intent that you will place them on the fountains. لكن, if you line the fountain up between you and Scarlet so that the fountain blocks your line of site, when she tosses you a fish lantern it should land on the statue. You need to be somewhat close to the statue to have it land on the spout. If working toward the Number 1 Dad achievement try to line this up as Stacy is distracting the chef to avoid his cleaver.

ملحوظة: After approaching the chef to trigger the game’s final scene, you have now unlocked the World’s Best Dad إنجاز. If you did this while avoiding death the entire time you have now unlocked the Number 1 Dad achievement as well.
