- Patch Title: new levels, experimental “crash checkpoints” for SV
- Patch Release Date: April 4, 2024
The developer of Ace Racers SP has released a new update for the game on April 4, 2024. Here are the new things that you should expect to see or change on this new update. This information was curated directly from the official announcement on Steam.
3 experimental “crash panel” checkpoints for Space Drone.
These “crash panels” are hoops that have a wall instead of being able to be passed through. In the same way that hoops register a checkpoint by flying through them, “crash panels” register a checkpoint by flying into them. To add them to race, bonk into them on the side wished to be added, and to fly them while racing, bonk into them on the side with the checkpoint field that normally appears on hoops.
The gameplay objective of these “crash panels” are to make tumble-recovery an intentional gameplay element. Tiny drones are more durable than large vehicles, and so flying into something is less likely to cause the drone to break into pieces, and instead it is likely that the drone will simply bounce off of the impacted surface with some rotation. The crash panels allow players to force racers to either slow down enough to eliminate potential tumbling, or to overcome the tumbling as part of the race.
New Scenes for spacevehicles: a handful of new scenes for SV, FO, RD, TGD. credits and additional vehicle access will be added in the near future. Also “platform city” added for TGH.
