There are certain things in Dark Souls 3 that should be obvious to both experienced players and new players but for one reason or another, it might not click for certain people. So here are some tips about Dark Souls 3.
Dark Souls III Single Player Tips
- Take your time and defeat the enemies in your way. If you want to take a risk and just go for it, just remember It’s not the game’s fault if you try to run through all the enemies only for them to all dog-pile you and result in your death.
- Check all the enemies you’ve killed for loot indicated by a white flame on their bodies. No one wants to suffer through the pain of farming a specific item and then walking away from the body too quickly to notice the enemy actually dropped it.
- Always keep an eye on your health especially if you are about to incur a status effect like Blood Loss, Poisoned, Toxic, or Frostbite. Try not to get too distracted to initiate your self-preservation instinct of rolling out of the way and chugging estus to heal.
- Never let the Curse bar fill all the way up. The bar with the skull next to it indicates how many curses build-up you have and if you let enemies fill it up all the way, you die instantly.
- Maintain spacial awareness. Nothing is more embarrassing than getting hit by an enemy you didn’t know was there. Headphones will help you to track enemies based on sound.
- Don’t get greedy when you fight a boss or an enemy. If you can only get in a hit or two before you have to dodge out of the way, don’t try to hit them more to end the fight quicker. You would be surprised how many experienced players die just because they got a little impatient.
- You are not any less of a gamer if you choose to fight a boss a specific way. A win is a win even if you cheesed the boss. It’s not the player’s fault if there just so happens to be a developer oversight that makes a boss significantly easier.
- Any character build can be viable. It just may be more difficult for you depending on which one you decide to go with.
- If you keep on dying…don’t give up! If you keep practicing long enough, you will get the hang of the game sooner or later. If you are still stuck, level up more by farming souls.
- If you run out of embers, either buy them or farm them from specific enemies.
- If you want to use a weapon but don’t have enough strength to wield it, you can two-hand the weapon if you have roughly 75% of the strength requirement. Please note this does not work on weapons that also require more dexterity, faith, or intelligence to use.
- Don’t try to use a weapon you don’t meet the requirements to use as you will receive a damage penalty for the weapon which can be seen on the equipment screen.
- يملك 29.9% equipment load or lower for the most invincibility frames while rolling.
- Practice parrying before actually trying to use it against enemies. The more you practice, the better you will get. Please note only certain shields and only having bare fists are able to parry. Please also note there may be attacks too big or strong to be able to parry, you will have to dodge these instead.
- Experiment with the environment. There may be a hidden path by falling to a certain spot, behind a fake wall which you can get rid of by hitting it, or by breaking and climbing down a bridge.
- Learn enemy attack patterns. Dodging willy-nilly won’t help if the enemy performs an attack and manages to hit you right when your roll ends. If you still keep getting hit, try dodging in other directions like toward an enemy instead of away from it for example.
Dark Souls III Multiplayer Tips
- If you get invaded by another player or an NPC, don’t get angry and complain that they are in your world. Invasion is a game-play mechanic in the Dark Souls series. If you don’t want invaders, either doesn’t use embers or play in offline mode.
- If you get killed by an invader and they use the point-down gesture, please don’t take it personally. People use whatever gestures they feel like in an online setting, and you can too.
- If you get invaded by another player and you decide to disconnect on purpose by using ALT+F4 or by unplugging your modem/router, you did not “win”. You chose the coward’s way out and people will look at you less favorably. You also may lose your access to multiplayer and have to use a Way Of White Circlet to be able to play again. After you use one they will re-spawn in the Cemetery of Ash in the grave you started at after about 12 ساعات.
- When you invade a world and there is an item dropped by a player or a phantom near a pit/ledge, it is most likely a trap where the host and/or phantoms/invaders are waiting to snipe, kick or force you off to your death. You’d be surprised how many people fall for this old trick and ultimately end up being laughed at and/or end up in a troll video on the internet somewhere.
- Check to see whether or not the invader is hacking. If they have unlimited Health, قوة تحمل, Focus Points, unnatural movement speed, different character models and/or gestures ect, they are using mods or hacks. You’re the best chance at survival may be to get them to fall off a lethal height or run away and enter the fog wall.
- Check to see whether the invader is hostile or friendly. If they are friendly, they may drop items for you or they could potentially lead you into a trap so never completely trust people online.
- Do not pick up hacked weapons and gear. You’ll be able to tell because they have a property that is unnatural such as being reinforced to an impossible level. If you do have hacked items, discard them immediately. They can get you soft-banned on the DS3 servers. Let’s say, على سبيل المثال, some hacker decides to forcibly inject a bunch of +20 Storm Rulers into your inventory, the best thing to do is immediately ALT+F4 before the game auto-saves. Kinda sad how the victims of malicious hackers get banned but not the bad hackers themselves…thanks Bandai-Namco.
- Not everyone who uses mods or hacks is necessarily bad. Some people do this for entertainment purposes or to help players in need, still, be careful though.
- Ganking other players is not against the rules. Some people may have phantoms either because they are Co-oping together and/or because the host is an extreme coward that relies on their phantoms to do everything for them.
- If you attack a player and they don’t take damage and/or suddenly appear in a place they weren’t originally, it may be due to lag either from your connection or other people’s connection. It isn’t much you can do about it. We all have to deal with it.
- NEVER EVER AFK IN A SOULS GAME. Always be in an area where no one can invade or hurt you before going to do something else like Firelink Shrine. An invader/enemy will inevitably kill you and/or destroy your gear with the acid surge to troll you.
- Avoid getting back-stabbed by players or enemies. Your back should never be facing an enemy while standing still. Locking on may help you.
- Never send hate messages to people you lost to or got trolled by online. It will only make you look stupid and it possibly may end up in a video on the internet.
