This guide will show you some of the best tips and tricks from the demo version that you can use and apply to the final release version of Chromosome Evil 2. This guide will also be updated over time, so we recommend that you bookmark this page.
Chapters
مقدمة: This part is like a tutorial and gives you some backstory from the previous game. The squad commander mentions a brother who turns out to be you in the first game. It’s more about the story than gathering resources for later. If you already know how to play the game, يمكنك تخطي هذا الجزء, especially if you’ve played before.
الفصل 1: Just like the first game, this one starts with a series of missions to unlock different vehicles for your convoy. You’ll get them in this order: a bus for housing, an ambulance for healing, a Humvee for training, a mini factory (not the real name, but it’s for crafting), and a research truck for, حسنًا, بحث. I’m not sure if there are more vehicles after this because the demo ends right after you get the research truck.
Main missions
This section will be updated soon. Stay tuned!
Secondary Missions
Main path aside, there are also side paths and locations requiring time and fuel for entry. In the demo, three types of areas were available: Scout, Scavenge, and SOS.
In Scout missions, the objective is to go to towers and scout the area, usually concealed in trees or cornfields with connecting paths. These missions are relatively simple and can be tackled by 1 أو 2 people, ideally a scout and a guard or solely the scout. For optimal speed, it’s recommended to equip only a knife and body armor. Start with these missions as they may become more challenging as enemy awareness increases.
Scavenge missions, or blitz missions, involve looting everything available in the area. It’s best to bring 3 people and assign them specialized roles: Tanks, looters, and all-rounders. Unlike the previous game, loot in these missions is spread out across more open maps, typically concentrated in one or two spots.
SOS missions require a more aggressive approach as the goal is to rescue a survivor. A recommended team composition includes a tank, a shooter, an all-rounder, and possibly a scanner. It’s advisable to scavenge for resources on these maps if you’re comfortable dealing with large numbers of enemies. Be cautious, as there’s usually no chokepoint to defend, making it easy to get overwhelmed.
In addition to these mission types, sublevels are often found in all areas. These sublevels contain a fixed number of enemies and offer the best loot. Look for a trap door to interact with, which will provide an area marker for accessing the sublevel. Entering a sublevel freezes all enemies on the main level until you leave. بالإضافة إلى ذلك, when entering or exiting a sublevel, the mule will spawn beside your soldiers, allowing for quick movement across the map if needed.
Lootables
Let’s chat about the loot you’ll encounter in the game. First up, we have materials. These are your basic crafting goods, like wood and plastic. They’re used for everything from fortifying windows to crafting gear with the minifactory. You’ll find them all over the map, making them pretty common.
Now onto food. Don’t worry too much about whether it’s still good or not. Food is essential for feeding your people every day, as well as for using the humvee to train folks and a few other tasks. It’s another resource you’ll come across frequently.
Next on the list is ammo. You’ll find it in those familiar-looking ammo boxes. But here’s the catch: it’s a lot rarer this time around. Unlike in the first game where you might get 100 9mm rounds from a box, here you’d be lucky to find 40. زائد, the boxes themselves are harder to come by, usually tucked away in specific areas and sometimes requiring side tasks to access.
الآن, let’s talk about safes. These are special containers that often hold something valuable, like a new piece of armor or a weapon. They take longer to search and usually only yield one item, but it’s often worth the wait for that sweet loot.
Fuel is another precious find, often located in garage-type structures or salvaged from broken-down vehicles. Keep an eye out for them, especially if you want to keep your vehicles running smoothly. The scanner can be handy for spotting these spots.
Metal is akin to mechanical parts from the last game, used in crafting and, importantly, upgrading your vehicles. It wasn’t in the demo, but expect to find it in various places as you explore.
Then there are electrical parts, needed for more advanced gear and upgrades. These are fairly rare, so grab them whenever you can.
Last but not least, research/tech points are perhaps the most important and rarest lootable. You’ll need them for researching new gear, though they’re not easy to come by. Keep your eyes peeled, as they could be hiding anywhere, like that one time I found one in a basement. There might be more loot out there, but that’s all I saw in the demo.
Roles
Roles in the game are divided into two main categories: combat and non-combat.
Combat Roles:
- Tank: This role is all about defense, equipped with heavy armor and a shield for holding choke points effectively.
- Shooter: Armed with guns, shooters excel in open areas and against tough enemies, provided they have enough bullets.
- Allrounder: Versatile individuals who can adapt to various situations, whether protecting tanks or looting. They’re equipped with knives or guns and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Scout: Swift and stealthy, scouts specialize in reconnaissance. With melee weapons and high agility, they quickly gather intel before retreating, avoiding unnecessary fights.
- Looter: Tasked with scavenging resources, looters grab everything they can find, even taking the nails. They may carry a gun but prefer to avoid combat while searching and breaking into doors.
Non-combat Roles:
- Driver: Essential for the team, drivers provide multipliers to other non-combatants and operate vehicles.
- Doctor: Operating from the ambulance, doctors heal injured team members.
- Teacher: Found in the humvee, teachers assist in leveling up units.
- Worker: Responsible for crafting new gear to enhance the team’s capabilities.
- Researcher: Unlocking new technologies, researchers contribute to the team’s advancement.
النصائح والحيل
Now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s dive into some actual tips and tricks.
Military Base
At the beginning of the game, you’ll encounter a scenario where you’re asked to leave a military base, and you’ll have several options to choose from. أولاً, you’ll need to pick one of three partner units:
- Silent/Tank
- Balanced/Allrounder
- Gunner/Shooter
شخصيا, I prefer the tank option. Tanks can effectively hold choke points, allowing your other character to scavenge all available resources in the early areas. Make sure to loot EVERYTHING!
التالي, you’ll need to acquire your mule and then face another choice: Armory or Messhall.
While your instinct might lean towards the Armory, consider this: in the demo, ammo consumption is relatively low. لكن, you’ll find yourself burning through a considerable amount of food while leveling up your characters.
Following this decision, you’ll have another choice: loot ‘some’ fuel or take it all. Opting for some fuel will yield less, but your characters won’t lose a portion of their HP in the process.
بعد هذا, you’ll face yet another set of options:
- Proceed through the vents – This route is the safest but also the longest.
- Proceed through the halls – Although moderately dangerous and time-consuming, this route promises more loot.
- Proceed outside – This option is the most perilous but also the quickest.
شخصيا, I choose to go through the halls for more loot!
Upon completing the last section, you’ll again be presented with a choice:
- Medical supplies or more ammo – While ammo might seem like the obvious choice initially, I haven’t encountered medical supplies to be looted in any demo area I’ve played. Keep this in mind when making your decision.
Post-Base
The initial step I take is organizing and renaming my team members to fit specific roles. على سبيل المثال, I designate the combat driver role to the least useful person in my team, as they’ll become redundant once the bus is unlocked.
To assist in assigning roles, I recommend examining each individual’s traits and stats. An engineer, على سبيل المثال, would excel in crafting compared to a runner, who would be better suited as a scout. بالإضافة إلى ذلك, a car enthusiast would make a better driver than a nerd. I’ll provide a more detailed guide on traits later.
