Achieving multiple goals such as obtaining 5000+ Gold, surpassing 365 days, and acquiring a substantial amount of water and worldpieces can be accomplished through a comprehensive approach.
Primary Objectives
One effective strategy involves scooping water, which offers the following advantages:
- Abundant wealth, contributing to the attainment of the 5000g Steam Achievement.
- Increased number of days passed, aiding in achieving the 365-day Steam Achievement.
- Swift accumulation of worldpieces.
- Ample water resources.
Note: If you only need to focus on a specific goal, there may be more efficient methods available. For instance, having multiple wells in the late game can provide a rapid supply of clean water. Similarly, for early game sustenance and water, along with efficient worldpiece farming and profitable endeavors, repeatedly clicking on huckleberry bushes and subsequently cutting them down for additional huckleberries can be advantageous, as the bushes seem to regenerate faster using this method (although this may change in the future). To swiftly obtain three worldpieces, visit a cropfield in the mid-late game and vigorously swing your axe.
Initial Setup
The good news is that you can begin scooping water early on. To establish a basic hut and initiate the water scooping process, ensure you have the following items:
- One log floor
- One log step (optional)
- One log wall
- One log roof
- One basic bed
- One cooking station
- A stack of Huckleberry Bowls (30x) or any other suitable food option for satiating hunger (Huckleberry Bowls recipe: 3 Huckleberries).
Please disregard the archway beams depicted in the accompanying image.
Make sure you have nearby trees (1-3 trees are sufficient) for obtaining branches (and logs) whenever required since the water will be cooked. Clean water can be sold for 3g, while dirty water is only worth 1g. The cooking ratio is 1:1, resulting in a profit of 90g for every 30 scooped and cooked water units, which accumulates over time.
Additionally, it is advisable to acquire better food options that provide increased hunger satisfaction as Huckleberry Bowls tend to deplete rapidly. Fishing can be an excellent alternative, especially if you add more lake tiles near your farming area. Personally, I have approximately 10-15 fishing spots nearby. Fishing may yield Scrap Parts and other items besides fish. Remember to gut the fish first (in your inventory) and then cook the meat (recipe: 3 fish meat for the best recipe).
Implementation Process
The basic cycle is straightforward. Begin by scooping water to obtain dirty water and become fatigued. Then, promptly rest (you can sleep at any point while fatigued). Upon waking up, your fatigue will be replenished, albeit your thirst and hunger will slightly decrease. Repeat this process.
After several sleep cycles, your thirst and hunger levels will reach a critical point. Consume some clean water (or cook more) and eat food to replenish these needs, and then continue scooping and sleeping.
Scooping water will result in an accumulation of more dirty water and progress in obtaining worldpieces. Sleeping will advance the number of days by +1. Delay cooking most of the dirty water until your inventory is full, and then cook it all at once. The reason for this is that lit cooking stations also replenish your fatigue, which is counterproductive if your goal is to farm days passed.
Once you have an adequate supply of clean water, store it in chests or sell it to the nearest trader. If scooping water becomes tedious, engage in other activities to progress in the game, returning to this method intermittently throughout your playthrough. During my last check, I had a total of 7800g (the image displays 6449g), so it’s safe to say I was not exactly poor.
